It is from a Fine estate in North Carolina with many fine quality antiques and primitives. The pictures do not even give this piece quite the justice it deserves. It is very sturdy and would be capable of being used regularly. If you so choose. I believe the wood is Ash wood and has beautiful grain detail. The back splat is all carved from a single piece, the slip seat is kept in place with pegs, and all of the joints are early hand-joined with pegs for the legs giving it the durability and stability that is retains today. Antique English 18th Century Chippendale Mahogany Corner Roundabout Chair
Description Beautiful period 18th century English mahogany corner chair. Circa 1755-1785. The fabric on the slip seat is easily replaced. Currently it is a red damask in excellent condition. The chair is very well-proportioned with nicely pierced slats and a desirable cabriole leg with pad foot. Provenance: Skinner auction house, MA. Condition: The chair is completely solid with no unstable elements. There is a patch on one of the handholds, a few small cracks that have been repaired on one of the slats, and a repair to the back leg. All of these issues are hard to see without careful inspection and all are completely stable. It is also possible that the valence may have been reshaped at some point. Vintage cast metal Chinese Chippendale chair in need of restoration. This is the taller version. Measuring 36" high. The seat stands 23" from the floor. Multi coats of paint, chipping, peeling, worn. The vinyl covered seat has been partially removed and needs to be replaced. A side rung has separated from the back leg and has been crudely repaired. No other broken or missing parts. High End English 1800-1899 Mahogany Chippendale Style Arm Chair Open Talon Feet High End English 1800-1899 Mahogany Chippendale Style Arm Chair Open Talon Feet Highly carved and shaped high end chair. This piece has been professionally restored. 1 arm had a one inch fracture-repaired.3 talons have been carved and replaced. One tiny 1/16 flee bite of and inch square needle point gone on the side of the chair. This is original needlepoint and their is a very small padding dip in the center of the chair. This chair is in good condition. I have the true pleasure of offering a very rare OPEN TALON FOOT Chippendale Chair. The partial history of this piece goes back to Grandmother to Mother to Grand Daughter and I don't know where it goes from there. This finely carved work of art is made of finest very thick solid mahogany. The back splat is ... morea solid piece as well. No veneer. It is a heavy chair at best. The Talons are, of course, all hand carved and are open from the ball as can be seen in the sample photos. They are one of the things that make this piece so rare. I am not much of a needlepoint expert but if you look closely at the fabric you will see it goes from a wider stitch to a fine, almost linen like stitch in the middle of the chair. It is in very good condition and therefore I did not have it replaced. I would very much like to keep it but I can't afford it.
