BALTIMORE, MD C. 1820-35 In the manner of John Needles(Baltimore. 1786-1878) crafted of solid mahogany over ... morereeded legs Item# 120009RUW29 The present example is a very fine solid mahogany full dining table. Capable of seating six people comfortably when it is fully opened. The mahogany leaves are single solid boards with reeding along the edges that mirrors the legs, each hanging on original hand forged iron hinges to easily swing up and down. A flamed mahogany veneer completes the apron of the table. The table has six legs, an expensive feature that was time consuming and reserved for a more affluent client. It allows the table to remain firmly rooted while the leaves are extended, truly making it a fully functional dining table. The legs swing over knuckle joints formed of solid oak. In unison with the exterior of the table frame, this surrounding what appears to be pine secondary wood making up the inside of the table frame. These thick secondary woods are remarkably strong and allow the leg to remain in nearly untouched condition after nearly 200 years. The table rests over turned double-rings over sharp reeding, to terminate again in double ringlets over tapered feet. This is a very attractive example for collectors of American forms. Crafted in a distinct manner to that of John Needles. Needles is well known as an artisan with significant output in the Baltimore. Maryland area during the height of the American Classical period. Labeled and documented works by the shop of John Needles are typically accompanied by unusually strong and nearly triangular reeding on legs or pillars, typically in tables though also found in large cabinets and sideboards. He was most active in the years of 1810-48, where the majority of his twenty-four surviving documented forms are crafted. After serving a five-year apprenticeship on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with James Neale of Easton. Needles migrated to Baltimore in 1808 and after a brief apprenticeship under Edward Priestl

This stunning piece is a burl walnut Chippendale pad foot carved bar with cabriole legs that dates from the 1940s era and came from England. ... moreIt’s a beautiful cabinet. And we’ve re-sprayed the top to remove all the little surface scratches and make this piece look outstanding. It features carved skirts all around. When the little top is flipped up, it reveals a silver plaque that reads: Presented to so-and-so on his retirement after 42 years of legal service, then the name of the company that gave him the bar. When the front cover is pulled down, it exposes a mirrored liner where the olives and such are cut, and the inside is all mirrored. There are even little rooster hors d'oeuvres picks in the racks on both sides. There is a light, but since it comes from England, it must be rewired to U.S. standards to be safe. It comes with both keys. The bottom cabinet opens up and has a shelf section on the right-hand side and a tall section for the extra-tall bottles of spirits on the left-hand side. In its original medium amber color, it’s in really nice condition. The overall size is 35 inches at the widest point, 17 inches at the deepest point, and 46 inches high. Antique Chippendale MULE BLANKET CHEST Seventeenth Century PICK UP ONLY
PICK UP ONLY- 30 miles north of Nashville. TN on I-65 N- White House, TN Exit 108. According to a similar chest I saw in a Book of Antiques. This chest could be circa 1735. I'm not saying for sure it's Chippendale, but it looks exactly like another one on Ebay that is Chippendale. It is"grain painted" with brass colored hardware. I think the key holes are covered with real brass and are original. The pull hardware and hinges have been changed once thru the years. I’m not sure what kind of wood it’s made of. It is 41" high- 45" across and 19 ½" deep. It’s in great shape. The top half of chest is for blankets- the last half is two drawers. It’s from my grandmother’s estate. It was appraised at $900. ANTIQUE SOLID BRASS DRAWER PULLS.set of 6 These set of original early 1900s heavy duty solid brass drawer pulls is still in very good condition. Some minor scratches on the pressed brass back plates. They all match. And require 2" on center mounting holes. No cracks that I can see in the metal. The cast brass bails and balls show some tiny pinholes, indicative of very old castings. The back plates measure about 2 3/4 wide x 2"tall" The steel bolt inserts and nuts are designed for 3/4" to 7/8" thick drawer fronts. Some may need washers on 3/4" drawer fronts. Late 18th Century c. 1780-1800 Item# 130001GHP27 This is a very fine solid mahogany English Chippendale Hanging Antique Corner Cabinet or Cupboard with a Broken-Arch Pediment. Crafted during the last quarter of the 18th Century c. 1780-1800. Of outstanding construction. It features thick planed and carved crown molding along the Broken-Arch, raising the visual plane of the cabinet quite intensely to culminate in a turned finial over a plinth scroll cut of the solid. The sides of the case bevel to soften the edge before joining the wall, these flanking two blind doors. The doors are constructed using a through-tenon mortised frame locking in the inset chamfered panels. Each with shapely notched crests and edged by cockbead molding, both functioning smoothly on ... moreoriginal brass hinges. Inside of the doors, the original hardware remains untouched, the hand forged iron latch on