Antique Early 1900's Empire Tiger Oak Kitchen Dining Room Table & 4 Lion Chairs

This is is so beautiful in the Empire style. The large column center post ends in four beautiful curled legs in a square base format. The top is SO nice! This is a 42" round but has two leaves to expand to 66" for dining. Although this was someone's fine dining table in the early 1900's. This also makes an elegant kitchen table, or game table! It is small enough for 2-4 people to sit around nicely but with the leaves you can add up to six people, maybe more. So versatile! Great for a lake cottage or NY city apartment. The finish is just wonderful. This is not a patch job. I see no damage to the table at all and the original sliding hardware ... morelocks tightly with a wood handled latch. The chairs were originally cained but someone has simply added a wood cut seat to each eliminating that whole broken cane issue. These are very sturdy and are marked Wiffmer MIlling& Mfg Co. PA. Signed by the woodworker. Chairs are gorgeous with lion faces on the backs of each! One thing to note is that the leaves are not original to the table. They are cut to size and refinished to match closely(slightly darker due to being from another table) but they are not exact. They match very well. They have dowels to lock into the circle shape. Lastly. The table has for nice wheels on the bottom that are removable but they allow your to roll the table wherever you want it. This table measures 42" round and extends to 66" with two leaves. It is 30" tall. The chairs are 39" tall x 20" wide x 19" deep. This is such an easy set to move around. The top come off and the base will fit through any door. You can transport this in an SUV. Must See! Beautiful 6 Piece Antique Dining Set Antique turn of the century dining set- Table& Chairs with 5 leaves. Table is very desirable quarter sawn oak- tiger oak with split pedestal base that extends to make quite large table. Set has been in the family since new- we believe approximately 1900 but could be 1890-1910(based on consultation with local antique restoration professional) Set is authentic antique with beautiful wood trim detail on edge of table. Table. 5 Chairs& Extension Leaves. All in non-restored condition so as not to harm/damage furniture. Would love to keep in family- but no longer have space to store. for sale a great set of antique solid quartersawn oak dining chairs with nicely carved crests. the chairs are all rock solid and have not even a hint of a wiggle. Squeak, or wobble. the quartersawn flake is great for size of material in chair construction. these chairs are part of a dining set i had listed on ebay which did not sell. i have busted up the set, but these chairs match a table and buffet i now have listed all of which were listed within an hour or so of each other. there are two arm chairs and 4 side chairs. the arm chairs are a bit over 43 inches to the top of the crest. a bit over 18 inches to the top of the seat. they are 22 inches wide and 17 inches deep in the seat. the side chairs are a bit over 40 inches tall, 18 inches to the top of the seats, 18 inches wide, and 17 inches deep in their seats. the fabric is not very old ... moreand in great shape and looks very nice, however, the pictures do not show the true colors of the fabric. it is actually quite nice. the backs are caned and the cane is perfect, solid, tight, with no breaks or tears. the chairs are in near perfect condition and were built to last forever. i do know this, you can buy new dining chairs at a furniture dealer that will be much higher and will be essential a pile of sticks in 5 to 10 years if they have moderate use. these chairs were built by abernathe furniture co. of kc, mo. i have much more written about the maker on the table listing should you choose to look father. suffice to say this is a great set of chairs ready for service in a different location. the chairs may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. good luck. 336.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fvo%7B%3Dd70f%2B%3E336-143e3baa649-0xf8-

Up for sale is Antique pair of Church( Throne Chairs from 1800's. The previous owner told me they got them from old church in Riverside. California. Some people say they are Arts and Crafts style. I can see and tell some part of chair is surely oak quarter-saw. But I am not sure all parts are oak or not. They were used wooden nails not steel nails. Both chairs are sturdy. Well-made and very comfortable. They are really good condition except one chair back board venner lifted. You can easily fix it by puttingg some glue in the space. Solid design here, esthetic yet practical, un-fancy yet elegant. But somehow folding chairs in later times became those awful steel& plastic contraptions they roll out for PTA meetings& such. And the genre seems to degrade with each part that gets converted from steel to plastic. Anyway. These are really nice chairs made of solid gorgeous oak with a righteous well-used. Healthily distressed patina. Lots of little design touches typical of the era, tapered elements, slats, some quartersawn oak and nicely distressed green-painted steel hardware of an authentic shade much loved in the Arts& Crafts era. These have curved comfortable seats& backs, adding warmth& elegance(and a lot more work ... moreto make, it would seem! They fold up to be free-standing. Which is a nice touch. In fact they fold up in two stages, the seat itself flips up(which would be useful if you had to get past them in a row) then the legs hinge together. It would be best to keep this set together if possible. There's a good group of four. With a'5th wheel' extra that's a bit dark-stained(but fully functional, maybe it got caught in a spring shower at a church picnic a century ago. but it still looks great) Dimensions open are about 32" high.
