another great antique find this beautiful antique child's rocking chair has some amazing carvings and the bent wood arms are a really nice touch on the bottom of this chair is a note that says. for hazel murphys birthday" hazel murphy 5 yrs old june 10-1897" this chair measures aprox. 30" tall aprox. 27 1/2" long at the rocking legs aprox. 15" across the width of the arms aprox. 12" from floor to top of seat at the front there currently is a brown paint covering this chair. im not sure of when this was painted or how many times note some minor damages as pictured a leg had at some time been cracked and a wire been added for added support. see the crack at the arm/seat attachment. please see pics and use your own judgement you are buying it as-is and as-seen in pics. Antique Thonet Rocking Chair / Bentwood / Rocker "THONET Burned Imprint"
I am not sure of the actual age of this rocking chair but if you are here looking you might have an idea:o) Along with the"THONET" imprint there is either an X6 or 9X(not sure which of the two it is suppose to be) imprinted on several parts of the chair. The chair is in very well condition except for the ends of the rocker as you can see in the picture. The seat and backrest are not broken anywhere. There are a few spots of white paint on the chair. I did not want to attempt to remove it and mess anything up. There is also on broken screw on the bottom board. The piece that would be behind your ankles when seated. Also has nicks and scuffs. Despite the minor imperfections this is a beautiful chair and worth restoration! Listing as a"Pick Up" only but would be willing to ship if you make the arrangements.

Antique Operators Stool - Industrial Barstool - Drafting Chair- Bentwood-Vintage
Available here is the fourth of four antique industrial stools I am listing. This beautiful stool was probably used by a telephone switchboard operator or possibly by a architect as a drafting chair. This would be perfect as a repurposed barstool! The stool body is completely made out of wood. Unlike many of the later versions. The swivel mechanism is steel. It dates to the early 1900's. Probably between 1910 and 1915. The stool is in good functioning condition. The chair height is adjustable by swiveling it one way or the other. The caning is in good shape. And it supported me(pushing 200 lbs) without issue. It features a flared four-legged base with intact and stable heel ring. Supported by bent wooden rods affixed to the base legs. It has a contoured backrest. The footrest has what looks like a splinter in the wood, but this was how ... morethe chair was originally crafted. The wood is wrapped around the base and the split is where the ends connected. The seat diameter is approximately 16.5" and the footrest diameter is approximately 18.25" When the chair is swiveled to its lowest position the seat is approximately 28" from the floor. I have listed 3 other matching stools and would be willing to make a deal for all of them. This is listed as local pick up only. Large Signed Vintage Athabaskan Indian Birch-Bark Basket Scoop w/ Bentwood Rim
I'm going on vacation for a couple of weeks so these will be my last listings before I return. But I'll be back with more baskets on June 16th. Up for auction is a beautifully crafted birchbark basket made by a craftsman from the Athabaskan. One of the Indian tribes from Alaska and Canada. It is in the shape of a large scoop; in times of old, versions of this basket would have been intended for use in the harvesting of wild rice or other grains. This beautifully made basket is constructed of birchbark with the white side outward. Its rim was thickly wrapped with roots, and a bentwood support helps stabilize the basket's rim. It is signed and dated on the underside, but I can only read, Northway, what looks like"Tamaran" and"Alaska. The date was added, but is now totally illegible. This beautiful basket makes a nice ... morepiece for display or could still be used for its original purpose if desired. This Native American basket is. As noted, a nice large, measuring 12" x 8½" across at the rim and about 4" deep when sitting level. This attractive artifact is in pristine condition, with no breaks or other damage, including the decorative rim holding it together, and the bentwood rim support. The underlying bark is also in perfect shape with no breaks or cracks. I have taken photos of all sides and as you can see, the basket has an outstanding display quality and will make a really nice addition to someone's collection. Inside is a built in pincushion. Two tiny balls of thread, a miniature, doll size needle book and a sterling silver thimble sitting on a velvet thimble rest. The thimble has the British silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1903 and the maker's mark for James Fenton. It's about an American child's size 1(11 mm diameter opening) The little needlebook is hand made and amazing for the size. It even has little flannel needle pages. Possibly referred to as a red eye. This machine is in great display condition. Im not sure what makes it a red eye but the numbers come up as a model made in 1910. There is no knee bar but im sure it can be found here on ebay. I plugged the machine in and slid lever over under black cover to test and the machine works great as does the light. Not sure if the caning is original but it is in very good condition; the last picture shows a few very minor breaks in the chair seat. Vintage. Mid-Century Modern, Bentwood Chair. There is no label or maker's mark but it looks like a Thonet bent plywood chair from the Eames Era of the 1950s. The finish is a medium, to medium-dark brown. 30 1/2" tall, 18" deep, 18 1/2" wide and weighs 16 pounds. Condition: Normal wear for this vintage. Two small nicks on the edge of the seat. Some small scuffs a round the edges. Wear to the finish on the back rest. Several scuffs around the base of the legs. Sturdy and comfortable. Overall, good to very good condition. A Nice Vintage Singer Sewing Machine Model#99! From a recent estate. We offer this Singer Sewing Machine. It comes with everything you see in the pictures- the instruction book is for the model 66 but we believe that the manual uses similar instructions for the Model 99. This machine is in very good used condition- the cord that you see operates the light but we could not find the cord with the foot or knee pedal. All together it weighs ... moreabout 35 pounds so shipping will be a little extra. This machine is in very good used condition with minor issues that you would expect- the estate could not find the foot or knee pedal so we could not test it- the cord that you see is for the light and we plugged it in and the light worked just fine with the switch. Comes with the key and it works just fine. Some of the minor issues: the wood top of the case is solid with just light wear- the gold decals are mostly in place on both sides with just a little wear- one of the wood stops is missing underneath on the inside of the top of the case- on the wood base. Some minor pealing of the veneer on two of the corners with a few tiny pieces missing- the bottom of the base is covered with a thin piece of solid wood and this is slightly wavy and has a few splits- as mentioned, there is no foot pedal- the machine is somewhat dusty and dirty with normal age wear and needs a good cleaning and polishing-

