The doors are paneled and have very cool shell and foliage carvings. The hardware on the drawers and doors is original and there are two different keys which will lock and unlock each door. Besides the carved paneled doors. The other interesting carving on this piece is kind of a feathered or herringbone type carving. The top of the base is clean and in very good antique used condition.no major issues. The top has a shaped original beveled mirror and panels on each side and carving above those. The support columns are really nice turned columns with lots of detail and turnings. The very top is an Art Nouveau style crest. This sideboard will break down into five pieces.the base. The top, the crest, and the two turned columns so easy for transport. National Office Furniture - Executive Desk with 36" x 72" Oak laminate surface
I am moving and will need to downsize a bit so I have four desks that are being offered for sale. The bid price will be for one desk. The winning bidder can choose how many he/she would like. They were originally used by one of Ohio's leading engineering and architectural firms. Antique Pump Organ Beautiful Oak furniture Kimball?
This auction is for a beautifully restored pump organ. It is oak and has a light finish with some darker painted highlights. Lot of carved details. I think this organ may be from the 20's or 30's but am no expert on this item and am not sure of the brand. There is a sticker that says Kimball but it's not attached. The organ works. But I can't say if it's tuned correctly. Approximately dimensions are 76" tall x 44" wide& 23" deep. It has a nice beveled mirror that has a slight haze to it. Antique Oak desk circa 1930 from the European Revival Line by Lifetime Furniture
A masculine and substantial heavily carved solid oak desk. Paper stamp says"Lifetime Furniture" which is from the Grand Rapids Bookcase and Chair Co. operated until 1956) 36 1/2" wide by 66 1/2" long and 31" tall. This desk has spent its life. Up until a month ago, in the St. Ignatius Retreat House in Manhasset, NY. which has closed down. St. Ignatius is a Tudor Revival Palace built by utilities and tabacco mogul, Nicholas Brady in the 20's. It was also called Inisfada, meaning Long Island in Gaelic. In 1937 it was donated to the Jesuits. As the photos will show. The doors across the drawers are missing and two of the feet have a small section missing. There are a lot of surface scratches and a couple deeper one on the top. The finish is worn off in many places. This piece underwent an interesting and varied series of alterations that have resulted in a palpable tapestry of historical craftsmanship. The columns, for instance, appear to have once been part of another piece, as they have marks where a stretcher once would have joined them. Meanwhile, the counter, the pulls, and all but the fronts of the drawers were replaced later during the Victorian period, closer to the close of the 19th century. But the rest is legible. Quick restore polish used on the furniture. In Storage for years.I did do a repair on the rear leg as shown. Was cracked and poorly repaired. Removed the old metal brace. I took the leg off and drilled ... moreboth portions in the center of the 2 pieces and installed a steel rod 1/2" diameter X 6" length. Pin is not visible as the pin is in the middle of the wood. The leg will NEVER break there again. A new L brace on the back side unseen from the front to complete the repair.Nice tight repair. Other issue is the tamba door which rolls up& down. I had to duct tape the handle on the back side. A new cloth or woven material should be glued on the back side so it rolls nicely again as one. Probably billiard felt would work well too. With contact cement on both portions and clamp. The door rolls as shown now. I spent enough time repairing the leg on this so new owner will complete this noted defect. For ultimate show the piece should be refinished or at minimum touched up with Orange shellac as is the original finish still on the pieces.Typical of 1940s-1950s furniture refinishing. Repair shop can do this relatively easy. If I had more time would do it myself. Its noted so no surprises. That said its a nice older sturdy desk that will retain value. Oak is always desired. In a highly desirable oak wood finish with simple brass pulls, in what is most like a Danish modern style design and in very nice condition, clean inside and out. Probably hailing from the mid-late 70's, information from the consignor about the bed referred to it being a Milo Baughman design. It is wired for under lighting on the bottom side of the floating platform bed and though I ran out of room for pictures of all the wonderful