Here I'd had this gorgeous quarter-sawn oak cube-like drawer-cabinet, and always assumed that it didn't fit CD's, since so many of the old card files& card-catalogue drawers are too small for the standard CD case. But in measuring it for this listing. We realized that this classic antique is indeed unusually well-suited for these quintessential modern electronic storage necessities. Whether you need to store drawers full of CD's or not. This piece is a beauty. It looks like there's no veneer on this piece, and that every panel is solid through& through. And unlike most cabinets of this sort, it was made so that every one of its sides(even the bottom) is beautiful, smooth, flush& meant to be seen. The quartersawn, ... moretiger-oak panels are just exquisite, golden-oak natural colored and of a very clean, simple design. The form of this cabinet is nearly an exact cube. Measuring about 21" high, 20-1/2" wide& 20" deep(plus handles) Drawers measure inside about 5-7/8" high, 8-3/4" wide& 18-3/4" deep(at the top, the fronts taper to a thicker bottom inside) This piece is absolutely beautiful. It's in excellent condition to my eye. The back panels do have a vertical separation of a small gap. But this is just a bit of shrinkage in the solid lumber& not really a flaw, in my opinion. Otherwise just age-appropriate small scuffs here& there, but altogether an excellent, gorgeously made, solid awesome cube with excellently useful drawers, that would make a perfect end-table. Ohio this is both a great piece of history and very functional. This card catalog has all the maker stamps on both the inside and outside. Another amazing feature about this rare piece of the bottom where it is stamped"Property Air Force/United States Army. The stories this piece of history could tell! It's overall in great condition. 1940s Vintage "Weis" Wood Library Index Card Catalog Industrial Cabinet File
This antique"Weis" index card catalog file cabinet measures 19-1/4 inches wide. 15" deep, and 14-1/2" tall. Modular construction, it has a top half and a bottom half, with two drawers per section. The drawer fronts are made of wood, not oak, fine grain hardwood such as ash or maybe poplar, and is painted olive drab green. The sides and back are made of a thin sheet material, perhaps plywood or masonite. Please note the original Weis decal located on the top of the cabinet. The drawer pulls are made of metal, probably steel, but I didn't check. This type of cabinet is great for index card storage, of course, but I have others like it that make great'small parts storage' for my workshop. Dovetailed construction throughout and original brass hardware. missing the brass rods and drawer dividers, 1 drawer does have a metal divider) Will hold a 3x5" card. It measures 19.5"L x 13.35"W x 12.75"H. The pictures show how great this cabinet really is. The only flaws that are really visible, besides normal wear and tear, are seen in the last 2 photos, a small gouge in the upper right drawer and 2 small screw holes that have been filled, in the middle lower drawer. The drawer is a piece of art and would compliment any cabinet collection. It is very heavy due to the solid wood! The listing has been updated with a new photo showing the insides of the 9 cabinets.

Dovetailed wood with original Brass pulls, LOWER RIGHT FRONT DRAWER HAS BEEN REPAIRED AND STILL VERY SOLID drawers work easily and smoothly with inner adjustable slides missing. Somebody at one time put a plywood insert to keep things from falling out the bottom. This appears to be solid wood. Back has plywood veneer that is a little chippy, excellent condition overall with age related patina and fading to stain otherwise looks very nice. Measures 15 inches long(without the handles) 14 inches wide and 9 1/2 inches tall. Tight grained wood looks like oak. Very solid and heavy item. upper cabinet for display only.

This strip holds the card in place. It stands 15" tall by 24" deep by 8 1/8" wide. I tested all the drawers and all worked fine. My inspection found no broken draws and no sign of repairs. Used IBM punch card file cabinet 12 drawers(bottom drawer is stuck) Each Drawer has two removable trays for punch cards(one tray is missing) A piece of sheet metal has been placed in the bottom of almost all of the trays. Which have an open slot in the bottom. Cabinet is 19.75 inches wide by 29.75 incheds deep by 52 inches high. It is a little dented up as shown. But the top 11 drawers work very nice and are full extension roller slides. This is a very heavy duty cabinet and works great as a tool cabinet. VINTAGE 16 MULTI DRAWER REMINGTON RAND KARDEX INDUSTRIAL FLAT FILE CARD CABINET
Please note that this is a PICK-UP ONLY auction because this item is very heavy. I'm located in Manasquan. NJ, which is about 1.5 hours South of NYC and 1.5 hours East of Philadelphia. This is a very cool industrial metal file cabinet that's from the early to mid 1900's. It contains 16 drawers that slide out and fold down. Each drawer has 65 individual slots which can protectively store& organize your documents/items. It can organize a minimum of 1040 items. Great for documents. Photos, artwork, postcards, receipts, ephemera collections, paperwork, or anything else you can possible insert into the slots& drawers. The Kardex measures 10.5" wide. 20.5" tall, and 24" deep. It shows some signs of wear from decades of use(see photos) But it still functions as it's intended. It's maroon in color, but can ... morebe painted if maroon doesn't work for you. Original Card Holder This Holder was removed from a Globe Wernicke File Cabinet. The holder pictured is the one you will receive. It is just like it was removed and has not been cleaned. Has the original mounting bolts and washers. Dimensions: 3 5/8" wide x 1 15/16" tall. Mounting lugs are 3 1/4" apart on center. Condition: Nice. Has not been cleaned or recently polished but the back has traces of brass polish from long ago. See pictures. Email if your looking for particular parts for stackers. FILE CARD CABINET 2 DRAWERS 5 X 8 INDEX CARD Vintage Antique
Lovely Index File Card Cabinet with a Warm Appearance for Auction. My detail photos are a bit harsh. But they do show a small number of flaws. The white stuff in the 2nd photo is mostly gone. Looks like Duct Tape residue. 3rd photo also reveals a small 1/8- 1/4 inch burn. Photo of the back reveals veneer loss and subsequent sanding to smooth the surface. Ink stain in drawer. If you notice anything else, please bring it to my attention. I don't like surprises and neither should anyone else looking for a handsome mid-century cabinet. Joints are sound with a generally very good finish. Unknown maker left a crayon mark"282" within and an impressed"282-Y" on the bottom. Made in the USA is also stamped in the interior.