the left door locking the panel in place, the original steel lock on the right door still in place. The interior is four shelves, all but the second-to-top shelf backed by a silk upholstery. The back of the case is entirely dovetail construction. The quarter-sawn oak secondary woods locking into the top and bottom boards without the use of nails or screws. Over the years, this has placed some strain on the back-most corners, as the oak is not thick enough to create an indestructible joint, resulting in some light cracking and looseness where the two boards come together. The cabinet is meant to be mounted using multiple screws through the backboards, coupled with the original hanging tabs at the top of the cabinet on both sides. Stately Chippendale style. Three quarter high chest with rectangular molded cornice over case fitted with three over two over three graduated long drawers. Fluted quarter column detail flanks the sides of the case, leading to base molding and ogee bracket feet. Appears to have original brasses intact, save for one missing backplate on center top drawer. Dresser is in good antique condition. Solid construction with internal dustboards for added rigidity. Backboards have been sleeved together and reinforced with nails for added support. Piece has original delivery tag fastened to the reverse. Though wording is difficult to decipher. There are a few surface dings to the face,and the wide plank top shows pitting and wear. EARLY 1800'S ANTIQUE AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE BLANKET CHEST TRUNK DRAWERS GRAB LOCK
Here is a fabulous antique American early 19th century Chippendale style footed pine blanket chest or trunk with drawers below. This delightful old trunk is 48 inches long by 21 1/2 inches front to back and 27 1/2 inches tall. The top chest is internally 44 1/2 inches long by 18 1/4 inches front to back by 15 inches deep. With a small lidded compartment 18 1/4 inches long by 5 inches wide by 4 inches deep as shown. The two lower drawers are hand dovetailed as shown in close ups and measure 20 1/4 inches wide by 16 1/2 inches front to back by 4 inches deep. Again, as stated under condition, I've included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the design, quality, construction and condition of this great antique blanket chest. As far as provenance, my consignor has owned the trunk for a number of years and remembers ... moreonly that it was acquired through an estate sale. Specifically, this is what he told me was his recollection: The story I was told is that a woman named Bessie Hicks bought the trunk while visiting Muncie Valley PA in the 1950's after WWII. She brought it back to Atlanta GA where she lived. When her estate was broken up it made it's way to Miami and then to Charleston. He added. It appears to have some minor repairs around the feet. Also some sign of blue paint under the bottom. The lock is very fascinating and secured with rose head nails. Lock and key work nicely. That's about all I remember about it. Anyway. It's appearance is consistent with early 1800's Pennsylvania work in the Chippendale style so I chose to report this information. It is certainly a lovely antique blanket chest in very nice condition. Antique reproduction Chinese Chippendale sofa made by Drexel. Has original fabric, still has original tag, in good clean condition, one owner, came from an estate of a lady in her late 90's, 83 1/2" long, the money will go into a fund for my church's missionary trip fund. 18th Century American Pennsylvania Chippendale Period Cupboard Cabinet c 1760-85
Please note. We have a very large collection of additional images of this piece available for your enjoyment below. Description: This listing is for a Fine Pennsylvania Chippendale Two Part Cupboard. Walnut, circa 1760-85. A finely crafted work, it features a beautiful hand carved molding around the crown, flanking a dovetailed top with nearly black levels of oxidization. Chamfered columns flank blind-cupboard doors with tombstone panels, the frame with glued through-tenon joints, locking with an original hand made iron lock and swinging open over original hinges with mostly original screws. The inside of the panels boast the rough unfinished chisel work of the artisan, shaping the panel to smoothly rabbet into the frame. All original shelves line the cupboard, the top shelf being half the depth of the other two, all shelves being permanent ... moreand sliding into the case from the back along hidden grooves. The cupboard case has wooden pins locking the tenoned joints together, the sides constructed of two pieces of solid walnut, joined at the back with pine secondary boards with traces of an early red stain, lined around the edges with original iron rose head nails. The lower case features three drawers, each with replaced hardware, though the integrity of the holes were preserved by using an old hole for the knob hardware and filling the other with a matched walnut wooden pin. An applied lip runs along the top of each drawer. The drawers feature hand dovetail construction with yellow pine secondary woods with a hand chamfered bottom. The case rests over four bracket feet, each appearing to be original(though a possible question around the right front and rear foot, as we believe them to be original but are sharper and thinner than the other two) with thin square original blocking strengthening each from behind.