Even the massively thick end caps are solid oak- not a single piece of veneer. All original armrests are intact with no breakages at all(rare to see them in this condition) There is a panel on the underside of one of the benches that shows" Charleston W. Va. but that is the only identification that we can discern as to a maker or designer- no other marks or marking were found once lifted from the floor. On the underside of one bench was a bank book from the National Bank of Athens which had opened in 1917 and has since become non-existent. Also. Due to the solid seal underneath the benches, the underside of the Oak is awesome! Actually appears as it did when first installed. Original, bentwood, arms are all intact with no breakages at all. Although no markings were found. They appear to be Thonet chairs, in my opinion. These are swivel only chairs, no tilting. They are matching except that 2 are ivory color vinyl and 2 are beige color vinyl. These chairs are in good overall working condition, solid/sturdy and with multiple tears to the vinyl coverings. At some time, holes were drilled at the bottoms of all the legs, it looks like there was possibly some sort of casters or feet attached at some point, but not really sure, so needs some work there. The swiveling mechanism is good on all chairs. The arm rest components are all good with no issues for recovering. One plywood armrest riser piece shows ... morea crack which was repaired(glued) and looks fine. All four backrest components are good for recovering. One of the backrests has some separation of the two halves. All the seats are good for recovering. All the plywood components are in very good condition except for the issues noted above regarding the legs bottoms and the one armrest riser with repaired crack. It has tight veneer all around with some flaws to the original finish but the wood/case itself and a good amount of the finish is in good shape and it can be used as is or some finish restoration could be used. There isn't a key but a small screwdriver is included to operate the lock. The knee control bar isn't with it but the bar holder is in the lid. Three wonderful Great Northern Chair Company Bentwood Chairs. These fine chairs are part of the fine heritage of USA manufacturing and are stamped underneath with 1948. 113. Three are identical and are in original condition with the stamps underneath. One chair has had some refinishing done but is close in color and has had the stamp removed. Otherwise it is identical. Antique Thonet Bentwood "Occasional Stool" Ottoman
Up for auction today is a Thonet Bentwood Occasional Stool attributed to Michael Thonet. I have seen this early design dated between 1910 and the 1930s. While it is commonly found with a woven cane seat. This stool has a reversable black vinyl upholstered seat and a molded plywood table top. This seating is original to the stool as it was designed without holes or a groove to support a woven cane seat. It is white painted bentwood that has turned to more of a cream color due to age. It measures approx. 16" x 16" and is 17-1/4" to the top of the vinyl seat. There is some paint loss. As can be seen in the photos, but it is sturdy and well made. The vinyl upholstered seat is in very good condition without any tears or scratches, just some light usage marks can be seen. An antique Hammond model 2 Universal Typewriter with its original Oak Bentwood Cover. Dating to circa 1900. We are pleased to present this antique Hammond model 2 Universal Typewriter for your consideration. Built on an Oak base. The Typewriter is complete with its original bentwood cover. This Hammond model is noted for several innovative features. Including an interchangeable type shuttle which allowed different type styles(fonts) to be used. Similar to the interchangeable type balls used on IBM Selectric Typewriters. We date this Typewriter to around 1900. The Typewriter(with cover in place) measures 7-1/8 inches high. 14 inches wide, and 14-3/4 inches deep. It weighs 19 pounds 10 ounces. A portion of an original instruction sheet is found affixed to the inside of the cover(and can be seen in the last picture) While in good shape overall. ... moreWe did note some issues during our inspection of the machine. The metal clip on the base that secures the cover on the right side is bent outward. The cover has a few chips on the top right edge(towards the back) and shows scattered small spots of paint, mostly on its top surface. The Typewriter Platen shows general crazing, with some loss of surface material(see close-up photo) The thin bar at the front that lifts has a broken weld joint(see close-up photo, we've secured it with tape to prevent further damage during shipping) We did not attempt to test the Typewriter, but the mechanical condition seems good. Keys depress properly. The space bar moves the carriage. Metal components are generally clean and free from any excessive dirt build up. We rate the overall condition as very good. Vintage 1965 Thonet Style Bentwood Rocker, owned by 1 Family
This is a Vintage Thonet Style Bentwood Rocker with original cane back and seat. I purchased new in 1965 in Birmingham. Mich. furniture store. Chair has been with me ever since. Extremely comfortable. Measurements floor to top of back = 39" seat depth =17 1/2" seat width = 17 1/2" from front curve to end of rocker = 41"This type of chair was first created in England during the Victorian Era. Has been popular ever since. Seems to go with all styles of decor. During the 1960's, this Bentwood Rocker was considered a Modern piece and was extremely popular. Originally this chair was stained walnut with natural rattan seat and back. About 5 years ago I thought it would look great in black. So I spray painted the chainr. Including the rattan, a charcoal black. Then I used very fine sand/paper and sanded about 10 small areas ... moreto give the chair a whole new look. I still love the chair. It is in great condition.
