EXCEPTIONAL PAIR OF ENGLISH REGENCY MAHOGANY ANTIQUE CABINETS Circa 1810-30 Item# 409VRP13S A positively beautiful pair of perfectly matched English Regency cabinets. These are a rare and exciting statement for any formal study or library. Both are of absolutely exquisite dimensions, each crafted with a fine profile and total depth of only 12 1/16" The cabinets are as nearly untouched as is desirable in English furniture, the only changes in nearly two hundred years being a likely refreshing of the surface and replacement of the fabrics. The mahogany top is banded around the edges, framing the glowing mahogany grains of the top, the whole projecting over the back rather significantly to allow the cabinet to rest flush against the wall despite the thick floor molding common in the early 19th century. The backs of the cabinets are crafted of broad planks of chamfered pine set in grooves in the frame. The entire case rests over wonderful boldly reeded feet, each crisply turned over the swollen baluster and terminating in a ring-turned foot. These are a very difficult form to find. Particularly in a rare matched pair and in such a wonderful overall condition. These precious cabinets are investment grade antiques that were crafted to last well beyond our lifetimes. Pair Antique Wooden Table Top Cabinets with Drawers Stacking
This is a pair of stacking antique wooden cabinets with drawers. There is a four-drawer and a five-drawer cabinet. They stack easily or can be used separately. They are hand made of solid wood-no plywood- and are probably poplar. They have a lovely patina from over 100 years of exposure. Perhaps they were used in a shop or store or had some industrial or commercial purpose or use. The drawers are hand dovetailed front and back. Drawer fronts are almost 1" thick and drawer bottoms are hand beveled or carved to fit into the drawer sides. Drawers have original porcelain knobs and screws. They are in very good to excellent vintage condition. They show normal signs of wear and use. But are not cracked, broken, damaged, etc. The only thing I see is inside the back top side of one drawer there is a small piece(about 1" x 1/4" x less ... morethan 1/8" missing or chipped; this is inside on the back of a drawer and is not visible nor does it affect the function of the drawer. Drawers slide in and out smoothly; there are no drawer stops inside so drawers go fully in. They have the original glue. And have not been repaired or re-glued. The two cabinets are similar in size but not exact: the 4 drawer cabinet measures 16 1/4"x 5 7/8" deep x 7 1/4" tall; the 5 drawer cabinet measures 16 1/4" x 6 1/4" deep x 7 1/4" tall.
