Did not find a manufacturers' name on this but in one of the drawers were some numbers as you can see in picture 8. These cabinets are good for a lot of things and look great. RARE ca 1895 MACEY TIGER OAK FILE FILING CABINET DOCUMNT & BIG CARD FILES
FOLKS, It's been 3 years since we been lucky enough to have a"one piece" MACEY Tiger Oak File with interchangeable sections of various file styles. The grain pattern of the tiger oak are awesome. The finish has a medium rich honey hue. I believe this is an early model because the cuts of the solid tiger appear a little thicker than others we've had. There are two sections with two document holders with compression panels. The other two sections each have rare filing drawers measuring from the inside 11 1/4" wide. 4 3/4" high and 17 1/2" deep with compression panels also. Overall dimensions of this treasure are 15" wide. 21" deep and 55" high. Just remove the screw on the top of each section and you can change where the sections go for your preference! This extraordinary piece comes from the Department of interior. The 72 drawers are fitted with multi-label solid brass hardware. The drawer fronts are solid maple with plastic card holders. The cabinet comes apart into four sections for easy moving. Each section has 15 drawers. There is also a base/riser section. Two pull-out table sections, and a top cap. There is a mix of wood and plastic drawer bodies. I would guess that two of the units came with wood drawers and two were added later with plastic drawers. All of the drawer faces are the same, though if you look very closely the guide rod is slightly different in appearance. One guide rod is missing and a couple are loose or slightly bent. The top of the cabinet shows some wear. There are nicks on 3 of the top corners and 2 of the bottom corners as shown in the pictures. All of the rods and pulls are present and original. The black clasps on the bottom doors are replacements. Stands 60 inches tall. Is 40 inches wide and is 16 inches deep. The great thing about this file is that the oak drawers are pretty much solid on the bottoms so if you wanted to remove the rods it would make it a lot more usable for holding other items. Wood Library 3x5" Index Card 4 Drawer File Cabinet
Offered as a'buy it now is this 4 drawer 3" x 5" file cabinet manufactured by Shaw Walker. The overall dimensions are 14" wide x 15" deep x 9-1/2" height. There is a crack on one side which is the result of a slight warp in a panel. It has been refinished and the color is very close to original. The japonned hardware is original. The bottom left hand drawer face has been repaired also. All of the interior hardware works as it should. The felt pads cover what was hardware for some sort of interior block or divider. ANTIQUE QUARTERSAWN GOLDEN-OAK CARD-FILE CABINET THIS ONE FITS CD'S! Well this was a discovery. Here I'd had this gorgeous quarter-sawn oak cube-like drawer-cabinet, and always assumed that it didn't fit CD's, since so many of the old card files& card-catalogue drawers are too small for the standard CD case. But in measuring it for this listing. We realized that this classic antique is indeed unusually well-suited for these quintessential modern electronic storage necessities. Whether you need to store drawers full of CD's or not. This piece is a beauty. It looks like there's no veneer on this piece, and that every panel is solid through& through. And unlike most cabinets of this sort, it was made so that every one of its sides(even the bottom) is beautiful, smooth, flush& meant to be seen. The quartersawn, ... moretiger-oak panels are just exquisite, golden-oak natural colored and of a very clean, simple design. The form of this cabinet is nearly an exact cube. Measuring about 21" high, 20-1/2" wide& 20" deep(plus handles) Drawers measure inside about 5-7/8" high, 8-3/4" wide& 18-3/4" deep(at the top, the fronts taper to a thicker bottom inside) This piece is absolutely beautiful. It's in excellent condition to my eye. The back panels do have a vertical separation of a small gap. But this is just a bit of shrinkage in the solid lumber& not really a flaw, in my opinion. Otherwise just age-appropriate small scuffs here& there, but altogether an excellent, gorgeously made, solid awesome cube with excellently useful drawers, that would make a perfect end-table.
