There was also a matching sofa which I don't have, and the original colors were a bright blue and bright red- very much primary colors. Though a matching set from the same suite, each chair is slightly different in the upholstery details with piping and pleating. These chairs are the ultimate in Art Deco furniture! Both chairs still have the identifying Nemmer brass tag on their backs signifying that the mohair fabric is original(though not in the best shape) The fabric is faded and has wear. I have shown a picture of the worst wear on each chair in the last group of photos. The construction on these chairs is still excellent. They are solid and heavy. This is a quote from a Nemmer ad which I found online from 1930- Every Suite has Nemmer's Exclusive Patent Metal Bottom. No Webbing- No Slats. This bottom will last a lifetime. They weren't lying- these chairs are of a solid. Sturdy construction. A 1960 Nemmer ad reads, Custom- crafted in Nemmer's factory at 20 Avery St. by long-time employees, highly experienced, using only quality wood, filling, springs, and other components—featuring our patented, light-weight metal bottom—all made to last for years and years. Each chair has a wood embellishment on each arm and sits on 4 grooved wooden feet. Overall, these chairs are in excellent internal and external structural condition- the ribbing, wood sections and detailed upholstery piping and pleating is still incredible. They are scratched. Faded/water marks? have scratches, scuffs and a couple peel marks? They appear to have had sat outside for a period of time but not sure how long. And the edges are worn and has one ding mark on the back side edge(see picture) it doesn't go all the way through the edge it is only one sided. One chair has some spots on the back and bottom of the chair. There are four shock mounts on each chair, but only three screws/bolts per chair so one chair is missing one bolt; the screw/bolts are somewhat rusty as well. One chairs mounts are also missing part of the rubber/glue that holds the mount on if you zoom in on the pictures you can see it. Please review pictures as they are a part of this description and so you can see more of the condition in your own detail. I haven't seen any cracks or chips, just wear along the edges and scratches on the chairs. There are no labels on the bottoms of these chairs only the embossed markings. I have combined those markings into one picture. The marking with the circled star-like is on the bottom of the one with the spots on it, the one with the circled"S" is on the bottom of the other one. These are good sturdy chairs and with a little TLC can become great chairs once again. Nice fibers and fair color- there is fading(water marks) on the seats of both chairs, just need to be cleaned up a bit and a little reconditioning is all. THIS AUCTION DOES NOT INCLUDE THE BASES! FABULOUS Antique LOUIS XVI Blue Oval Back French Arm Chair!
This is a really GORGEOUS antique French blue velvet upholstered arm chair with an oval upholstered back! Purchased at an estate sale they said it was very old. This is a WONDERFUL chair made in the style of Louis the XVI and I believe it dates back to the late 1800's. Obviously it had been reupholstered as the upholstery is in EXCELLENT condition with no rips. Holes, tears or fading anywhere. The blue color is just so FANTASTIC! It has brass nailhead tacks everywhere there is material- even on the back of the chair! The wood is possibly a fruitwood or walnut. I am not sure but it is a WARM BEAUTIFUL color! It has GORGEOUS gilded(probably painted) carved flowers on the crest of the back and the legs have all kinds of carving with a flower on each and deep fingertip grooved column carvings with gold too. American New England Knuckle Arm Sack Back Windsor Chair Probably Massachusetts or Rhode Island c. 1780-1800 Item# 130102JGG13 Poplar(seat) Maple(legs. Stretchers, arm supports, outside and underside of knuckles) Oak(arm rail. Crest rail) Hickory(spindles) This is a very fine American Sack Back Knuckle Arm Windsor Chair. Crafted in the New England States, probably Massachusetts or Rhode Island c. 1780-1800. It is a high style piece, the six long and tapered hickory spindles tapering through the round oak crest rail, this wrapping in a perfect arch to tenon through the oak arm rail, which continues out to terminate in carved knuckle arm holds. The arm holds are pieced, the oak arm rail forming the primary interior while the rest of the knuckle on the side and bottom are of carved maple, attached to the arm rail with tiny wooden pins. The flow ... moreand precision of these knuckles brings the entire chair's form together, being both bold and comfortable as they splay outward on either side. The arm rail rests upon turned maple arm supports. These with a slightly swollen medial baluster embellished with paired parallel scratched-bead channels crowned and footed with very sharp ring turnings. The oval seat is scooped and carved, a thin grooved channel framing the spindles, the wear of the seat revealing much of the earlier layers of red paint. The legs tenon through the seat in the normal fashion. These with the common ring-and-baluster turnings terminating in a long tapered foot, contracting slightly faster than a smooth taper would dictate in the Rhode Island manner. The H-form stretchers have a soft swell, the medial stretcher with ring-turnings on either side. Perhaps what makes this form so successful is the same thing that has led to some looseness in it's joints: the chair has an action-oriented profile. Leaning almost forward like it is ready to start a race. While a more squared leg splay would be stronger and more well-balanced, this chair was not designed to be a restive form. This listing is for a 3-piece set of 2 matching“his and her” wicker rockers and 1 arm chair that are probably from the 1930’s or 40’s. These pieces feature a high back. Wrap around form fitting arms and spring construction with newer foam cushions( a soft floral in multi tones of jade green, cocoa brown, light grey, tan and white) for comfortable seating. The cushions were in plastic bags so they are very clean. The springs are original and still functional but could be re-tied if cushions were not being used(see photos to evaluate their condition) The finish is a dark stain or varnish that appears to be original and has crazed over the years. It