This auction is for a beautiful vintage sewing thread cabinet. On the front it says" Peerless Boil Proof Registered Sewing Cotton. It has 3 large drawers with cute matching little pull handles. All drawers open and close easily. This would have been a display cabinet for a department store way back in the day. All 3 drawers are empty like the open drawer pictured. It is a wonderful piece and in great looking condition and sound. The glass is perfect as all 3 panes were professionally cut and replaced. Clark's Walnut 2-Drawer Glass Front Spool Cabinet - Antique Store Display Case
This is a large two-drawer Clark's spool cabinet. In handsome walnut, measuring approximately 22" x 15" x 7½" The drawers have glass inserts with gold backing. Three of the original tab drawer pulls are still intact; one is missing. On the bottom drawer, the lettering is a little smudged. Also, there are a few driblets of reddish paint on the top of the cabinet. But otherwise, the piece is in very good condition. Antique J. P. Coats' Spool Cabinet Here is a beautiful piece of Americana from the past. This spool cabinet was rescued from a garage. And had a can of open motor oil sitting on it's top. It was cleaned and refinished and it is simply gorgeous. The cabinet is all original and no cracks or chips. The lettering on the drawers panels is all original and I do not know what the material is, however, two of them are slightly warped, but this does not alter the look or the fact that they are original. The size: 22 inches X 17 3/4 inches X 15 3/4 inches tall. The drawers are 20 5/8 inches wide. Please look at all pictures closely. Solid Oak Clark's Spool Cabinet Desk
What a clever idea someone had. Take a completely refinished spool cabinet. That usually sat on a counter, and make a base for it, and now you have a desk. The condition is excellent. It has all the original knobs and hinges but the writing surface has been replaced. I have a solid oak stool that is a perfect height to make this piece usable as a desk. This is a beautiful piece of early history! It is a Vintage Clark's O.N.T. Spool Cotton 2 Drawer Wood Cabinet. It measures approx. 22" wide x approx. 15" x approx. 6" high. It is in VG Cond. with some corner wear(missing piece of wood/veneer) and some age related nicks/scratches. The front bottom is either missing some wood/veneer or it was that way when it was attached to a counter or displayed in the early store. We purchased this from an estate sale where the former owner said it came from a general store in Georgia. The signage in front is still nice and clear. There are a few areas where there is old glue in spots between the wood but you should ... morebe able to restore it or touch it up. Inside there are two drawers. The top having little compartments. Your looking at a very rare antique general store counter display. It's a cabinet drawer for Tico Forms. Tico made large letter stamps. Has great logos and design that is on the drawer and rear of cabinet. Great joints on cabinet. This is an unusually tall Corticelli oak spool or thread cabinet. With a total of 19 drawers-16 with glass fronts and 3 with wood fronts. The glass front drawers have a front row of spindles which can hold thread and the remaining portion of the drawer is flat which is excellent for storage-this is not original as it would have had all spindles-much more functional now. The interior size of the glass front drawer is 18.5 wide. 11.75 deep, and 1.5 high. The wood drawers have interiors of 18.5 wide, 14 deep, and 3 high. Note the original pulls on each drawer and pretty bull nose top. We have refinished this piece and it has a smooth and even finish. Original stenciling on front and sides. This is a spool cabinet I do not have the opportunity to sell very often. A oak Merrick's double wide rotating thread cabinet. A great cabinet with two rotating cylinders turned from the top to display the different thread inside. Stenciling and glass on all sides(very minor losses to the glass stenciling) Exceptional original finish on the oak which is smooth and even. Nine drawer Chadwick's spool thread cabinet with brass pulls(original pulls with brass and wood) Cabinet is oak and in excellent restored condition. 22 high and 25 wide and 18 deep. Front of drawers read in recess inset glass- Chadwick's. Spool Cotton, Sixcord, Drabs, Slates, Brown's' Blues, Buttons, Needles. Six drawer J & P spool cabinet with advertising on back-embossed pulls---14608
