Marked: A.S. 781 on inner arm(perhaps Art Specialty Co. 37"L x 24"H x 15"W(Seat is 12½" off ground) This could have been used in a patio. Garden, or indoors by a piano. Beautiful Victorian/Deco design with spiraling intricate framework. Bench is made from a very old slab of pine(or at least looks like pine) The fabric has also been on there a long time and is aged as you can see. The buyer can choose to reupholster the piece. Details about payment and pick-up added. 1930's- 1940's Art Deco Upholstered Chair Chair was re-upholstered in the mid 1980's by a professional upholsterer. Fabric is a burgundy/maroon/purple velvet that is similar to what was originally on this piece. Similar chairs sell in antique stores for upwards of $500 or more. Please refer to pictures for details of the piece. Condition: This piece I am listing in good condition. The fabric is in great condition. Just needs to be cleaned, as it is a little dusty. The dust cover over the bottom was torn free, and is missing. I believe that it was removed because it got snagged on a nail, nail caused no other damage. Wood is in good condition. This is an early to mid 1950s 2nd generation chair produced by Zenith of Gardena. California with 3 inch(larger) pucks and thick fiberglass and a heavy base. This has all its original rubber glides. It has no Herman Miller markings at all, which is typical of an early chair like this. There is a hand written number 46 on the chair from the factory and a metal tag that says J.L.H. 19715 which is from the company that purchased the chair and used it originally(possibly The J.L. This beauty is an antique swan arm rocking chair. This particular piece does not have any obvious dating marks. But the style and the materials are true to the late 19th/ early 20th century piece. I believe the upholstery to be original. Although I have no conformation. It has a small quarter size tear in the seat wear the bend of the sitter's left knee would lie, other than this, i found no other issues with the fabric. I am not sure of the wood type. But have been told by several people that it looks mahogany. Pictures 2,3,4 are the piece without furniture oil. All other are of the piece after oil has been applied. There are some minor blemishes on the wood due to 100yrs of normal use, but over all this is a sound piece that can be used regularly or would be an amazing collectible if restored.
