English George III Chippendale Antique Arm Chair Third Quarter of the 18th Century. C. 1760-80 Item# 090009RRW13 This listing is for a English George III Period Chippendale Walnut Arm Chair with a Vasiform splat over square molded legs. Probably circa 1760-80. The chair has great character in the finish, deeply oxidized dings and abrasions from years of use covered in countless applications of beeswax for a glowing smooth surface throughout. It has seen much use, many repairs evident throughout the chair, including repairs to the vulnerable arm supports and pieced out back feet. However, repairs are very early and have oxidized to become part of the overall character of the chair. The yoke crest rail has a soft slope to it. A single piece with the stiles tenoned into it(repaired at both joints) over a bold vasiform solid splat, this joining ... moreinto the molded shoe over the back rail. The arms are wonderfully shaped. Employing the cyma-curve that so dominated architecture and furniture designs of the mid-to-late 18th Century, creating a comfortable arm rest over finely turned baluster arm supports. These flank the trapezoidal light green leather upholstered slip seat seat, which appears to be a mid 20th century replacement. Turning the chair upside down, you can see a nearly black level of oxidization. Both front legs are square with subtle molding at the outer corners, the back legs square and canted, all four locked in place with a box stretcher. This is a wonderful antique 18th Century arm chair. Ideal for a home with a Colonial decor. Not a piece for serious collectors due to the numerous repairs, it is a visually delightful work for enjoyment in the home. Measurements: seat dimensions 23" by 17" 27" wide(arm to arm) x 38" high to crest. 18" high to seat. Condition Report: Early finish preserved under many later layers of wax. The dimensions are 22 1/2”W x 22”D x 36 1/2”H These chairs were made by a company that claims to make the most authentic reproduction Chippendale and Hepplewhite chairs in the world. People who were in the furniture business and knew chairs frequently commented on their fine quality. These chairs are being sold as part of an inventory liquidation at roughly 25% of what we paid for the chairs and the freight to get them here. These chairs are listed as local pickup only. However. English George III Chippendale Late 18th Century Mahogany Tilting Side Tea Table
Very Fine English Chippendale Period Highly Figured Mahogany Slipper Foot Tilt Top Tea Table Third quarter of the 18th Century. C. 1750-70 Item# 110005LHP25 The grace of this piece is found in the highly figured top. A single solid plank of mahogany hand planed carefully to create a perfect smooth surface. A glowing deep patina shines through the years of waxed layers preserving the entire piece. Hand carved fully original cleats connect the top to the base, with four hand made screws that appear to be original, and two later replaced screws attaching the cleats to the original top. A replaced brass catch on the underside of the table top functions fully to secure the table in a resting postion; the shape of the original brass catch was circular, still evident as an impression around the current catch. The pedestal tenons through the square ... morebase. With the letters"DL" still visible at the tenon and in photos below. These could possibly be a signature of the craftsman who designed this table. The pedestal is carefully turned shaft culminates in a vasiform baluster, the three legs locking into the shaft with tight dovetail joints. The cabriole leg form is tight and sprung, the table almost poised to leap; the lines curve down and terminate in sharp well formed oval slipper feet. This is a fine piece for any home. Working easily in any number of design scenarios. In the upward tilted position, it is ideal to bring beauty to that empty corner or fill a long wall with two chairs on either side. Naturally, it functions wonderfully as a tea table or common side table, bringing elegance to any collection of furnishings. In very fine condition, with a deep glowing patinated finish and in a well preserved state, this is an outstanding find for the collector and designer alike. Measurements: Top measures 26 1/2" wide(along the grain) x 26" wide(across the grain- the 1/2" difference would be from shrinking across grains over time) 41 1/2" high in tilted position. 27" high in rested position;

Antique Chippendale Chair Circa 1870-1890
