This oak 2 drawer library card file box/cabinet measures 16 1/2" x 17" x 7" and the two drawers will hold 5" x 2" index cards. The oak cabinet is in solid condition and has not been refinished and the color od golden oak with some age. It has some ink stains on the top as noted on Photo No. 10. Everything is original and it was made in Rochester New York by Yawman and Erbe. Remnants of the label/sticker is shown on Photo No. 7. The top is removable if you wish to add this to a present stack.

An Antique wood ... morelibrary card file cabinet.Made of solid wood with veneer surface.it is maple I think but the finish was darkened a bit and now it appears more like golden pine.It has a 4 legged matching wood stand.the cabinet is made of 3 sections aside from the stand.The 15 drawer section. A 5 drawer section that has 1 broken drawer and a section that has 2 pull out shelf pieces to rest things on.The hardware is all present with the exception of the broken drawer which is missing it's label bracket/pull.All the rods are there inside each drawer.The cabinet does not have a finished top.It is made to stack on top of other pieces and it had the rounded ledges down each side to hold steady when stacked.I still have those but I took them off and placed a cut to fit piece of pine in the opening so the top would be flat.When I put a coat of just paint thinner on the cut to fit piece it will match in color.I will do that today.My husband can make a solid top for the price of the lumber if wanted.It won't be hard to do yourself.Just find a piece of pine(pine seems to match perfectly) and cut it the same size as the actual top and screw, nail it or glue it down.On the

