ANTIQUE CLARK'S O.N.T. SPOOL CABINET REVERSE GLASS DRAWERS COUNTRY STORE SEWING
Fresh out of a 70 year advertising collection is this antique Clark's O.N.T. spool cabinet. It has a wonderful rich patina and primitive country store look. The photos don't do it justice. It's much prettier in person. It has it's original drawer pulls(one of the inside drawer curved metal pull fasteners is missing as well as two of the pull backing plates) Three of the 1" drawer stops are missing(easy fix) and one drawer bottom has been replaced with masonite. The drawer fronts have black reverse glass painted lettering backed by gold foil. There are three cracks in the glass which are fairly difficult to see and in my opinion do not detract from their overall appearance. One runs along the left side of the"N" in O.N.T. and above the"T" Another goes through the lower part of the"O" in Spool ... moreand the third runs between the"O" and"N" in Cotton. There is a crack on the top near the back of the cabinet adding to it's primitive look. See photos for further condition details. The dimensions are: 21 3/4" wide x 15 1/2" deep x 7 1/4" tall. One little dent on the top you can hardly notice it. The top has a latch and it is solid. All of the seams are solid. The names of the spices turn hard. I moved it to see Cinnamon. Antique Curved Glass 36" Countertop Country Store Display Case Showcase cabinet
I have up for sale a very nice vintage/ antique circa 1900 Countertop Curved Glass Display Showcase cabinet- measures approx 35-1/2" long. 24" deep, 14" tall. These are outside dimensions. The case is made of wood with what appears to be a nickel plated metal covering over the wood. The back door is hinged- appears to be original as far as I can tell. There is no manufacturers markings anywhere that I can see. I have seen this same nickel over wood type case before.One was made by the Kansas City Showcase Works and the other by Stein Showcases of Rochester, NY. The case comes from the estate of a 90+ year old Antique Dealer used in her Antique shop. It is in Very Good Condition- the glass is basically excellent with no damages- nice and clear. Overall the case is in what I would call very good shape- looks great as well. It ... moreappears as though the inside wood was refinished many years back- meaning the inner surface and inside back door. The bottom boards have some minor separation. I notice that the back door needs some attention. The right side does not snug up close as the left side does, so it may need some adjusting. Also the latch plunger is just a bit short of catching onto the upper part of the latch that holds it and keeps it shut. I have this shown in my last pic. This is an old piece and there is normal age and use wear and imperfections. The top also features a pen rest and ink well slot. The spool cabinet is 29 1/4" L X 20 1/4" D X 13 5/8" H. The drawers are all dovetailed with matching pulls and the sides and back of the cabinet have recessed panels. Fresh out of an Estate is this really good condition original nice oak w/ nice patina finish and color. Actually can't believe this is such original shape fresh w/ cobwebs dust etc but no one has messed w/ it. Measures appox 23 high by 20 and 16 wide. Nice labels- J. P. Coats Spool Cotton- nice stenciling etc as shown. One very small missing crack of glass at very lower bottom of right side of one of spool slots as shown. One knob on the roll top missing( the roll top works fine) piece of wood on bottom round rotating disk missing as shown(easy fix) and still turns good- lots of dust and cobwebs- have not even cleaned it- just the way I received it- has normal wear w/ some slight scratches etc and all the doors and drawers seem to work fine- color is fine w/ appropriate patina. This is a beautiful Dye cabinet from the early 1900s. It measures 17x13.75x8.5 inches. It is in good condition. It has wooden knobs and all the hardware look to be original. It has two small holes on one side. And two on back door, one in the A and one in the o. Some of the shelving is missing inside. It has a very nice paper label on the inside of door. Overall cabinet is in very nice condition for age. There are some minor scuffs and typical wear to the wood. Only notable flaw is a long stress crack to the wood top. Rare and unique antique wood 2 drawer needle case; top drawer label is: Jas. Smith& Sons. Bottom drawer: NEEDLES. It is about 7x12" and 5" tall. Jas. Smith& Sons is a famous umbrella store in the United Kingdom and at one time had a sewing supply sale room, so it probably used there. The case is covered with spongeware type material that I believe is paper. Condition is very good, has 1 small circle on the top that may have been a label. The label on the drawers show some wear and the bottom wood edge is a bit rough. Very study no wiggle, one section is damaged there is a spare piece of wood that can be used for the repair of this section. Great worn original red paint. Paneled ends. Tongue and groove top. Small 1880s-1890s Brainerd & Armstrong Silk Walnut Country Store Display Cabinet
Up for auction is a 19th Century 1880s or 1890s Victorian Era Brainerd& Armstrong Silk Mfg of New York City and Philadelphia Walnut Country Store Countertop Display Cabinet Chest. It measures 20" tall. 13" wide, and 11 1/2" deep. One of the inside front vertical shelf supports is split and one of the inside side horizontal shelf supports is broken. The upper two shelves are adjustable. I am not positive that they are original. The three shelves as well as the bottom of the cabinet is made from secondary wood and not walnut. Sometime in it's life a magnetic door securer has been added and can easily removed. I use pink foam boards and foam backed bubble wrap to package my fragile items so rest assured it will be sent out with the best of care. Any questions, 734-516-9166.