This is a really nice 6 drawer oak J& P Coats spool or thread cabinet. This is the cabinet with the advertising for the company on the back. We have refinished this cabinet and it has a smooth and even finish(I believe the black backdrop of the drawer fronts may have been touched up-hard to tell for sure but if so. Excellent work) Also, note the turned pillars on either side of the drawers and the drawer incising. Best part of the cabinet to me is the brass drawers pulls which have JPC embossed into them. Unusual 'Honeycomb' 6 drawer Clark spool cabinet---14702
This is a spool cabinet model I haven't had in some time. It is a Clark six drawer cabinet in oak. This cabinet has been refinished and is in excellent condition with a smooth and even finish. Note the brass pulls which are in the shape of a spool of thread! Cabinet has fancy ends and what is usually called a honeycomb drawer fronts. Note the drawer ends have embossed flowers and leafs in a rather overall organic motif. An uncommon thread cabinet which would be useful as an end table or night stand. Antique Beautiful Solid Oak 2 Drawer Spool Cabinet (General Store)
You are viewing a beautiful Wm. Clark spool cabinet made of solid oak measuring 20" wide x 19" long x 7" high. I bought this wonderful cabinet 42 years ago in Ann Arbor Michigan and was told it came from a General Store in Ohio. It is clean and all original and has only been used for display in my home. It makes a great counter top display and is very sturdy and useful for any collection you may have. All 4 knobs are solid brass and original to the cabinet and both drawers are dovetailed. There is no replaced wood. No stains to the finish or significant damages to report. All sides and the bottom are original and in extremely good shape. This is a very good spool cabinet that's 7 1/2" tall. 17" wide, and 17 1/2" deep. The two drawers are put together with box/finger joints, front and back, which makes for a very strong drawer. Its unusual for the back of the drawer to be jointed. The top drawer has an old instruction sheet, glued to the bottom, on how to care for the spools. See picture No. 7) For its age the cabinet and drawers are in very good condition, with only a few, very minor dings, in the wood, and a slight water mark, on the top. This large counter top/table top cabinet measures 25.25" wide. 21" high and 18" deep. It is fairly heavy at approximately 60 lbs. The finish isn't perfect but it is in very, very nice condition. Some light scratches on top can be taken out with a Formby's kit, a few very small nicks on sharp edges, etc. and one very small defect 1/4" defect on top about 3" from by back of cabinet that can be filled and stained if needed(never detracted from appearance so we just left it in place) No odors. Very well built. Antique J P Coats Merchant Counter Spool Cabinet
Here is a 6 drawer antique oak J& P Coats Merchant Counter Spool Cabinet in it's original condition. It has not been altered other than normal wear. Cabinet has original brass knobs. There is a leather inset on the top as well as a place for an ink well and pen. Height:14" Length: 32 1/2" Width: 21 1/2" The top opens up to accomodate storage as well as having 6 drawers. The table that the cabinet is sitting on is not part of the piece. I accept payment through PayPal only. Cabinet will only be sold to local interested individual. Antique Oak Merricks Spool Cabinet Store Cabinet
This is a round cylinder style oak Merrick’s spool cabinet that still has it’s original glass fronts and original finish. The glass advertises. Merrick’s Six Cord Soft Finish Spool Cotton. The cabinet stands 20″ high and the knob in the center is 2 1/4″ higher. The diameter is 18“ This cabinet is in great condition, with normal wear, except it is missing the bottom round that cabinet sits on. The previous owner used it as a side table and never even realized there was a piece missing. It was a family piece and thats how it came to her. Also in one of the pics you can see a piece of tape( with some writing on it. We did not try to remove it, that will be up to the new owner. We would like to ship this FedEx or UPS and would like the UPS store to pack it. This will be the financial responsibility of the new owner. Thanks for looking!