Vintage 1 Drawer Antique Oak Library Bureau File Card Catalog Index Yawman Erbe
This listing is for a nice vintage cabinet by the Yawman and Erbe It is a one-drawer example. With the original brass drawer pull, and brass tag that reads"Y and E" It has the original adjustable sliding card holder in the drawer. Everything operates smoothly, the back however is missing(see picture) and there is some paint splatter on the front. These files were in common use in the early part of the 20th century in libraries, schools, and offices and were built to last. This example has wonderful quartersawn oak wood grain patterns and quality dovetailed construction with a few small cracks on the sides from over the years, but does not affect the overall condition. The dimensions of this file are approx. 7.5" wide by 16" deep by 10.5" tall.quite a bit taller than a standard card catalog. ANTIQUE OAK LIBRARY SOLE MAKERS CARD CATALOG FILE CABINET RARE LONG OPEN DRAWERS
Antique Library card catalog. Made by the Library Bureau Sole Makers Company. Made of oak. Appears to have never been refinished. Shows years of loving wear. Please see all the pictures for a better idea of condition. There are 3 drawers with 6 areas for cards. The drawers are unlike most cabinets and are open rather than seperated into cubbies. This actually makes it much more usefull than most other cabinets. Only one drawer still retains the inside hardware. All drawers retyain the original outside hardware. One very interesting thing about this cabinet are the hand holds that were carved into the sides. This cabinet was apparently moved alot so the hand holds were added after production to aid in moving the cabinet. Normally I would say this would hurt the value but in this case they were probably added around 100 years ago and I feel ... morethis actually makes it even more interesting. I wish I knew the story of why they were added. Possibly a portable library. Think about it. Its very interesting and personally I feel since it was done so long ago it adds to the history and interest of this wonderfull piece.We will ship anywhere in the Continental United States fully insured for 35.00. Up for auction to U.S. customers only is a vintage Weis two drawer file cabinet. It measures 11" wide x 12" high x 18" deep. The drawers are 4-1/2" high and 9-1/4 inches wide. The drawers which measure 3-1/8" high x 14-3/8" wide x 21" long have been refinished and slide easily in place. They have deep dovetail joints which are indicative of the good quality of this cabinet which weighs a hefty 38 pounds. The rest of the cabinet is painted dark green and can either be stripped to expose the oak or left as is. I'm not sure what this cabinet originally was used for but I think it may have had dividers along the metal tracks for catalogue cards. It is a Globe Wernicke four drawer library card file cabinet. It is made out of quarter sawn oak and appears to have the original finish. The cabinet is 9 1/4" tall x 17" deep x 14" wide. It weighs almost 30 pounds. Overall. The cabinet appears to be in very good used condition. One of the drawer fronts has been repaired. The cabinet has a slight front to back wobble. Purchased at an estate sale Vintage Wood Library Index Card Catalog Mid Century File Cabinet Dated Feb. 1969- 15 DOVETAIL DRAWERS WITH BRASS PULLS- SMOOTH GLIDING Original Parts This is a beautiful library card catalog cabinet. There are 15 drawers and all are dove tail. There are surface scratches and a some deeper ones on it. The pulls are brass and this is not a reproduction. The drawers glide easily open and closed. No sticking at all. Nice smooth drawer open and closing. Blond wood. Most likely maple, but not positiv e. All 15 drawers are dove tailed and glide smoothly. They all have(probably brass) finger pulls with label holders. Heavy. Solid construction(weighing 88 LBS) with a very nice patina. It measures 32" long. 17" depth and 13" high. Inside each of the 15 drawers measure 16 inches long, by 5 inches wide by 1 ... more3/4 inches high. Most drawers have functioning spring loaded metal slides to move cards forward and back and there are some that are not attached(the metal back plates) but will be inside so they can be installed. Selling a wonderful 1930s Golden Oak/ Mission Oak library/ recipe file cabinet/ox in very good condtion. This fine two drawer box retains the original solid brass hardware on the machine dovetailed drawers. THIS IS VERY HANDSOME IN PERSON BUT I AM A REALLY POOR PHOTOGRAPHER! The finish is lighter in color than these murky pictures indicate. Size is approximately 15 1/2" across. 6" tall by 14 7/8" deep. This was made from oak with a strong, prominent, handsome grain. Primary wood is solid oak, secondary wood(cabinet bottom and drawer bottoms) is a softwood, most likely poplar. This is an American made file cabinet. You can use this for recipe cards, or other filing. Also useful to store your love letters, Indian arrowhead collection or over due bills. What a wonderful little cabinet. Have actually had this piece for over 30 years in our family.Cannot remember anything about it. WE purchased at an upstate NY auction house. It is really super and has such a nice smooth wood finish and warm rich golden color. I think just a touch of refinishing will be just what this little cabinet needs. Nothing big perhaps. a little"Formby" on it will be perfect. The top extends in a nice lip and hangs over the entire square top so nicely like a molding! The Brass card label holder came off but we have it! It is missing just the tiny nail/screws to hold it on. The inside of each drawer is stamped pat July 4.1899. This is a vintage oak library file made of quartersawn oak. It has six drawers. Designed to hold 3" by5" index cards or library Dewey Decimal System cards. All the original drawer sliding mechanisms, rods, and supports are still present and work perfectly. All original brass pulls and hardware are also present and in good condition. Pretty old Shaw Walker file box with metal slide that functions perfectly. I have been unable to find another one like it. The name Shaw Walker is perfect. This is a vintage oak library file. It has nine drawers. Designed to hold 3" by5" index cards or library Dewey Decimal System cards. All the original drawer sliding mechanisms and supports are still present and work perfectly. All original brass pulls and hardware are also present and in good condition. It is in great condition except for a small piece of the front bottom of one drawer is missing one small piece of wood(see picture) It is in a bottom drawer so not noticeable. Vintage Library Card Catalog File Brass Rod Knobs - Oldies !!!
These are the heavy solid brass knurled nuts that are usually on rods but these are not. These are frequently used to show on the outside and the rod not used anyway. Anyway- eight are the threaded type. Two tapered plug, no threads, knurled section slightly thicker than threaded ones. 13/16" dia, project 1'2" off vertical when installed, have a slightly"domed" face. These are the real deal for that classic look. Litttle bit of paint, lot of dirt but they polish up nicely.

Really nice antique 4 drawer Maple wood library card catalog has great looks to be hand done dovetailing. The cabinet is 9 1/2 inches tall and 13 1/2 inches wide and 17 inches deep and weighs 27 pds. The drawers hold 3 x 5 cards. In good condition other than the rods that go in the bottom of the drawers are gone in the drawers but that makes it nice that the standard 3 x 5 card will fit it and there are some scratches. Tape residue, few small hairlines on the top, rubs, stains, average wear for its age. Did not find a manufacturers' name on this but in one of the drawers were some numbers as you can see in picture 8. These cabinets are good for a lot of things and look great. Up for auction is a very nice tiger oak Library Bureau by Sole Makers. It is a 4 drawer cabinet that has the original slide adjusters in each drawer. It is dovetailed made as pictured. The cabinet measures 19 ¾” x 16” and 13 ¾” tall. It is in great shape as pictured. It is solid oak except for the back which is a veneer. There are some chips ... morein the back veneer as pictured… nothing big. On one side. The wood has split, but this a minor cosmetic issue as the joints remain solid. There is an ERIE sticker on top, and we think it is the Erie Railroad.
