Top of seat rail is 18" Upholstered seat is NOT screwed in- seat measures 21" W at the front. 16 3/4" at the back and 16 1/2" D. Back of seat slat measures 10 1/4" W x 22" H Claw and Ball foot measures 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 3" H The shell on the front seat rail measures 3 7/8" W x 3 1/2" H. If you want any other measures or photos. Please ask. Condition issues: This chair needs a little bit of tender loving care. The arm joints just under where your hands would rest are loose. See the 5th and 6th photos. The vertical joint beneath the arm rests need to be glued. There is also a small piece of wood missing at the top of the vertical arm support. That is in the 5th photo. The front leg needs to be glued the to front seat rail too. This chair is very heavy and STURDY even with above mentioned joint issues. The seat cover needs to be done. The existing one is a needlepoint that has condition issues- HOLES to be exact. The seat back slat varnish is odd. It is not shiny at all. I cant describe it. You might be able to see it in the 4th photo. With proper love and repair as well as a new seat cover. This can be an unbelievable accent chair, desk chair or dining chair. Again. They have country Chippendale backs, scrolled carved arms on the armchairs and all the chairs have a scrolled mahogany frame around the removeable seat cushions. The chair skirts have an X carved crest across the front. The back legs are flared and the front legs are carved cabriole legs. The chairs have the old finish that isn’t black, but a really dark brown. The chairs have a couple of small cracks on the wood that will be detailed out prior to shipping. The chairs are all tight and sturdy.

I ordered this beautifully crafted chair at a doll show around 1970. I have had a doll sitting in it most of the time so it is in like new condition. It is a dark wood with a black tapestry floral print on the seat. The furniture maker who made this said it is an exact replica of a chippendale chair of the Victorian era. It is very firm. Vintage and Unique Handmade Chippendale Style Large Doll Chair
Vintage and Unique Handmade and Carved Chippendale Style Large Doll upholstered corner/ gentlemans' chair with cabriole legs This is just a spectacular doll chair. Craftsman made and signed with what I believe is a burnt or debossed stamp with a distinctive cursive capital R within a box. We don't know the maker. Among the many features are carved cabriole legs with robust carved shells on the knees and slipper feet. Hand shaped, splayed saber legs for the back or unseen legs. Sinuous curves along the back rail and nicely placed piercings set up the sloped upholstery along the back. Artful chip carving ends the back arm rail descending to a beautiful nob carving just in case the gentleman(doll) needed a lower hand support to rise. Serpentine curved skirt. Of note: this is all carved in solid wood which we believe to be walnut. The ... morepanel that supports the seat, with the mark underneath, may be a thin laminated board. We have not examined underneath. The chair is about 10 1/2 inches tall by 10 by 10 inches square. It is in very good vintage condition with some minor staining/ dirt on the patterned upholstery fabric on the front and more prominent staining on the back felt fabric. Also an area about 2 inches long along the top of the felt on the back where the fabric edge has separated from the wood. Also there is a small area on the top of the frame in the corner where you can see separation of the wood joints that could be regaled. Overall the chair is very sturdy and ready to use. Up for sale is this beautiful antique circa 1760- 1780 Mahogany Massachusetts Chippendale Side Chair. 43" tall. Features elegant cabriole legs that end in claw-and-ball feet with leafy foliage details on the knees, centered carved shells on the serpentine crest and front seat rails, and blunt-ended ears. Very Good Condition. The seat is removable(drop-in. Not screwed in) so you could easily re-upholster if desired. The seat is velvet on top and a brighter purple silk/satin on the underside. There is one previous repair(a small triangular replacement piece) on the upper left side of the pierced splat(see photo 4 where the green arrow is pointing) This chair comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home and there are no foul odors. 19th Century 1800-1899 Mahogany Chippendale Style Arm Chair Open Talon Feet
I have the true pleasure of offering a very rare OPEN TALON FOOT Chinese Chippendale Chair. The partial history of this piece goes back to Grandmother to Mother to Grand Daughter and I don't know where it goes from there. This finely carved work of art is made of finest very thick solid mahogany. The back splat is a solid piece as well. No veneer. It is a heavy chair at best. The Talons are, of course, all hand carved and are open from the ball as can be seen in the sample photos. They are what makes this piece so rare. I am not much of a needlepoint expert but if you look closely at the fabric you will see it goes from a wider stitch to a fine, almost linen like stitch in the middle of the chair.
