The name of the person who actually made these chairs isn't known to me yet but we know for certain they were made for use at the Horn Palace in San Antonio, a restaurant and saloon operated by Billie Keilman. This great pair of vintage industrial leather chairs would be ideal for a front hall or office. They were made by the Jasper Chair Company and they date from 1955. As you can see from the photo of the tag on one of the chairs' bottom. The seat is 19" high, the arm rest 26" and the chair back 36" The foot print of the chairs are about 22" square. The seat on one of the chairs is ripped and the fabric lining on the bottoms of the chairs are either damaged or gone. For your consideration is one(1) vintage EAMES LA FONDA brown naugahyde over cream/parchment shell Herman Miller armchair. All-original vintage Alexander Girard-designed La Fonda. Both armshell and base. Overall good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear such as fading. Marks, and surface crazing on the naugahyde vinyl that don't detract from the overall functionality of the chair. The crazing was fairly common in naugahyde Herman Miller chairs as the vinyl expands and contracts depending on temperature. When the chairs move from cold to warm, the vinyl expands, creating the surface crevices on the vinyl. We've seen restorers successfully seal the crevices by heating up the vinyl and closing them up, but they leave scars, so we would recommend reupholstering the chair with fabric or concealing the marks with a cushion or throw, ... morebut in any case, we'll leave that to the eventual owner. Selling as is. The parchment armshell is in great shape with no integral damage. The original chrome base has pitting. All-original La Fonda chairs are becoming increasingly rare. This pair of vintage arm rests came off of a wooden chair we found at an estate sale in Oregon a few years ago. Parts only. There is not a complete chair. The chair they were taken from was very old and was too much of a project to restore or repair. Scuffs, scratches, general wear. No cracks that I can see. Presented for your consideration from a recent Western Pennsylvania estate is an original antique Child's Windsor Arm Chair. Circa 1880's. The solid Oak? chair is approximately 14" across the seat, depth of seat 13" overall height 26" and height from floor to seat 12" The chair features turned spindles and cross stretchers, continuous curved bow back arm chair and a shaped seat. This charming chair has retrained the original finish and original partial paper label. This wonderful antique chair is in great condition with wear consistent with age and use. As shown in picture 11, is a very minor chip on the back of the seat. The chair weighs almost 6 pounds, unpackaged. Colors may vary slightly due to reflection of lights. Gorgeous Designer HandCarved Branch Large Arm Chair Red Toile Plus Fabric 1980's
Beautiful 1980's hand carved designer"branch" chair. It is carved to look as if it is made of knotty branches that have been hand hewn. It is heavy and very sturdy. Ronald Reagan sat in this exact style chair for an interview once and we couldn't believe it because it was obviously the same maker. It is lovely and we bought it at one of the showrooms in the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. We reupholstered it in a red and cream toile fabric and it still looks good save the seat which needs cleaning and is a tad faded and the base of the feet have a bit of wear from various vacuum sessions. The company continued to produce whole suites for the parlor. Bedroom, and dining room. Pieces were in Golden Oak or mahogany. Berkey& Gay’s Golden Oak pieces have very high relief in their carving, which ranged from grottoesque fantasy creatures to swirling French flourishes.
