I hauled this out of the basement of an old home, and it is showing some age ... morewear, most notably with a couple slices out of drawer faces. There is slight pull away of the dovetailing on the bottom, but I think you could probably carefully tap it back into place. The previous owner did a very slap-up job of putting a dark stain on it, so the finish is somewhat inconsistent, you can see the oak in places inside, and there are faint watermarks on top, but I honestly love the look and character of this piece, and it's completely solid and functional. All four metal sliders are still inside, though they are a little stiff/rusty. Measures about 16" x 13 1/2" x 9 1/2".

Furniture manufacturers were starting to use veneers and stains to simulate more expensive solid wood. The start of the Industrial Age to 1910 saw the diminishment of our great forrest stands of timber. This cabinet boasts it's original label on the top as well as original file drawer pulls. The drawers fronts have light finish loss. Please use the magnify feature to see this. Luckily none of the previous owners used any type of permanent paper in the file slots inside the drawer pulls. The inside bottom of all of the drawers have a hole so that legal documents could be stored that took up all of the drawers interior volume. You would pull the drawer open and insert your finger underneath and up through the hole to lift the pile of documents so that you just slide off the amount that you needed without wrinkling the documents. This cabinet measures 10 1/2" tall. 9 13/16" wide and 15 7/8" deep including the drawer pulls. The drawers measure 1" deep, 8 5/8" wide and 14 1/4" deep. The drawer measurements are the usable interior dimensions. The drawers are for the most part are very clean with just one of them having a small amount of dry residue. The drawers do not have any odor. The exterior of the cabinet is of fingerjoint construction with the inerior drawers being nailed. The exterior joints are very solid. The cabinet has various light scratches and some pinpoint paint drips. The top has a very small area of finish loss. The sides near the front of the cabinet have some slight finish loss as well. Facing the cabinet, it's right side has some finish loss along the bottom edge. This same side has a tight crack about 1 1/2" long coming up from the bottom. it is not very noticeable. Antique file cabinet from the long closed Statesboro. Georgia Sanitarium/ Norris Hotel building. The cabinet has four drawers with letter file inserts. The cabinet is solid quarter sawn oak and the file inserts are a heavy cardboard, the back has a veneer panel. The file inserts are removable. Each drawer has a slot for a label. The file box measures about 15 1/2" wide x 13 1/2" deep x 18" tall. Excellent condition. There are several chips to the rear back bottom as pictured. It would be perfect for the draftsman or artist or just about anyone who likes to stay organized. It has a wood grained look to the metal. It has acquired a patina that only comes with age. The 6 drawers are exactly alike and each has 2 drawer pulls and name tag that are made of Brass. The measurements of the cabinet are 23 1/4" X 9 1/4" X 7" high. Some of the inside of the drawers show some wear and some of them look to have never been used. Please refer to pictures. This cabinet is very well built. This is such a sweet piece and very unusual in design. It is a NYC apartment size stackable vintage steel two drawer file cabinet. It was manufactured by McBee Binder Co. Athens, Ohio, according to what I find on the cabinet. It says"Manufactured by McBee Binder Co. Athens, Ohio. Patent Applied For. I believe it dates to some time between the late 1920s and 1930s. Based on my online research. I found patent information for this cabinet which says"Dec 6, 1927, filed by Charles F. McBee, McBee Binder Company. Filing Date June 23, 1922. Publication date December 6, 1927. Publication No. US1651829A. It is 26" tall x 10 1/4" wide and 15" deep. The drawers are actually 13" deep but the top extends 2" further. It is made of pressed steel and not the cheaper metal that file cabinets were subsequently made of. It ... moreweighs 43.5 lbs. Rare Antique Globe Ideal File Cabinet One out of the First Production Years
Very Rare Globe File Cabinet 1887 Globe Files Company"Globe Ideal Cabinet File" 30 Drawer Upright Letter Cabinet Now could be your chance to own this piece of history! This is one of the oldest intact I have seen yet! Patent Date is August 15 1887- May 30 1889(Engraved on the front top of each drawer) At least 123 years old- Amazing shape for an item made of Tiger Oak Wood this long ago Item History This was bought from an estate in the Evergreen Historic District in Memphis.Tn a few years ago and the owner was the file/record keeper for the circus. One 1966 Ernie's Miniature Circus postcard was found in a drawer labeled Circus Review Portland,Tn. The patent date on each drawer is engraved 1887. The top of the cabinet says"The Globe Ideal Cabinet File" All the drawers have a paper built inside with usage instructions ... moreand the manufacturer labeled a spot for