Antique Primitive Spool Cabinet Cubby
Here is a great antique primitive Spool Cabinet. Cabinet is 14 inches wide. 12 inches deep and 12 inches high. I believe it is made of pine with a great patina to it. All drawers except the bottom have a divider. The second drawer down from the top handle was broken off at some point long age, drawer works fine. Great antique small cabinet. Antique Primitive Three Drawer Wooden Spool Cabinet * Nice Countetop Display
Here we have a n antique primitive three drawer wooden countertop spool cabinet. matching porcelain pull knobs on all three drawers. circa early 1900's. all three drawers have finger jointed dovetails and are also the same size. each drawer is 19 3/4 inches wide by 13 inches deep. the sides of the drawers are 2 1/8 inches tall. the top drawer has 9 dividers for spools of thread. the middle drawer is divided in half. the bottom drawer has no dividers. see photos 4. 5, and 6) a great addition to a countertop display with many uses. there is a small repair on the bottom of the cabinet as shown in photos 11 and 12. there is a small reserve of $50.00. insurance is included in shipping fees. customer pickup is always welcome. will be happy to meet you for the exchange. good luck INSURANCE is always included in the shipping and handling charges. ... morePAYMENT on all ebay items should go through pay-pal. Pair J&P COATS Spool Cabinet ANTIQUE BRONZE DRAWER PULLS - MONOGRAMED w/C S R
We have for auction a pair of antique Brass Plated Bronze small drawer or door pulls. I have been told these drop pulls are for a J&P COATS SPOOL CABINET. They have two prongs on the back side that are inserted into the hole on the drawer or door. Once in place the prongs are opened up fully and anchored against the wood piece and nailed into place. They are like the type of holders we had in our paper folders at school(long long time ago) The pulls backs are shaped like a shield and measure 1 3/8" across the widest part. The drop pull also measures 1 3/8" across the top and 3/4" top to bottom. The front of the drops are monogrammed with a large"C" with an"S" and a"P or R" in very old letter styling. The monogrammed pieces could be a company logo or a family name. These are so unusual and quite ... morea collectable for that smaller cabinet door pull or a small drawer pull. But there is no makers mark i can find. at any rate, you will not find one make any better. it is a fabulous near mint condition spool cabinet. it is heavy and sturday with no loose joints or separation. the top is two inches thick. it has quartersawn oak decorative pieces on the sides near the front. it sits on a base, most did not have bases, but this looks to be original to the cabinet and shows the same patina. it could be used as an end table or night stand or you could stand an elephant on it, it it that sturdy. would make a nice jewelry cabinet or a catch all for just about anything. it is a great piece with no damages, there are a few minor blemishes here and there from normal use over the last 100 years or so, ... morenone of which are noticeable nor do they take from its function, actually just adds patina to the cabinet. i cleaned and polished it, the knobs are porcelain and i do not know if they are original or not. they were filthy and i removed them to clean several decades of grim and black film from them. many had wooden knobs, these however are porcelain. the screws are original and did not appear that they had ever been removed. the holes are tight and firm with no wiggle or wobble etc. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck.

Antique Vintage J&P Coats Thread Spool Cabinet General Store Display Small NIce!
This is a really cool and really rare small J&P Coats spool cabinet with needle drawer(I have never seen one of these of this size. Or with a drawer) It measures 22-3/4" tall. 15-3/4" wide and 8-1/4" deep. These sat on the counter of old time general stores. Most of them I have seen were larger more complicated pieces. I find this one more attractive, and easier to display.it could sit on a shelf, or hang on the wall to display things in. It has two shelves inside, and judging from the same patina on all of the wood, I don't think this has been altered(the decal on the front is a reproduction though) It has nice matching glass knobs on the drawer and the roll-up door. The door has the nice original backing and slides up and down as it should. I do not know if this originally had a back on it, I can see no nail holes ... moreor other markings to indicate that there ever was one. A couple weeks ago we purchased an antique Clarks Spool cabinet which someone had used for a tool chest. It was pretty badly beaten up and warped so my husband removed the hardware in hopes someone can use these. They are highly ornate embossed brass. 10 in total but only 9 had the backplates(strange in that the 10th one did not show any signs of ever having a backplate put on the cabinet) I am including the original wedges which were used to secure the knobs. This is a great old Oak Spool Cabinet Countertop desk with a leather top. It is 28 X 20.25 inches X 12 inches tall. The wood is in beautiful condition. The metal inkwell is intact but there is no insert. Words on the drawers were removed but the outlines are still visible. It looks like the original knobs were replaced with old porcelain ones. Very nice old desk. Very solid& sturdy. High-End, dense/heavy wood construction with brass-look steel pull knobs. Here is a great piece from the past. The antique dealer that we bought this from said that it came from upstate New York. A general store, that she remembers from her childhood. The two drawer cabinet measures 16" wide, 7 1/2" high and 7 1/2" deep. This is overall a nice piece with some faded graphics and in need of a good cleaning. Thank you for looking. ANTIQUE BELDINGS SILK Spool Cabinet for Mercantile Store Display With Thread
