These impressive cabinets have a moulded edge top over a single frieze drawer atop pedestals with fielded panel doors and applied geometric mouldings and surmounted atop a plinth base. We used these cabinets for over 10 years without even realizing they were not the exact same Cerwin Vega speaker system. Each one sounds exactly alike. The cabinets are made with premium 1/2" and 3/4" plywood and fitted with handles, metal corners and rubber feet for easy roadability. The enclosure is vented with directly radiating speakers. These babies can take 200 Watts of EIA power each with 400Watts of peak handling. Nominal impedance of 4 ohms for maximum sensitivity with smaller amps. There are 2 matching cabinets. Approximate size 4ft tall by 2 1/2 ft wide and 15in deep. They were removed from the original bar from the house we bought in November 2013. The original light fixtures are still inside each cabinet. The handles are odd but easily replaced with vintage handles. The alligator finish on them is original aged formation. PAIR OF VINTAGE RCA DECO BAKELITE SPEAKER CABINETS BAFFLES W/LOGOS!!
This is a nice stereo pair of vintage RCA bakelite open-back wall baffles. They have been buffed and polished to a high gloss and are ready to accept any standard 8" driver and grill cloth of your choice. One of them has a 3" hairline crack on the top that runs through one of the screw mounting holes to the rear edge(please see photo) Otherwise there are no other cracks, chips or scratches in either cabinet. The crack will not show when the baffles are hung on a wall. There is some residual buffing compound in the decorative grooves and RCA logos that can be removed with some alcohol and a soft cloth. There are mounting brackets, screws and a masonite grill cloth panel insert for one baffle only. The panel can be used as a pattern for the missing one. This is an amazing pair of vintage Classic speakers made in the golden age of quality stereo components. They are the famous Klipsch Heresy 3-way speakers in a beautiful walnut cabinet with grills. The cabinets are in great condition the only issue being a few coffee cup rings on the top of the speakers. These speakers have labels on the back that say; Type H-WO. Serial number on one lable 685713(the other has no serial number marked) Inspected by Bob Hamilton marked on both speakers, Tested by NW Bradford marked on both speakers. It also says on the lable; Klipschorn, K-horn, Belle Klipsch, LaScala, Cornwall, Heresy, Short horn,and PWK logo are registered trademarks of Klipsch + AssociateInc. Hope, Arkansas U.S.A. The speakers look to be a matched set because they are signed by the same guys and looks to be in same inks.These fantastic speakers ... moresounded awesome when I hooked them up.