the new owner to sign the date first used.This one's first known owner listed the date first used as July 1st,1897, ten years after the manufacture/patent date. See all pictures. It has all original drawers and hardware. The only one I have seen close to this was in a museum. Item Condition As with anything of this age it has normal dents and dings but not major. One drawer has a thin crack on the inside bottom of drawer not visable from the outside and does not interfere with the operation of the drawer. It has had a darker stain put on at some point on the outside(see pictures) I did not alter or attempt to refinish. We decided to leave it the way it is and let the next owner decide. All interior drawer labels are intact and in good shape. Handle hardware is all original with a few slightly bent inward. 67" tall. 33" wide, 25"deep. Two bookcase sections 14.5" tall. One 12.5" tall. Style seems to be Mission crossing over to Mid Century Modern. Stow Davis was one of the top furniture makers of high quality office furniture. They employed well known designers and are known for their Mid Century Modern styles. This piece is very well built high quality solid walnut. Great orginial condition and finish. It has seven stacking sections. Base, file cabinet, file cabinet top, three bookcase sections, bookcase top. Each section is stamped with Stow Davis logo, several sections have 1934 date on them. Hardware looks to be high quality stainless steel. Only problems are one of file drawer is missing steel carraige and doesn't pull out as easy as the other and there is a repaired crack toward back of file cabinet. I've had it over 25 years and used it in my home advertising agency office for maps. Mat board, prints, etc. I'm moving and it needs a new home. This is a beautiful piece but it's old and it's not perfect. The top has 2 dents(see pics) This is solid oak and oak veneer(side panels and very top) The veneer is all there but it has minor lifting in some small areas. 2 file drawers work fine. 2 pullout shelves work great. Not sure what the 6 pullout files along the top were used for. I was always going to make them into drawers but never did. Cabinet at bottom is clean and doors work great. Minor wood loss at very bottom right. No key. Overall this is a really great ... morepiece. Total height is 62.5" Base Cabinet is 33.5" high x 25" deep. Appears to have been a small repair to the wedges that the top rests on on the right side(visible in photo) Also missing one front crosspiece on the slider for the third drawer down. Functions with no problems. Each drawer has its original functioning sliding/adjustable file support on rod. All four drawers have wood handles and brass card holders. Great original detail! Up for sale is an old store seed/ bean counter. These counters were used in general stores at the turn of the century. I am not 100% sure if it was originally used as a seed counter. There are 15 drawers with glass fronts and 6 solid front drawers. The drawers look like they originally had dividers in them. The condition of the cabinet it good in age appropriate condition. There are stains as pictured on the top and sides which I think give the piece that nice old feel and look. The cabinet measures 48.5" wide( left to right) 25.5" deep( front to back) and 41" tall. Antique Register File Cabinet - One of a kind
ONE-OF-A-KIND Antique Register-File Cabinet Original metal tag says"Manufactured by McCaskey Register Co. Alliance. Ohio, U.S.A. This is an all original"register" used for filing daily transactions in metal file dividers found under the roll top cover. The file dividers are spring loaded. Push down on the back of the files and it springs up for easier access. Push it down again and it locks into place so that the roll top cover can be closed. There is a single drawer where the original fixed position wooden dividers still in place and moveable metal separators for each compartment. There is also a label that says"Put your open account here" When the drawer is removed you will find where a date of January 1928 is stamped inside the drawer space on the upper wooden drawer frame. It was used in a home dental office in ... morea house that my grandparents bought in the 1950's or 60's. The dentist using it was retiring. I do not know who he was. But the equipment was left behind and my father kept it. Many people told him to haul it to the dump but he always told me it might be worth something. He died in 2012 and left it to me, before his oldest granddaughter(my daughter) got engaged to a man the he really liked. I think he would be so happy to know that I may be able to sell it to help pay for her wedding, since he could not. So in a way, he is helping! Beautiful old letter file cabinet from an exquisite pet and smoke free estate! Stands 12" tall. 12.5" deep and 15.5" wide. the cabinet weighs about 18 pounds. There are 2 drawers with metal clamping brackets, ine is missing the thin metal rod at the very bottom or behind face plate of drawer. You can see a dark shadow of where it reads"National Cabinet" on the front. It is in lovely condition, the back of the cabinet needs tacked