Condition: Used Location: Lake Dallas, United States 18th century solid oak Butlers Hutch This was purchased over 30 years ago at the Antique Buyers guild( The old Helms Bakery L.A) We where told at the ... moretime of the purchase that it dates to the late 1700's and was made in the Adam period French in origin. It is a impressive piece of furniture. It is all hand carved solid oak. The cabinets each have one shelf inside bottom is sagging so I placed a piece of hard board in there. It has a incredible dark patina. It measures approx. 94 1/2" tall 47" wide under 24" deep The hutch is attached to the base using dowels So it lifts off the base From what I remember they only stick out a inch You need at least a 8' ceiling. My home was built in the late 1940's so the ceilings are 8'2" a newer home might be a tight fit. Years ago because I was concerned about earthquakes I attached 2) 2"x4"s to the back to make it sturdier. They are stained to match. So for those of you with a tight fit. I think it could be set up without the dowels across the back because of the 2" x4"s the 2 spindles in the front supporting the hutch also come off. There are dowels sticking out both ends. You could leave one end in and maybe put a screw trough the bottom. One other modification I noticed will up inside the cabinet is that wood was added on both sides under the base's top( I would guess the top may have been sagging under the weight of the Hutch) hence the addition. There are 2 small dowels missing on the rail on the inside( good place) hardly noticeable. One small piece gone off the top. Again hardly noticeable. I didn't catch it when I bought it. Other then that as you can see it is impressive without being over bearing. I don't need to sell so I don't plan on dropping my prices. This price is what I want to part with it. Horner set up his business at 61-65 West 23rd Street in Manhattan. What made his marketing plan unique is that he targeted not only wealthy New Yorkers who were seeking to furnish or redecorate their homes, but those of more moderate means as well. In fact, the company specifically referred to its wares as"First-class and Medium Quality Furniture" in its advertising at the time. In this way, Horner took up where J&J.W. Meeks had left off in 1868. Antique Oak Curved Glass Front China Cabinet Carved Lions Paw Feet-Mirrored Back
Beautiful Antique Turn of the Century Oak China Cabinet. The cabinet rests on 4 heavily carved lions paw feet. There is a thick band of moulding along the bottom edge of the cabinet; leaf/vine carvings at the leg joints. Continuing upwards from the 2 front legs are long columns that extend to top pediment of the cabinet. Both sides have a quarter moon shape with curved glass. The glass front door has a serpentine like curve with a lock and key. The top moulding has a beautifully carved crest with leaf/vine carvings surrounding and dentil style moulding along the entire front. There are 4 glass shelves on the interior of the cabinet with a full mirrored back. The china cabinet is in excellent condition and has been well taken care of over the years. Antique American Curved Glass Carved Tiger Oak China Cabinet c.1870
Excellent condition; additional photos available upon request. Glass is original. And original casters(not shown) are included. Purchased in St. Louis. Missouri, by Mrs. Elizabeth Frazee of Belleview, Kentucky. According to family lore, her husband Dr. A. D. Frazee gave money to the Christian church, and Mrs. Frazee responded to his philanthropic habit by spending comparable sums on fine furnishings. After Dr. Frazee died in 1875, the family moved to Columbia, Missouri, where the cabinet passed into the possession of Elizabeth's daughter Mary Frazee Russell. In 1901, Mary and her husband Walter moved to Deming, New Mexico, believing the climate would improve her health. Five years later, Mary died and Walter moved the family to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, building a cabin of hand-hewn logs. When the cabin was ready, Walter sent to New Mexico ... morefor the cabinet and other furnishings, which were shipped to Idaho by wagon and rail, finally crossing Lake Coeur d'Alene by steamboat. The cabinet then passed to Mary and Walter's daughter Julia Russell, who would marry Oliver Libby in 1930. In 1969, Julia gave the cabinet to Howard Libby, her son and only child. Howard, a Baptist pastor, moved the cabinet to his family's home in Wilsonville, Oregon, then on to Sweet Home, Oregon, Tualatin, Oregon, and Keizer, Oregon. Howard died in 2005, followed by his wife Dorothy in 2014. Offered for sale by Howard and Dorothy's children.

It is a beautiful piece that came out of a local estate. The only thing was missing was an escutcheon on the door on the bottom and the side glass has to be replaced. The china buffet is great with a left hand side closet for ample dish storage. The right hand side has an antique bevel glass mirror with a big deep surface area to place the silver sets. A really large deep dove tail drawer, a double door section and a large dove tail drawer in the base. It is all in tiger sawn original dark oak stain finish. It is a beautiful piece with a cabriole pad foot style leg, cut out grills on the side of the bevel glass mirror.
