Up for bid is an old metal cupboard spring latch with a twisting knob. I don't know what metal it is made of. But it is brown like brass with a gold finish that has mostly worn off. Vintage American Light Oak Hoosier Kitchen Queen Cabinet
This is a wonderful example of American cabinetry from the early twentieth century. This oak kitchen queen is in great condition and really can be ready for use with no effort. Overall height of this cabinet is approximately 67" and 39" in width. The upper section is about 11" deep with the cabinet of the lower section at about 24" in depth. The porcelain coated steel table top when slid all the way back is about 26" and when pulled out the depth increases to 32" One of the unique things with this cabinet is that the drawers directly below the pull out table come out with the top. We have never seen one of these with this configuration. The upper section has the flour sifter in the left hand side. The upper right doors both have caramel colored slag glass in the top and opens up to provide two cupboards for storage. ... moreThe lower right section on the upper cabinet has the sugar glass bowl behind the wood tambour door. The lower section has a pull out cutting board top center below the metal tabletop. A tin lined drawer is on the left side. 2 center drawers and a single larger drawer on the right side. The entire bottom of this cabinet section is an open area with another full width tambour door covering that area. I have not been able to identify the manufacturer. Year and model of this unit. Purchase a piece of American history! The item(s) for sale is a GENUINE VINTAGE item bought with other items that belonged to army sergeant. Gordon H. King, d.o.b. 12-17-1910. He enlisted in 1945 during WWII. He served during 3 wars- WWII. Korean War, and VIETNAM WAR. He retired at Ft. Benning, GA on February 6, 1973 after 28 years of service. He was retired for 23 years when he died on Feb 13. 1996 at the ago of 86. These items were purchased at auction. Were neatly stored by his heirs, and not touched or used for almost 30 years. Anyone with an eye can see that a little love a restoration is all that's needed to bring this beautiful piece back to life. beautiful enough to be used in its current condition. Pieces is solid wood and structurally sound. Almost 100% certain it's Hoosier because of the red counter and some other features. ... moreHowever. This has not been authenticated by an appraiser. Great to restore; repurpose, This item is unique and rare. As is sale no refunds. History- Hoosier cabinets were manufactured between the 1890's and the 1920's and seemingly come in many configurations. Common features include a retractable counter top which was usually enamel. A built in flour sifter, a bread storage drawer and several cabinets and drawers for storage. They were popular because in that age, kitchens did not have built in cabinets and storage and the Hoosier cabinet filled that need. There is no set pattern for the drawer and cabinet configurations. Typically there's a space with a glass door for showing off your pretty pieces while the rest of the cabinet is completely utilitarian. Usually the enamel counter has a painted rim, usually in red or dark blue/black. I have been told that the original color was red. Drawers and cabinet space were usually equipped with racks and hooks. The cabinets themselves are not flashy or fancy. They were meant for the kitchen and not meant to be a show piece.

Antique Genuine HOOSIER CABINET DOOR LATCH With Vintage Paint It Works This is a latch that I removed from a Hoosier cabinet a few years ago. It works by lifting up on the round handle which one uses to pull the door open. It is covered with one or more coats of vintage paint. This latch is made of steel with a shiny surface under the paint. It is 2" high and 1 7/8" wide counting the length of the bar. And the mounting screws holes are on a 1 5/8" center. The catch(strike plate) is 2" x 3/4" and the mounting screw holes are on a 1 3/8" center. USA shipping is FREE. Item will be shipped the day following payment. Unless otherwise requested. Original white vintage hoosier kitchen cabinet from the 1930s in nice used condition. Cabinet has an appealing worn patina for that shabby chic look. All hardware appears original and present. Top left compartment has a circular opening for old flour mill. Two compartments at the top with glass doors; one large one in the middle with wood doors and spice rack in the left side door and one compartment at the bottom with two spice racks and three drawers. This cute Napanee bread cabinet from the 1940s was salvaged from an estate and fully restored(painted inside and out) The base is a creamy white with mint green drawer fronts and accents. It boasts the original chrome hardware. They c1940s teapot and teacup Meyercord decals on the front doors and drawers are a fun add on! The white porcelain enamel over metal top is in great shape with only a few spots of character adding loss to the porcelain along the edges and some very minor surface scratches on the top. this item is an antique therefore it is not store new. It has been used and is missing 1 round black cabinet door pull. Someone did spray paint on an object in front of this piece because there is overspray a little. I would call the color oyster. It measures 6' 8 1/2" tall x 42 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" deep, the top depth is 12 1/4" For the age of this it is in wonderful condition and is sound and the top part unscrews for transportation. In the first picture the 4 on the left are Stanley and the other 4 have no makers name. I have shown where the 4 are marked Stanley on the back. There is some rust, scratches, paint and scuffs but they all move freely. The 4 Stanley ones look like brass and the other 4 look like brass or bronze and may have been painted at one time. With that said.please look at this vintage Hoosier Cabinet glass sugar jar/ canister. It comes with 4 pieces of hardware. The glass jar itself measures about 9 5/8" tall while the diameter of the opening at the filling end measures 5 7/8" The inner rim of this opening has some roughness and small chips but there are no chips or cracks to the glass jar. The hardware includes a 6 1/4" jar opening lid. This lid has one metal ring attached to it. The ring that the jar sits in and 2 other pieces of hardware. Please see the pictures for reference. The dispenser end of the jar has a tight fitting lid. It looks as if it is sealed with some kind of liner or gasket. The opening cover slides easily.
