This chair has been owned by two families during its lifetime. During the 1940's. A woman purchased this chair from an elderly black man in Giles County, TN. He told her this chair had been in his family as long as he could remember and that it had been built by on one his forefathers, who was a slave. There is a little damage to the upper left top but minor. This chair is in great condition and would be beautiful in any home! This is a true American treasure! Antique ladies rocker in Shaker style with woven seat. Back measures 33 inches tall. Seat measures 13 inches from the floor. It is 16 inches across the front and 15 inches from back to front. Note the double stretchers under the seat. The back panels measure 13 inches across. The rockers or runners measure 28 inches from tip to tip. This is a fantastic condition antique folding rocking chair. The chair is all its original wood and the hinges and hardware are all in tact. Even the label on the back is in fantastic condition. And reads Edward W. Vial, Patented in July, 1876. It has a floral pattern in the seat and backrest, which has a few signs of wear, but in great condition considering its age. This char is very comfortable, and actually quite small. It measures 34 inches tall, 24 inches from the front of the rockers to the back, and 18 inches across. This piece is very cool, a perfect addition to any home!

Antique Child's/Doll Bent-Back Rocking Chair (Beautiful Green Paint)
You are bidding on an antique child's/doll's rocking chair. With a wooden bent-back. This item was recently purchased at a quality estate sale in central Pennsylvania. I believe this chair was made in the early 1900's. And I am not quite sure if this is the original paint. The paint appears too bright and flawless, but I will let interested individuals be the judge of that. Either way the paint design on the chair is absolutely beautiful. The only flaws I see are two small cracks by the blade on the rocker. And there are some extremely minor nics in the paint. Also, there is a crack in the paint on the seat. The crack is not in the wood. All of these issues can be seen in the photos provided. I bought this chair about twenty years ago and had it professionaly reupholstered a few years ago. We have really not used this chair much and it is in the best condition ever. Nice old olive-green color with pinstripe and flower paint decoration. The arms are painted a wood color. Chair is 26-7/8" tall and 16-3/4" wide. Looks to possibly have two names on the bottom of chair. Written in chalk is"H. Felton. Marlboro. Mass" and what may be an original black stamped letters which I can't quite make out(see photos) This chair is coming out of a Marlboro. MA estate. The paint decoration is old. The top crest paint is heavily worn. There is an age separation to wood seam on the right rear corner of seat, but chair is still solid overall. Great little antique rocker.
