Listed is a matched set of antique bentwood chairs from J& J Kohn measuring 33.5 inches tall by 15 inches wide and 15.5 inches deep.They are in almost 100% original condition with wear patterns consistant with age that contrast wonderfully with the untouched original patinated(grime) finish. Description This bentwood carrying case originally held a Singer Model 99 sewing machine that was manufactured in 1928. Sometimes referred to as a 3/4 size. It comes with a key that will lock and unlock the top to the base. This case has the space where a knee controller bar would be inserted. Outer dimensions of the base section are 17 1/4 inches wide, 8 1/4 inches from front-to-back, and 2 1/2 inches tall. The domed shaped top section is 9 1/2 inches tall. The handle adds another 2 1/4 inches to the height when it is standing straight up. The locking mechanism is marked with part number 124516. These gorgeous chairs have a beautiful aged patina and feature a bentwood frame and an embossed seat. All 8 have the original paper labels(see picture) Which state a patent notice for March 29, 1910. These chairs are local pick up only. I'm no expert. But loved these chairs and planned on restoring them years ago. never got to it, but still think they could be nice. There are enough pieces to make eight(8) chairs. They all have the Thonet labels on the bottom and all the original components. cant find the screws to the disassembled ones) They have rust, dust, and a good amount of delamination, but maybe they can be used for parts by someone who restores these old chairs.

The seats super cool it made of one solid piece of wood that's been bent back around onto itself. The what I'm sure was once leather seat is long gone, but it could be replaced. For auction is one beautiful pair of matching original Thonet bentwood armchairs in pale yellow vinyl. They are in excellent condition. The walnut finish frames show very little wear. And scuffs and marks on the legs are minimal. Armrests have just a touch of wear on the edges. One arm on one of the chairs has a small notch in it(closeup photo provided) but that is the lone flaw. The vinyl cushions are original and have nary a stitch out of place. They have been thoroughly cleaned and have no rips or tears. Model No. 9. Designed by August Thonet circa 1900. Is a variation on the earlier famous model No. 14 chair, designed by his father Michael. This elegant bentwood classic is a masterpiece in its construction and production: the projecting frame that forms both the backrest and arm-rest is bent into its form from a single piece of solid beech wood. It is complete with no broken off pieces in the wood structure and even the wire sifter is untorn and fully attached to the frame. This would be a wonderful addition to your Country Primitive Home. Hanging on the wall, inside or out or propped on your fireplace mantlel! The large bentwood band surrounding the frame is secured by huge staple-like pieces of metal and metal tacks. I am not sure what purpose this sifter was used for. But may have been used for sifting grains or ore. After searching online for other 19 th century Shoe Stools that were marked“Thom McAn” I found that this Bentwood Stool was for a Shoe Salesman. And was made by the Austrian furniture makers Jacob Josef Kohn. J& J Kohn who are known for their Bentwood designs. Although this stool does not retain its original paper label from this company, I found many other examples online that were identical to it. Measuring 24” long by 12” wide and 14” tall this Bentwood Shoe Salesman Stool retains its original dark green oil cloth seat, which is worn. The gold& black painted surface, was added sometime during the early 20 th century. As a customer would admiring new shoes they would also be looking at the brass“Thom McAn” sign. Vintage Athabaskan Indian Birch-Bark Basket w/ Colorful Bentwood Rim
Up for auction is a beautifully crafted birchbark basket made by an craftsman from the Athabaskan. One of the Indian tribes from Alaska and Canada. In times of old, versions of this basket would have been intended for use to hold wild rice or other foodstuffs. This beautifully made basket is constructed of birchbark with the white side outward. It has the most beautiful woven rim made of polished roots. A bentwood ring helps stabilize the basket's rim, and an inner ring stablilzed and decorates the inside. A really nice one! This Native American basket is a small-to-medium size. Measuring 5 7/8" x 5 1/8" across at the rim and 2" deep. This attractive artifact is in pristine condition, with no breaks or other damage, including the decorative rim holding it together, and the bentwood rim support. The underlying bark is also ... morein perfect shape with no breaks or cracks. I have taken photos of all sides and as you can see, the basket has an outstanding display quality and will make a stunning addition to someone's collection. 1860's -1890's Mule Ear Oak Bentwood Rocker with Original Patina
Mule Ear Oak Bentwood Rocker with Original Patina 1860’s–1890’s All Original Rocking Chair for children or large display doll. t’s made out of Oak. Wicker/cane seat insert, and Bentwood Armrests. Condition: Superb Considering this is over 145 years old and all original Patina. Please see descriptive details in photos. The wicker/cane seat insert is perfectly woven with great show patina. As shown. There is small piece of wood missing from one arm rests shown in picture#7. Other close-up pictures show it great look. The chair is sturdy; however, if used for more than display it might not last long under vigorous rough play by children– I’m not an expert on this but it is original and I am not sure if it would support a bouncing child and I want to err this on the side of safety. If used to display with a toddler sized doll it would look fantastically ... moresublime. DIMENSIONS: This little rocker is 27 3/4" in height from the bottom of the rocker to the top of the Mule Ear on each side.