This a gorgeous Beldings Silk mercantile store display cabinet.It was originally used to display spools of thread for display. These cabinets are sought after as collectibles and this is a lovely piece for any collection. It's solid wood and appears to have the original glass in the top two drawers. Both are in good shape without cracks. The bottom drawer is all wood with concave slots for spools. In the top drawer there are 15 spools of very old Clarks white thread. The middle drawer contains 108 spools of Clarks black thread. Most wonderful of'finds' is the two spools of Beldings Silk light blue. 100% silk twist buttonhole thread! It's gorgeous thread and so soft to the feel! All the spools are wooden spools from the same time period, I'm not sure which decade but probably early 1900's. Some of the spools have lost ... morethe paper stickers on their tops, or bottoms, most of these have been salvaged and can be seen in the plastic bag in the last drawer. The side of the bottom drawer has a ink stamped name, Thomas K. Vance. It measures approximately 16"X15"X8" approximate because I already wrapped it before I got the exact measurements, oops) The construction is solid and tight with no loose hardware or cracks. I have provided photos from every angle, one is the back and side and others show the wear on the top edge as well as photos showing marks on the top right and a scrape on the side. The marks are not unusual for the time this piece has seen I am more than happy to answer any questions that I can and will respond as soon as possible to them. Clarks Antique Oak Spool Thread Cabinet or Chest
The Clark family built the first factory for making cotton thread for sewing in 1812 in Paisley. Scotland. George A. Clark(1824-1873) a descendant of the founders, immigrated to the United States in 1856 and acted as an agent for the company. In 1864, George and his brother, William, built a thread mill in Newark, N.J. It became Clark Thread Co. The trademark"O.N.T" stands for"Our New Thread, a six-cord thread developed by George for use with sewing machines. The company merged with J. P. Coats in 1952 and is in business today as Coats& Clark, Inc. headquartered in Charlotte, N.C. Spool cabinets were display cases used in general stores and dry goods stores in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This spool cabinet would make a great end table since it is the prefect height. Rare Corticelli 14 Drawer Store Display Spool Cabinet
The king of the spool cabinets not for the faint of heart. I restore antique furniture and have a backlog the hard work on this is done the layers of old paint have been removed except the small sections of drawer fronts which are just shellac all it needs to be finished is a little sanding some minor spot striping and a new finish. It stands 37 1/2" tall 20 1/2" wide and 18 1/2" deep. It has 9 spool drawers that hold 156 spools of thread or 1365 total and five larger open drawers for storage. The plate glass fronts are all present one was broken but I have a replacement cut and ready to install all the original hardware is present except one spool drawer pull which if copied from other present nothing major. Made of oak the top section has some dowel holes where a 1/2" oak wide advertising board went. The original logo ... morewas the banner Corticelli logo and a grey tabby cat wearing granny glasses and a bonnet. A project if you're a do it yourselfer piece oh cake if hired done probably $400.00 to $500.00 to finish. I believe this cabinet originally had 2 carousel displays inside. I have not been able to find another example of this cabinet. Circa 1880s I believe(possibly older) USA. Keep in mind all of the photos were taken outdoors- depending on the photo this item may appear sun-dappled and/ or may be reflecting surrounding scenery. CONDITION: Foremost. All of the glass is original and in excellent condition with no damages. No chips, cracks, flakes, bruises, dings. This cabinet was restored at some point. Somewhat amateurishly. Presumably the cabinet was refinished to some extent. There is no evidence the cabinet was ever painted. At some point the door on the right hand side was modified so that it would open to the left rather than to the right. I have no idea why this was done. This would have involved removing the door. This lapboard features the Corticelli kitten on both sides of the board holding a spool of Corticelli Spool Silk thread in its mouth. These were given away by shop owners to their customers who purchased the Corticelli brand of thread. They feature a cut out at the bottom to make it easier to use when you are sewing. The lock works. When you open the mirrored front there are two shelves to use. There are six small drawers. One of the drawers has two wood dividers. Someone during its life. You are bidding on an all