features of this great set, I have more available upon request including this lighting set up. This terrific group appears to have been barely used and I have included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent both it's beauty and condition. I attempt to also show ... morethis group can be rearranged in many constellations, giving you numerous decorating options depending upon your individual needs, likes and the shape of your room. This wonderful bedroom group includes the platform bed 79 inches long by 83 inches wide by 14 inches tall. Which travels as a base and two top platform panels and the bin headboard unit to be used flush against the bed, which measures 80 inches long by 16 inches front to back and 31 3/4 inches tall(same height as all dresser components) and opens to reveal two large handy immaculately clean storage bins for extra pillows, blankets, etc. The set also has two smaller dressers, used here like nightstands, each 25 1/2 inches wide by 21 1/4 inches front to back and again, 31 3/4 inches tall. Heirloom Golden OAK bed frame and matching dresser- estate furniture c 1900
This bedroom set has been in my mother's family for 5 generations. I'm not sure of the exact age. I am not a dealer, but my calculations it puts it as most likely late 1800's or maximum early 1920's. There are some minor cosmetic dings and damage, but it's in amazing condition for 100+ years old, especially considering we all used it growing up. A true testament to the quality of furniture makers of years gone by. As I said. I am not a professional antique dealer and do not have the vocabulary to describe all the intricacies. I can tell you this, these pictures don't even do it justice in my opinion(but I'm not a professional photographer either) The bed will accommodate a full mattress and at least a 6'4" man. The applied carvings and scrolls(decorative moulding) on headboard and footboard are all intact ... moreand the footboard has a rolling pin top on it. Which sets it apart from all the other ones I have seen while researching this. dimensions: 81" long, 62"tall(headboard) 60" wide, 38" tall(footboard) The rolling pin top comes off for moving, storing. One end tip of the rolling pin is a bit loose, it just needs to be tapped back on with a new nail. I haven't done it because I'm hoping the person who buys this may have access to the authentic type nails and not one from Home Depot(like me) Claw feet with original wooden wheels. The dresser comes apart in two pieces. The top piece has two bonnet/hat boxes with mirrored doors and a shelf in each. With drawers underneath. These are SO cool! My mother had vintage hats for us to use as dress up clothing and I loved keeping my favorites in these'secret' hiding places that had been used to hold the'fancy lady hats' There is a recessed mirror in the middle that can tilt, depending on height of owner. This is a really special piece with an original finish that glows! The dimensions are 50" X 30" X 30" and is very heavy. The through tenons are faux and the lower shelf is missing the outside faux tenon on one side as seen in the pictures. The right hand drawer has also been rebuilt but retains the original front. I would love to keep this for myself but. After much discussion with my husband, it is ready for a new home. The previous owner spray painted the hardware. We can remove the paint or leave that to the new owner. All joints are super tight and. With the exception of a few white scuffs, it is in excellent condition. ANTIQUE STICKLEY BROS FURNITURE RETAILER'S POSTCARD arts & crafts mission oak
Rare antique postcard showing an early Stickley Brothers Arts& Crafts interior rendering in color. It is full of Stickley Brothers furniture. This interior view was originally drawn by native Scotsman David Robertson Smith. One of their early and extremely gifted designers. He first worked for Albert Stickley in London circa 1901, then was convinced to come to America. He won major awards for Stickley Brothers at the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exhibition in St. Louis. It is a postcard that was likely provided by Stickley Brothers or the Grand Rapids Furniture Record to retailers. It has a calendar on the backside that is for November 1911 and the postcard is postmarked 1911. This same image is shown on page 110 in the book: The Stickley Brothers" a reference book by noted Arts& Crafts era historians.Michael E. Clark(who sadly recently ... morepassed away in 2012) and his wife Jill Thomas-Clark. This book notes that this image was drawn by David Robertson Smith and appeared in 1905 in the Grand Rapids Furniture Record. Condition is good.crease in one corner.
