This is a really pretty dining set in need of Some TLC. The table has a burlwood top that is stained scratched and chipped in molding trim and legs but has the potential to be a fabulous set. The table is 84" long X 41" across. The leaf is 18" so the table is 66" wihtout the leaf. The mechanics of the table as well as the chairs is in good condition. The chairs are very sturdy and very comfortable. The cane backs are intact and the forms are not broken. The wood needs stain or paint. They have wear spots in the coloring but would look great if they were painted or newly stained. The padded seats are also intact with a plain cotton cover waiting for your choice of fabric. TIGER OAK ANTIQUE DINING TABLE / 6 CHAIRS COMFORTABLY SEATS 12 BEAUTIFUL
Up for sale today is a beautiful antique tiger oak dining table and six chairs. This table was purchased in the late 1800's/early 1900's by either my great great grand fa ther or my great grandfather(they had the same name) who lived near Chicago. Illinois. This one comfortably seats 12 and will seat more if you care to get closer. I do not know if the chairs are original to the table. They do match and they are the only chairs I have ever seen with the table, but I was not around in the 1800's. The table is in wonderful condition as it has always been used with the original. Thick table pads protecting it and a table cloth over that. My family ha ve always been non-smokers. So there are no burn marks or yellow marks. The table needs a good cleaning, that is all. The chairs show more wear as they don't have protection like ... morethe ta ble. They are still used daily. The cushions have been replaced over the years and are now a fruit pattern. The last picture is of the store label holding the table for my great great grandfather(or great grandfather) This label is still in place under the table top. The table was purchased at Carson Pirie Scott& Co. This is an expanding table with four 10" leaves for adjusting t he size. At it's smalle st. The table is 54" round. At it's largest. It is approximately 94" long. The pads are made in sections so fit whatever size you wish the table to be. Pictures show the table at its smallest. Its largest, and also with three leaves in place. The mechanics for adjustment work smoothly. There are wheels on the base of the table and it rolls easily. Please look carefully at the pictures. This table is well over 100 years old. In my opinion. It shows very minimal wear for its age, but it is not"like new" Please keep in mind that the chairs, having been used for these many years, show much more wear than the table. Gorgeous solid Mahogany dining chairs with mother of pearl inlay as shown. 1 arm chair and 4 straight back chairs. 3 chairs are recovered in a sage/hunter plaid and 2 with original pattern when purchased. A Set Of 4 Gorgeous Antique Victorian Parlor/Dining Chairs. The chairs are beautifully designed. With a slight balloon backing that tapers to a sleek wasteline. Victorian era. Circa 1870's-1890'S. THIS AUCTION IS FOR ALL 4 CHAIRS. This style was very popular during the Rococo revival period of the late 19th century(toward the end of the victorian era) And these are great examples of a later Rococo Design. Though it's possible they were from the earlier part of the Rococo revival period. The frames are a solid hardwood. Almost surely maple, though victorian era furniture is not my expertise, and I'm not familiar with various stains that may create a lighter look to a typically darker wood. Side Chair Dimensions: Approximate 39" tall. 19" wide, 17" deep, and the seat height is approx 19" Armchair Dimensions: ... moreApprox 41" tall. 22" wide, 18" deep, and the seat height is approx 19" Condition: These are great late 19th century chairs. In fully functional condition as is! The upholstery has no rips. Tears, or seam splits. It likely the ORIGINAL upholstery on the chairs, as it has the age appropriate wear on it. And the patina is intact on the chairs, particularly the armchair(where the patina was not disturbed due to the arms of the chair preventing pants or other clothing from contacting it during regular use) One chair has some loose joints. And the seat springs need to be redone. But nothing other than reconditioning the chair. A different chair had the top 2 inches of wood broken at some point. And has been repaired, but is hardly noticable. The armchair has a repaired break on the left arm. But is completely stable and shows no visible weakness. It has one small loose joint on the other arm. But this is very slight, just needs to be re-affixed with a furniture glue or lacquer. 10 Antique French upholstered dining chairs
These chairs originally came from a chateau in France and came to USA via England. The ten chairs have at some time been reupholstered with red velvet. The seats are sprung and straw stuffed and hessian backing. Four of the chairs have condition issues which I have tried to show in the photos. The springs and stuffing are exposed on one chair and three chairs have fragile or broken joints on the cross brace- no parts missing. So repairable. Several of the chairs show evidence of previous woodworm holes- though none active. The chairs need some loving attention but will be a tremendous addition to a classical setting. Set of Four Antique Dining Chairs Circa 1930 Local Pickup
These chairs are in great condition for their age. With only a few minor cosmetic nicks/scratches. The cushions are upholstered with some type of green leathery looking material. Unfortunately, I don't know much about the origin of these chairs other than the fact that they were purchased by my husband's grandparents in 1931. THEY HAVE NORMAL LITTLE SCRATCH FROM USE, SUCH AS AT TABLE TOP HEIGHT WHERE THEY RUBBED AGAINST THE TABLE. YOU CAN SEE THE MARKS IN THE PICTURES. ABOUT HALF WAY UP THE CHAIR BACK ON THE FRONT SIDE. This is a set of six matching mahogany shield back dining chairs that came in to us last week. Norm the refinisher took them into ... morethe shop. Popped the seats off, glued up the chairs, sanded, re-sprayed and re-stained the chairs, and they now have a really nice looking overcoat finish and are all ready to go into the home. When you refinish a piece like this, you keep the original patina, take out the nicks and dings as much as you can, re-spray them in a satin sheen lacquer, ensuring many years of carefree enjoyment. The seat covers are awesome. Someone actually took the lady's and gentleman's chairs and made them an antique brown tweed with lots of comfortable cushioning, then on the four side chairs, put an antique worn-looking fabric that I love, with lots of cushioning. We didn't want to touch these because they were obviously well and expensively done. However, they are all easily removed with four screws and can be recovered in a fabric of your choice, if you wish. The size of the chairs, starting with the armchair, is 23 inches wide, 19 inches deep, 40 inches high, and 20 inches high to the seat.
