I do professional antique restoration and I stripped and finished them. They have many coats of hand-rubbed finish on them. I have finished them in a mixture I combine myself so they are weather resistant and have some UV protection. Please do not subject them directly to the elements.use on a covered. Sheltered porch. They also will look beautiful as fireside or living room seating. The wood that they are crafted from is quarter sawn resulting in what is called"Tiger Oak" and it is simply beautiful. Having no idea what type of fabric or motif that the new owners prefer I did not recover the seats. The springs are still in good condition.they just need recovered.
