Set of Four Antique Firehouse Windsor Arm Chairs. All wood. Mostly oak construction with steel tie rods and iron leg braces. Continuous steam bent arm and back rail. Turned spindles, front legs and front stretchers. Two are in their original varnish finish. Two have been refinished in the past. All four are intact and sturdy. These chairs were made for heavy use and have held up well. They sit well and look great. Condition: wear to the finish. As would be expected, on the high points of the spindles and at the feet. One rough front corner on one chair, one loose spindle on one chair with losses to the under side of the back directly above it, one arm end loose. The last can be easily be reglued. The underside of the backrest features a pretty art noveau carved frieze design. All chairs leather seats; again. Flanked by brass studding. The chairs features square legs and rear sabre legs(a sign of good quality) The legs are supported by a cross-stretcher for additional strength. The undersides of the seats are designed with traditional webbing. All chairs are made from top quality solid oak. Eight chairs are 2ft 11” tall and two chairs are 3ft 1¼ tall. This is an original set of chairs; they are not matched together. The reason for difference in chair height was that the taller chairs were situated at the end of the table. You are looking at a stunning. Rare antique solid oak with Burl Walnut Jacobean refectory/dining table and chairs. The table is pre 1879 and is from England. It has Barley twist legs and self-enclosed leaves/extenders. It is in excellent condition. The chairs have only been recovered. But the finish is original to our knowledge(we've owned these pieces for over 40 years) Extending boards are in perfect working order. The table measures 40" wide and just under 64" long. TIGER OAK ANTIQUE DINING TABLE / 6 CHAIRS COMFORTABLY SEATS 12 BEAUTIFUL
Up for sale today is a beautiful antique tiger oak dining table and six chairs. This table was purchased in the late 1800's/early 1900's by either my great great grand fa ther or my great grandfather(they had the same name) who lived near Chicago. Illinois. This one comfortably seats 12 and will seat more if you care to get closer. I do not know if the chairs are original to the table. They do match and they are the only chairs I have ever seen with the table, but I was not around in the 1800's. The table is in wonderful condition as it has always been used with the original. Thick table pads protecting it and a table cloth over that. My family ha ve always been non-smokers. So there are no burn marks or yellow marks. The table needs a good cleaning, that is all. The chairs show more wear as they don't have protection like ... morethe ta ble. They are still used daily. The cushions have been replaced over the years and are now a fruit pattern. The last picture is of the store label holding the table for my great great grandfather(or great grandfather) This label is still in place under the table top. The table was purchased at Carson Pirie Scott& Co. This is an expanding table with four 10" leaves for adjusting t he size. At it's smalle st. The table is 54" round. At it's largest. It is approximately 94" long. The pads are made in sections so fit whatever size you wish the table to be. Pictures show the table at its smallest. Its largest, and also with three leaves in place. The mechanics for adjustment work smoothly. There are wheels on the base of the table and it rolls easily. Please look carefully at the pictures. This table is well over 100 years old. In my opinion. It shows very minimal wear for its age, but it is not"like new" Please keep in mind that the chairs, having been used for these many years, show much more wear than the table. They have nicks and scratches and the wood needs to be cleaned. More pictures are available should you wish to see them. This t

A solid oak refectory table with end supports joined by a stretcher. This table was crafted between the 1920's and 1930's with the original finish. There are two drop down leaves on either side of the table. There are six chairs with one being an arm chair. All chairs are solid with tight joints. In addition is a buffet with three drawers and two side storage cupboards. The table measures 60" long and 38" wide. Each leaf is 16" long so when each leaf is extended.