Coral Gables Estate From a nonsmoking home You may pick this up in Key Largo This chair is a Chippendale style chair with a winged crest or turned up extremeties. In an original Chippendale. The ends would extend a good two inches; the ends of the crest rail are fluted, the center has a flute or shell-like motif. The open wood back splat has a vasiform look; the side posts are straight and are connected to the seat rail as is the bottom of the vasiform back splat. The crest rail is a Victorian interpretation of Chippendale's ribbon back which would have continued on to the back splat. The arms are curved and extend outward and have fluted hand rests. The upholstery is beige/light tan with a vertical pattern of flowers; the apron is wide and straight; the cabriole legs have wide knees and the feet are a Victorian variation of a club/pad ... morefoot which is usually found on Chippendale style chairs and on the original chairs. In photo#4. There is a corner brace and the nail/screw is not the original. Until C. 1840-1850, corner braces were added for extra strength. These fitted into slots in the seat rail and were simply glued. After C. 1840-1850, corner brackets were used. These were glued and screwed into the angle of the rails. The bracket in this chair is straight, this also shows a later piece. The wood appears to be mahogany. I would date the Chippendale style chair C. 1870-1890. Group of 6 Chippendale or Federal style drawer pulls. They don't all match. Magnet sticks to all of these unmarked pieces. Some have screws in the back. But don't look orginal. Top two match and measure 3 3/4 inches wide with the screw holes measuring 3 1/4 inches apart. They have a little lip on the back. Middle three match and measure 3 1/8 inches wide with one screw hole in the middle and a small nail hole at the bottom. They are flat backed. Bottom piece measures 3 3/4 inches wide with screw holes 2 1/2 inches wide and this piece is a little bent and is flat backed. Two short over three graduated drawers, the base having three drawers on bracket feet. The top has three replacement finials which are not attached, shown in the pictures) The finish and hardware are probably original though the nuts on all the pulls have been replaced by square ones. The creamer in this set is 2 3/4" tall and 5 1/2" across from spout to handle and the sugar is 2 3/4" tall and 6" across from handle to handle. Antique Early Chippendale-style Primitive Hand- Carved Wood Frame Mirror
Offered is an early Chippendale-style primitive mirror. Measure ~27" by ~10" by 1" thick. Simple woodwork on top and bottom panels with radial cutouts and a heart-shaped carved feature on top. There are radially chamfered moulding strips inside the frame and there is gold paint or gilding on them(Pic 4) There is a radial roll-off on the top and bottom panels(pic 3) The glass is silvered so the mirror couldn't have been made before 1835. The silver is missing or deteriorating- the glass is very fragile. The frame is probably made from pine. And there is a veneer about 1/16" thick on the face and sides. It is so dark it's hard to tell the wood, but it looks like cherry to me.The glass is held in by a series of triangular wooden pieces and the back is a shake shingle. What a beautiful rare set this is. I have not seen another one anywhere like it. This English Chippendale set by Johnson Brothers is awesome! It resembles a jumbo cup and saucer. But is actually a serving bowl and platter. The cup measures approx 9.5" across and 5.5" high. The platter/saucer measures approx 11.25" across. 1 sterling iced tea spoon Towle Chippendale pattern, 8" long, gorgeous pattern
I buy vintage linens and other antique goodies at local estate auctions to pass them along to you. This is an iced tea spoon by Towle Sterling in the Chippendale pattern. This is a discontinued pattern that apparently dates to 1937. The spoon measures 8" long. With a slender handle and narrow bowl. The pattern is quite simple and elegant, featuring raised lines going down the top of the handle and ending in delicate swirls on both top and bottom of the handle- please see the closeups for details. The pattern would complement other flatware patterns. It is marked on the back"Towle" and"Chippendale. It weighs 1.0 ounce but will ship as 8 oz. to allow for adequate protection. This is in good vintage condition. With a good shiny surface and some minor scratches. I gave it a preliminary polishing to make sure there was no deep ... morescratching or pitting, and it is in good shape but not'skinned. There is one black dot on the handle 1" from the end which you can examine with the zoom function; it may polish out. Please write in if you need any more information. It is stamped with CHIPPENDALE INTERNATIONAL SILVER COMPANY. It is in very good condition. There is no wear to the plating, the items needs a really good clean and polish to bring it up to its best.
