Each drawer has the 1892 and 1894 patent date on them.The Library Bureau Sole Makers Company was in business from the early 1880s to about 1925.I guess the library in the 1890s had to be the only gateway to the world and the hands that were in these drawers.Very nice old patina and there are a few issues but not major and easily addressed and fixable with low expense.There is a piece along the right rear back panel which is not really visible from the front.A couple drawers have some cracks and one has a piece of the rear panel gone but every issue is repairable and I have not altered or repaired anything so you are dealing with the original item.No screws or glue added but it could use some skill to keep it original.There was tape used on the exterior over the years and those are the shadows you see in the photographs.The shadow of the ring on the top was put there by the original librarian so I had a place to put my coffee cup.It is a really cool piece and soundly built.Another 100 years is no problem with this guy. Vintage, Antique Oak Library Card Catalog with 2 stacks & 4 Drawers C. 1912
Up for sale is a vintage library card catalog. It is a four drawer. Dovetailed oak, two piece stacking unit. The drawers are wood, and in excellent condition with their original brass pulls. All the drawers slide fairly easily, except for drawer L-Q which has some wear on the wood but it still works fine. The metal rods and card stop/supports are all there and work well. Supports are stamped Pat. June 25, 1912. The bottom stacking piece has some age cracks along the sides in addition to some scuffs and scratches. Paint spatters, and a few dings to the wood. The pictures show the worst age cracks where the wood is split in two places, but it is still solid and together. Dimensions of the two stacks combined is 13 3/8" wide. 10 1/4" tall, and 15" deep. Purchased from old building auction. I will do my best to describe. 12 drawers. Oak outer, metal inner all marked Globe. This is 2 pieces stacked, 6 drawers each. This will need some restoration. There is a laminate piece that was placed on the top. There are 2 drilled holes in the top. Faded paint? markings throughout. One drawer pull is split, there is one pull missing. Wheels were attached on the bottom with ply wood, can be removed. This stands 26.6" tall minus the wheels and ply wood. 33" in width. Very heavy. The manufacturer's tag on the back is from the Gaylord Brothers Company. It's in very nice condition, with a nice patina and a few normal scuffs and minor dings from the years. It does have 2 very small veneer chips on the back at the bottom edge. These wouldn't be seen if the file was on a desk or table against the wall. It shows a lot of character and patina from the last 100 years. It's not perfect, but has a nice appearance and looks good on a desk or table. The drawers have the card supports present and the drawers operate smoothly. The back has paneled construction which is nice, and everything is dovetailed for added quality. Antique Weis Wood Library Bureau Card Catalog 4 Drawer Stacked Industrial Box measuring approx 16 x 13.5 x 10.25 inches. The top and bottom two seperate The face of the botom right door has the top edge missing. Bottom edge of the bottom left drawer has a splintering section could be fixed. There are nail holes on the inside of the trays, someone had partitioned the drawers at one time. The top file has 2 cracks in the wood vertically on the back. The bottom file has a a couple of similar cracks as well and one on the side. The back right corner of the bottom is loose and could pull off if you try. This can be fixed, possibly glued but would be fine if left alone. Please see photos for further details.

Vintage Globe Wernicke Library Card Catalog File Box is made of wood and has been painted a dark green color. It measures 15 1/2" in length. 10" in width, and is 7" high. The handle is wood, the label holder on the front is metal. Pictures show several views of the front of the box and a view of the inside of the box with the drawer open. The next pictures include views of all sides of the box as it is turned clockwise and a view of the underside of the box. The inside of the box is in perfect condition. It is all wood and the cart support moves easily on a wood dowel rod. The paint on the box is scratched and nicked up as you would expect of a vintage piece. The wood handle is intact and sturdy as is the label holder. The manufacturers label is located below the wood handle on the front of the box. Hello you are bidding on a Rare Antique Library Bureau Sole Makers 4 Drawer Card Catalog File Cabinet.This item is in overall good condition for a item of its age.The wood shows normal wear.It does have some scratches and such in places.The back of this cabinet has some wood starting to peel off.On the front as you can see the very top piece above the drawers has a small gap in it where it has warped or just come a little out of place from age.The drawer hinges are missing a couple of the wood screws but thats no big deal as they are easily replaceable.This item is an excellent piece for a full restoration or just clean it up a little with some wood working skills and wood treatment.Either way you look at it.This is a remarkable piece and would be great to the right person.

This is an antique oak card catalog. Made around 1930S. It was made by the company"GLOBE" globe label and brass name plates and has the original brass tag and drawer pulls. It is in good original condition and drawers work as should. Both card supports are still present in the drawers and work well. This card file holds 3" by 5" index cards. This is a really well made file, with good construction all around. Please look at the photos. The finish is darker than the photos. The outside dimensions are 7 1/2" inches wide by 17" inches deep by 9 1/2" inches tall, so this is the great size to sit on a desk or kitchen counter top.

Thanks for checking out our listing! Offered here is a gorgeous. Early Yawman& Erbe Manufacturing Co. antique floor model library or office twenty five drawer index file cabinet or card catalog. This hard-to-find model has some great things going for it.it is high quality, large with 25 drawers, free standing and an early model! In addition, t his unusual piece is a rare stacking model.the top and. Each consecutive layer of drawers, lift off all the way to the base. A total of 7 pieces including top, base and five rows of drawers(5 drawers each) Solid wood(sorry but I'm unsure what kind.possibly Walnut as it is quite dark and not as dense as Oak) with beautiful grain and dark finish. Both the top and base feature lovely. Wide moldings that are deeper than the actual drawers, creating a nice decorative accent not normally seen on cabinets ... morelike this. There is also a simple, decorative molding that runs the height of the cabinet on each side of the drawer rows. All original, untouched finish with the exception of the bottom, left hand drawer front which someone has stripped/begun to refinish. this isn't very noticeable. However, if you are looking to refinish the entire piece, it's a good sign of what's beneath because this drawer looks great! Each of the drawers has a solid wood front, dovetailed into secondary solid wood sides. All of the hooked handles/label holders on drawer fronts are original, solid copper with terrific patina(please note that one of these on the bottom left corner has been refinished/polished as mentioned above) Each of the drawer fronts on the bottom row features a small, copper tab with the company logo, Y& E Co. embossed on it. It appears that perhaps these were also originally present on the drawers just above but now there are just small pre-cut holes.