down in a few places. Payment is appreciated within 5 days. Here I'd had this gorgeous quarter-sawn oak cube-like drawer-cabinet, and always assumed that it didn't fit CD's, since so many of the old card files& card-catalogue drawers are too small for the standard CD case. But in measuring it for this listing. We realized that this classic antique is indeed unusually well-suited for these quintessential modern electronic storage necessities. Whether you need to store drawers full of CD's or not. This piece is a beauty. It looks like there's no veneer on this piece, and that every panel is solid through& through. And unlike most cabinets of this sort, it was made so that every one of its sides(even the bottom) is beautiful, smooth, flush& meant to be seen. The quartersawn, ... moretiger-oak panels are just exquisite, golden-oak natural colored and of a very clean, simple design. The form of this cabinet is nearly an exact cube. Measuring about 21" high, 20-1/2" wide& 20" deep(plus handles) Drawers measure inside about 5-7/8" high, 8-3/4" wide& 18-3/4" deep(at the top, the fronts taper to a thicker bottom inside) This piece is absolutely beautiful. It's in excellent condition to my eye. The back panels do have a vertical separation of a small gap. But this is just a bit of shrinkage in the solid lumber& not really a flaw, in my opinion. Otherwise just age-appropriate small scuffs here& there, but altogether an excellent, gorgeously made, solid awesome cube with excellently useful drawers, that would make a perfect end-table. Ohio this is both a great piece of history and very functional. This card catalog has all the maker stamps on both the inside and outside. Another amazing feature about this rare piece of the bottom where it is stamped"Property Air Force/United States Army. The stories this piece of history could tell! It's overall in great condition. The cabinet is exquisitely dovetailed and very solid. It does have a couple scratches/writing right where the handles are but this could probably easily be buffed out. 52" tall. 18" wide, 2.5"deep, 12" inside drawer width"letter size" Excellent original condition and finish, complete brass hardware, complete wood file divider system, complete wood slide system. This file cabinet was in use when I picked up today. Built by Shaw Walker Co. Muskegon Mi. There is small hole in back on the unfinished plywood that don't show as is against wall. Antique Wabash Cabinet Company Stacking File Cabinet Oak File Cabinet
Up for sale is a great turn of the century Wabash Cabinet Company stacking file cabinet. There are 4 pieces. a 20 drawer unit. A 3 drawer unit a cap and a base. All oak veneered with a nice aged deep patina. It is 45" high, 39 1/2" wide, 18 1/2" deep at the base and the cabinets are 15 1/4" deep. As you can see in the pictures the top has some ring marks and the side has a couple of pieces of veneer missing the bare wood has been darkened. This is in original condition with a nice rich color. One corner of the narrow drawer has been repaired and is shown in the closeup. It has normal wear and dings for a piece over 100 years old. Vintage Arts and Crafts Era.Mission style oak card or index file cabinet. This is the large 5" by 8" card file. The total measurement of the cabinet are 20-3/4" wide. 14-1/2" high by 18" deep. This was the property of the Commonwealth of Virginia as evidenced by the two property decals. The condition is very good to excellent.original finish. The case is very nice with some minor wear and a couple of very minor cigarette burns to the top. The drawers are very nice and function well. The brass pulls and holders are also nice. These pulls are true mission in the sense that the sides are not angled or tapered out at the sides but are straight up and down 90 degree vertical on the edges. Most of this style in oak pulls are sloped outward on the side corners. The dove tail drawer fronts are nice and in excellent undamaged condition. The flat shipping rate for the lower 48 is for the handles( pulls only) I will gladly give the fronts to anyone who wants them and charge an extra $9 to ship with the pulls. Antique Oak File Cabinet--Library Bureau Solemakers-Larger Single Cabinet
Antique quartersawn oak Library Bureau Solemakers file cabinet. Measuring 11.5"L x 9"H x 17.25"W. Dovetailed construction throughout with original brass hardware and name plate. The drawer will hold a larger 5 x 9" index card and it has its adjustable divider inside. I do not have the key for the mortise lock. Cabinet is a little darker then the usual"golden oak" color of the Library Bureau line. Nice big cabinet and very heavy for its size.

Antique Oak File Drawer- New England BayState Bicco Transfer Cabinet Nice old antique file drawer. The exterior dimensions are 24-1/2" long x 12-1/2" wide x 10-3/4" high. This does not include the handle which sticks out an addition 1-1/4" The actual interior drawer size is 10-1/4" x 8-1/2" This drawer would nicely hold 8" x 10" papers or cards. I am not sure if this was some time of business drawer or library drawer. The front is marked BAYSTATE TRANSFER CABINET BICCO MADE IN NEW ENGLAND.
