Consistent with age dating to the 19th century, measuring approximately 110 inches tall by 61.75 inches wide by 21.5 inches deep(280 cm by 157 cm by 55 cm) The bronze hardware are later replacements done in the original style. It's very possible that this pair of cabinets came from within or near the forbidden city. Cabinets of this type and quality rarely come available. And when they do, it is only at major auction houses like Sotheby's or Christie's. The Bose Model 800's are a great acoustic suspension enclosure that has 8 speakers clustered together to provide clean, articulate sound and to focus on their frequency range when used with an Acoustimass Bass enclosure or other BOSE PA speaker cabinets of the time. Some of these ended up in home stereo system. Just note for best performance you would need an equalizer tailored for the Model 800's which is the Bose Model 800 EQ. The 901 I, OR Series II is the same EQ curve however it has RCA connectors as opposed to 1/4 TS. The EQ is an essential part of the speakers sound. This pair of 70’s Bose Model 800. 8 speaker PA cabinets is being sold used and comes to you in VG+ condition. There are no major marks. Scratches or scuffs on these speaker cabs, but there is rusting showing on some of the chrome parts and the rivets around the outside of the cab. Each cab has a cover with 4 latches each and all of those work properly. The original BOSE logos on each are in really nice shape and the grill cloth sows no rips or issues. It appears a handle or other outside accessory is no longer there as there are a couple of small bolt holes and a shadow of whatever was originally there showing on each cabinet. The unit works electronically and speakers seems in good shape. We did a basic test on this unit as we do not have the proper Bose EQ to thoroughly test this unit. We did get sound. You will receive this item well-packed but without the original paperwork or packaging. Vintage Pair of Metal Display Cabinets, 1960s
This no-reserve auction offers a vintage pair of metal display cabinets. There are no maker’s marks. We believe these are from the 1960s. These cabinets are tall. Sleek, and simple. They are entirely made of steel. Painted black. Each one has 5 shelves that are in fixed locations. Each cabinet slides apart. With a male/female apparatus, so they can be split on half for easier transport. The most unique thing about this pair is that they are tall(exactly 7 feet) and they have four-sided pointed tops. Similar to the roof of a house. They’re very unusual. We purchased these several years ago at Swank Interiors. St.Paul, MN, for $79.00 each—we still have the original sales tags. We don’t know their history or original use. There are holes in a couple of places on the“roof tops” that seem to imply that they might have had some type of advertising ... moreon them and that they were advertising display pieces. But this doesn’t make a lot of sense because they are so tall. In any case. They’re pretty cool. The condition of this pair is very good. There’s a small amount of corrosion here& there but nothing major. The condition can be seen in the photos. The cabinets each measure: 16” W x 84” H x 16” D. The weight is a guess. Somewhere around 40 lbs. each. We have no way to accurately weigh this item. My wife and I are private collectors that are liquidating our estate.