original Corticelli Spool cabinet. The company was originally from Northampton MA. The owner of the company purchased it around 1850 when it was called Nonotuck. He renamed Corticelli because he said woman of that time liked Italian names and cats. The two Corticelli kittens in each corner are holding a spool of thread in their mouth which says Corticelli. The cabinet is made of a hardwood(we think either oak or ash? It measures 21 1/4" wide. It is 9 1/4" high and 18" deep. It still has the wood dividers for the spools of thread. This store display piece was used in old country stores to sell the Corticelli brand of thread. Everything on the cabinet is original. The words, glass and handles. The front of the drawers are just beautiful. The lettering can still be faintly seen on the front of the drawers. Drawers are all intact and there is no missing parts with this case. I just wiped the case down with Murphy's wood soap and orange oil and put some Liquid Gold polish on it. The door pulls appear to be like a black porcelain. Great brass trim detailing around each of the pulls. I see no evidence that this case ever had the Eagle labels on it. Looks like the two bottom drawers had pulls on each end at one time and the drawer pull was moved to the center. Where the wood is seamed can be seen at the top of the cabinet. I have an awesome Sterns Braid cabinet with legs. I'm assuming the legs were added at some point. This is how it was when I purchased it. Would make a great side table or use for storage in your sewing room. About 20" tall, overall good condition, I noticed some dings from sitting in the shop on the top. I have it for sale in a local antique shop and will pull this listing if it sells before I get a bid. I prefer that you pick it up, not sure about shipping cost. This large antique cabinet has hand painted lettering on the front and the back. Both drawers are divided. So this would be great for organizing your smalls! The top drawer has beautiful bronze pulls and the bottom drawer has porcelain knobs. I think it is all original and is in very good condition except that the drawer with the porcelain pulls is missing the very back slat of the drawer and there is a knot hole in one of the divided squares in the same drawer(see right row, second square back in picture#5) There are some scratches commensurate with age and a small chip on the one upper back corner. WOW This is a rare find this week. This is an original J&P Coats six drawer spool cabinet from an old general store display. This is all ready for the fix-it-up project. Included in this special piece is an original embossed J&P cardboard sign that goes on the back along with some trim parts. This sign is in amazing condition with a small hairline crack. Bottom left corner. Otherwise, colors are sharp and not faded out. Sign is 15-3/4" wide by 13-1/4" high. Cabinet has one knob missing and most of the drawer dividers(but not sure if every drawer had dividers) Please look and see that all the glass in the drawers are missing. Unique Sewing Night Stand Bedside Cabinet W/Lazy Susan Spool Storage F/England
This auction is for a very neat and unique Sewing Cabinet that can also do double duty as a bedside cabinet from England. It's made out of mahogany& mahogany veneers. It has pretty wood grains on the top and a cute 3/4 backsplash around the sides and back of the top. The top"drawer" is not a drawer. It's a lazy susan that spins around for spool& needle storage. Under it is a drawer for storage with a"double drawer" frony, but it's a single drawer. The legs are"fluted" on the front of the cabinet. It's extremely cute and very functional. It's been used as a combination sewing cabinet bedside cabinet for the past 10 years in our master bedroom but has lost it's space to a different bedside cabinet. Overall it's 17 5/8" wide. 11 3/4" deep and 27" tall to the top ... moreof the backsplash. It's 25 1/2" tall to the table top. The lazy susan is 15" wide and about 7" deep. It has pegs to hold 12 spools in place plus a build in"depression" to hold needles and pins. The bottom drawer is 15" wide X 8 1/2" and about 6 5/8" deep. The top is in good to very good condition without any burns or water rings/marks. The cabinet is in overall good condition with a few dings& blemishes but none that take anything away from this cabinet. It's ready to set out and use and enjoy. This is a four drawer cabinet. The bottom cabinet has a solid front and flat bottom. The top three have glass fronts and"wavy" bottoms. These old spool cabinets make great storage cabinet s for a wide variety of uses. This one is very solidly built and functions quite nicely. All drawers are intact and open/close just fine on their drawer slides. Drawer pull hardware all there and in great shape. Same for glass drawer fronts. The only part of the cabinet that is not in good shape is the back veneer panel. As shown in the pics below. This thin piece of wood is warped, has some cracks, etc. However this piece is just a"cover" of ... moresorts for the back- behind it is a solid piece of wood that serves as the real structural back of the cabinet(see the pic that follows the full back pic that shows this. My intent was to remove this piece and cut. Install a new thin cover for the back(obviously never got that done! This piece could also just be easily removed and the cabinet would be fine.
