Vintage Alma Desk Co. Chair I picked up this Neat Alma Desk Co Vintage Office Chair at an estate sale outside of Washington. DC. This vintage office chair is in good condition and has green vinyl material on the back seat and sides of chair cushion. I believe that the material on the cushion is cotton. There is one small nic in the vinyl. A missing black piece on the bottom where the wheels are and a few light orange spots on the cushion that I have not tried to remove. There are a couple of imperfections on the wood that is apart of normal wear. Since this item is large. First of all. I am no expert on antiques, however I have been working in furniture retail all my life and admire great quality and craftsmanship as this chair offers. I believe it has been made entirely of white oak and some of the pieces appear to be quartersawn. They have very large stripes which leads me to believe it to be older than 100yrs or close to it. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I will change my listing. As stated before, I'm no expert. I have looked all over for a gustov stickler stamp hoping this chair to be worth 10's of thousands of dollars but he prob didn't make many student chairs. There are no stamps or hallmarks. The back looks like simple 3 slat back design. It has 2 sets of stretchers with square tenons between each legs. They are all structurally sound. I cannot see any repairs on it at all. In fact. ... moreI just noticed taking these pics, that the crack I've seen for the last 8 yrs, isn't a crack at all. It's a joint where the seat is glued together from three planks of dovetails. They are in tact, refer to the pics for better description. You can see by the pics there has been use and some very old scratches probably from moving many years ago. I am only selling to free up space in my downsized newer home and would love to pass this along to someone who can admire it as much as I have the last decade. If you know of shipping options, I can probably ship greyhound for $100 or less across the country. Also, you would have to pick it up at the closest greyhound depot, let me know. Antique childs wooden desk and chair Vintage
This desk was my Dads. Then my Aunts and then passed back and forth between cousins and has been in storage for decades. It measures 33 1/2" X 14" X 21 1/2" and the chair is 26" tall. It is in great shape considering its age and has only normal wear with some crayon markings inside the drawer, the chair is more worn and has a sticker on the backrest. Up for sale is this gorgeous Clark and Gibby desk chair! The chair is in great condition. With a few spots of wear to the leather but it's still soft and useable. There are several scratches on the leather(see photos) though they are superficial and do not go all the way through. The wood looks great, as do the original gears! This chair is a bit smaller than most antique desk chairs. It stands 31.5" tall to the top of the back. The back rest is 15.5" wide, and the seat is 17.5" wide. Antique Roll Top Quarter-sawn desk in oak--early 1900s and chair
This is a beautiful S-curve roll top desk in very good condition. We have owned this desk for 35 years. But the prior owner found an envelope inside the desk dated 1905. It is crafted all around so does not have to be placed against a wall. The drawers have dovetail joints-a few of the joints are loose, but drawers work fine. There are 3 locks-one on the roll-top, one on the side or end of the desk, and one on the right-hand door and we have all keys and the locks work perfectly. The top rolls up and down very smoothly. I do not know who made the desk. The oak chair did not come with it, but matches nicely. 2 of the back slats are broken but the swivel and wheels are very sturdy and work great. Chair is free. The Chair is in good overall used condition and is ready to place in the setting of your choice. The Chair is made solid mahogany and has a broad curved top rail. Beneath are scroll carved capitals and a single bar rail with more carved detail, the padded drop in seat has recently been re-upholstered in green fabric, The chair has disc detail to the front of the seat rail& has turned tapering front legs and splayed square back legs. I HAVE PICTURED THIS CHAIR WITH 3 SIMILAR DINING CHAIRS OFFERED SEPARATELY ON MY EBAY would make a good matched set. Condition The Chair is 100% sound. Sturdy and free from woodworm. It will have various slight marks or knocks which are commensurate with Antique used ... moreitems. all faults are minimal and in keeping with Antique used items.