is worn off in places but that only adds to the patina and charm of these vintage pieces. They have been given a light cleaning and the finish remained intact- I have rubbed my hand over them and ... moredetect no flaking or peeling. If a gloss or sheen is desired, they could be given a coat of spray varnish or urethane. The wicker is in good condition on the arm chair and the smaller of the two rockerswith the exception of one broken piece of lattice on each- arm chair: bottom right front near leg, small rocker: back lower right(not seen when cushion is in place) Some of the vertical pieces are missing on the back of the larger rocker(see photos# 9& 10) and the front leg wraps on the arm chair- a small piece remains and it could be glued or removed. These repairs could be completed by someone who is handy. Another option would be back cushions. The runners of the rockers, ball-footed legs of the arm chair, and all support pieces are sound and free from cracks or breaks and will provide sturdy support. Like any gently used vintage item, they are not perfect and show light wear but they are comfortable and in essentially good condition with only minor signs of age as noted. The dimensions of the three regular chairs are 37 1/2" Tall at the back. 18 1/2" tall in front at the sitting point, The front is 18 1/2" wide and the rear is 15 1/2" wide, the chair is 17" deep. The arm chair is 39" Tall in the rear, 18" Tall to the seat, 26 1/2 Tall to the arms, the front is 23" wide, the rear is 18" wide, the arms are 21" wide at the rear and 26 1/2" wide at the front. The arm chair is 18" deep. These chairs are really solid and are in great condition with a few marks from regular use from over the years. It has a chipped carved Art Nouveau design on the top(pic#2) It has nicely turned spindles. This dates to the 1890s to early 1900s. It still retains a partial original makers label(pic#5) Unfortunately I cannot make out the maker as not all the label is in place(H.L. Day*ons& Co. Chairs) It is solid. Sturdy and usable. Has typical squeaks when rocking but is solid. Probably restored 10-20 years ago or so. The seat has a re-glued center split(pic#4) No breaks or repairs on the arms, legs or spindles. It looks like at least one of the screws in the back was replaced. I noticed a couple of small age cracks in the upper crest(pic#2) Has some minor dings, scratches, scuffs, etc. as to be expected on a chair over 100 years old. ... morePrefer local pick-up. Vintage ASE All Steel Industrial Metal Office Arm Chair Mid Century Modern
For auction is one vintage All Steel Equipment(ASE) armchair from the 1960s. Beautiful. Well-designed brushed steel frame and original upholstery. The frame is spotless and the upholstery is in fantastic condition; not a nick or tear to be found. It is upholstered in a sharp blend of black vinyl and black fabric, and has been thoroughly cleaned. The frame has also been cleaned and polished. The only flaw is that the padding in the seat has deteriorated somewhat and the front edge of the seat slumps a little(see photos) and there's some yellow dust coming out underneath. However, it looks like it would be possible to re-pad the seat cushion while using the original upholstery, as it's stapled around the bottom of the seat. I have the amazing. For auction is one vintage Domore metal armchair from the late 1960s or early 1970s. It is in excellent original condition and has been thoroughly cleaned and polished top to bottom. The upholstery(black vinyl with a black cloth seat) is in great shape aside from a few light scratches here and there and a small nick in the top right corner on the back(see photos) The armrests are made of solid walnut and are also in great shape aside from a couple of dings. For auction is one vintage. 1960s-era All Steel Equipment metal swivel chair in fantastic original condition. It is painted a silvery gray color and is upholstered in green vinyl. The upholstery is in perfect condition; not a stitch out of place and free rips, nicks or stains. There is one faint scratch on the back of the back pad, which you can see in the photos. The beautiful, curved base features black plastic protector plates on the ends, and the armrests are made of the same black plastic. The metal parts are free of dings and dents, and the paint is in excellent condition overall, though there are small scuffs and scratches common to use. Much less than one would expect on a chair this age, however. Superb Monterey Furniture Paddle Arm Chair in Spanish Red Floral Motif Rope Seat
Superb Monterey paddle arm chair with rope seat support in original Spanish Red finish with floral motif on back. This chair was in a hotel in Benson. Arizona that was closed and had been boarded up for the past 57 years. I believe the finish and the rope to be original and untouched. The bold Spanish Red is a striking contrast to the black iron straps. Whimsical multicolored flowers decorate the chair back. There are some yellow crayon markings on one side under the seat, and also under one arm, which I believe are original to the piece. There is also a large staple under one arm that looks like it might have held a tag. Condition is excellent. There is some scuffing on the bottom of the front apron. On the upper back, and to the iron straps. Where the black paint on the straps is worn, red paint shows underneath. No cushions. This is Chair"B" as marked on a piece of tape and placed on the chair and base to identify which chair you are purchasing as there are two that I am selling at the same time. This one has a label on the bottom of the chair with a date stamp of 1977. The color may appear different on your screen. But it is a very nice and bright orange. This chair shows some wear from use but is in very nice condition. There are no tears or holes in the orange material. There are a couple of minor spots from use. Stitching seems to be in good condition, couldn't find any loose strings. Fiberglass shell with orange upholstered vinyl. Chair ... moreswivels around 360 degrees, and all four wheels are included. Two of the wheels do not work the best, a little cleaning and some grease and they should be good as new. Chair will be shipped with the base removed. Just four bolts to re-attach it- bolts are included. I can ship just the shell if you prefer. Please review the pictures as these are a part of this description as well.
