for sale a great set of antique solid quartersawn oak dining chairs with nicely carved crests. the chairs are all rock solid and have not even a hint of a wiggle. 1940's Antique Walnut Exquisite Dining Room Set! This is ornately carved set that has Inlaid Veneers in the China cabinet and Buffet. The beautiful table has twin carved legs at each corner with a Finial in the middle of the underneath frame. The top has a still nicely polished walnut matched woodgrain and has 3 original leaves to extend the table.The leaves are slightly darker than the table top as they have not seen as much light as the rest of the set. This is a rare and fabulous set of eight 19th century French Louis XV Fauteuil dining room chairs. They are just gorgeous! The fabric is immaculate. It is a pinkish salmon color and the backs are done in a contrasting plaid fabric of cream, pink and green. I was told they were originally purchased by a decorator in France. They are believed to be from the late 1800's, and it is unusual to find a complete set of eight chairs! Some are slightly older than others with iron studwork dating to around c.1700 with the others being more of a mid seventeenth century period showing brass studwork. All the chairs have a wonderful colour and deep patination to their walnut frames. Imagine a line up of colourful war criminals of the same family. Tiger Oak dining table and chairs. They are from the mid to late 1800's. The table seems older like possibly from the 1830s to 1860s and the chairs seem to be from a period between 1875 and 1900. Without leaves the table measures 44in square. There are six(6) leaves each about 1 3/8in. The total length with all leaves is 9ft 10in. The table is in very good condition. It was completely restored in about 1998. The under frame is all original and did not need any restoration. A miracle really. It is remains in excellent working condition fully supporting the six leaves. It opens and closes very smoothly. With all of the leaves. This table is absolutely beautiful. Huge. It looks like it goes on forever. You can comfortably serve 12 and could probably squeeze in 14. There is some minor water damage on three leaves and on one side of the table. ... moreAn example photo is attached. More photos are available. A local sanding and re-polish would mostly suffice although if you want it perfect the entire top would need to be re-sanded and re-finished.
