This 19th century bookcase features its original wavy glass in the doors and its old original finish with period dove-tailed joinery on the drawer ends. The five adjustable shelves offer versatility in displaying that special book collection or those pretty collectibles. The key provided just aids in opening the doors as the lock does not work. This fine Victorian bookcase has a beautiful presence and is in wonderful antique condition. ANTIQUE STEPBACK CUPBOARD 2 part/ top comes off. HARD PINE FROM A NEW ENGLAND ESTATE This Olde Cupboard/ Hutch was found in an old Farm Estate outside of the Shaker Village of Canterbury N.H. It was still in use when pulled out. Construction is Wide board Hard pine. Which shows its age well.The top does come off. The sides are made of single Wide boards- the lower front door is also a very wide board with breadboard ends to stop any warping the back is also wide board The house it was in. Had molding around the room and I guess they thought it prudent to put the same molding on the base of this cupboard- it can be taken off quite easy. My Estimate of date would be late 1700s to early 1800s- make no mistake its an OLDE one There are some traces of paint outside just visible in places- and it is old yellow paint inside. A very nice antique. Circa 1840's, Empire mahogany stepback bookcase. Solid mahogany doors and sides. Two piece construction. The cornice has flame mahogany veneers. There are two glass pane doors, with ornamental Gothic arch tops, each door with eight glass panes. Six mahogany stained maple adjustable shelves and back boards. The drawer base has flame mahogany veneers on drawer, original mahogany knobs. The furniture measures 7'6" 89-1/2" tall by 4' 48" wide by 18" deep, the shelves 11" deep. Very good plus condition: original finish, doors with lock, no key. Six panes on one door are new glass replacements, the rest old wavy glass. Small veneer chip top front edge of drawer case. Drawer retains the lock.

Here's a great country step back cupboard. An early version with a dovetailed case and spoon notches that displays wonderfully with the doors open. It's missing a few latches but they've been replaced with turn buttons on the bottom. Notice how the top sits specifically in the notches on the base. It has a high pie shelf, dovetailed drawers that operate smoothly, and an old refinish. The style is clearly mid-1800's and likely midwest or eastern US. Primitive Painted Ohio Stepback Cupboard "1900's"
For your consideration is an early Ohio primitive painted stepback cupboard that was found in an old farmhouse along with the light blue cupboard in the picture. This cupboard is unique in that it has a wonderful arch on the upper section that matches a similar arch near the bottom of the lower section. I believe it has it's original brown paint.Hardware and wavy glass. I would date it to the early 1900's and it measures approx 46 in wide by 90 in tall. It is not heavy but very sturdy and could be pine or ash(not sure) There is one small trim piece on the right hand side near the top missing and small wood loss near bottom right corner but does not detract from it's beauty.This cupboard is exceptionally nice and getting harder to find in this original condition! It is a great size- not too small- not too large- measuring 37 1/4" high x 16 1/4" deep x 22" wide. Most child's cabinets are a lot smaller than this one. This would make a great cabinet for all those little things you want to put away. It's sturdy and clean throughout- no funny smells- but there is a crack on the top by the left hinge as shown in the pictures. This is a used Pennsylvania House breakfront/hutch/china cabinet early American style. The date in the back indicates that it was built in 1976. This cabinet is in two pieces(top and bottom) The top measures 48" tall and 9.5" deep. and is 36" wide. No issues other then the two drawers don't match in their construction. The drawer on the on the left appers to be original to me. And the right is a very old replacement. It looks like fine. A back rear foot has a newer piece of wood brace. This piece has normal wear consistent with age and use. We believe it to be made from pine. It measures 83 1/2" High x 53" wide x 20 5/8" deep. A beautiful handmade wooden cupboard made from what appears to be pine and stained a warm reddish-brown, 3 shelves on the top and 1 shelf on the bottom. A classic piece with a molded top and is in excellent condition for its age. There are no major scratches, but does have a 3" x 1/4" area that is a strip of wood that splintered off on the back top of the left side of the cupboard molding. It is not in a noticeable area but it needs to be mentioned. Please review the last picture of the area. The cupboard has a beautiful warm satiny shine to it still. This old cabinet is as real as it gets. It came out of Kentucky and I believe it dates to the mid to late 1800s. This old cabinet was more than likely made right at the farm by the man of the house to be used in the wife's kitchen. On the top it has ten drawers and two glass doors. The bottom has four drawers. A wood door and a potato bin. It is two pieces and both are heavy which makes me believe that underneath the paint might be oak. The two glass doors stick a little but aren't hard to open. The wood door is little loose because the hinges are old and the latch sometimes sticks. All but one of the drawers slide in and out well. The back bottom as you can see in picture 7 is metal. It measures right at, top 46 7/8" x 12 3/4" x 46 3/4" tall and the bottom measures 48 1/2" x 23 1/2" x 28 3/4" tall. Circa 1870-1890 Chestnut Wood Step Back Cupboard With Original Hardware. I picked this Cupboard up a few years ago from an Estate Sale here in Corning. NY. The cupboard is in great condition- it's a little dusty but it's ready to go. At some point in the past there was some minor restoration work. The original bottoms of the drawers were replaced and the far left door on the upper section must have been taken apart and re-glued for whatever reason. When the door was put back together one of the panels was reversed. All the original hardware is in place. Absolutely Fantastic Antique Child's Oak Stepback Cupboard in Old Finish
This auction is for a fantastic antique oak child's stepback cupboard. The cabinet dates to the late 1800's-early 1900's. The cabinet is 28 3/4" tall. It is 5 1/2" deep on the outside of the top section. 9" deep at the stepback work surface, and 8 1/2" deep on the outside at the bottom. The cabinet is 15" wide. Opening the top 2 doors reveals 2 securely set wooden shelves. There is a drawer with wooden knobs below the work surface. Opening the bottom doors reveals a shelf. The top of the cabinet has a cornice board top. The bottom edge of the front, and the bottom of the sides have swoopy detail. The knobs on the doors turn to rotate a piece of wood that holds the doors closed. The sides are 1 board. The cabinet is old finish. There is a little bit of wear in the finish. There are some small nicks in the ... morewood on the right side when looking straight on. There is a split in the wood on the back of the cabinet. The finish on the back is irregular. There is a knot hole in the front edge of one of the shelf on the bottom section. This cabinet is a wonderful piece of antique child's play furniture. Here we have a vintage tin litho step back kitchen cupboard by The Wolverine Supply and Mfg. Co. of Pittsburgh Pa. Pink cabinet with white work top. Litho artwork is still in great condition. Antique Stepback Cupboard Miniature Folk Art Primitive Child Doll Cabinet w/cups
This is a very old Antique Vintage Miniature Cupboard. This cupboard may have been made by the Cass Toy Co. of Athol. Massachusetts. They manufactured these between 1915-1926 but looking at it more closely it might be home made folk art. This item was purchased at a living Estate Auction. The woman ran a three floor Museum, most of the items were collected in the 1930's. There are signs of age and use. The old pitcher and bucket plus glass Cups come with the Cupboard.
