The cabinet was manufactured by Rockwell& Rupel of Chicago, Illinois, and I have not been able to find another example of it anywhere online-in fact, I've only been able to find two file drawer cabinets made by this company: one is a smaller tabletop model, and the other was a wider one that was auctioned by Christies of London in 2006 for several thousand dollars. So, I think it would be fair to say that this is a rare piece of furniture. Probably used in an office setting in the late 19th to early 20th century. It later spent many years in use at a hand-crafted furniture company. When purchased it still contained piles of screws and cabinet knobs! As shown, the bottom two drawers are missing. I removed them, as they had been loaded down with screws and the bottoms were very beat up. HOWEVER, I saved the FRONTS(see second photo) and they could be attached as false fronts or of course a woodworker could replace the drawers. As shown, at some point in its long history the cabinet either had two top drawers replaced with one deep drawer, or perhaps only the cabinet pull was replaced. The drawer fronts have the remnants of old taped labels as well as scratches. Carved numbers, and plenty of wear. The bottom of the cabinet has significant wear to the trim, and I removed some of the side trim that was in bad shape. The cabinet and all its remaining drawers are in good structural condition and all the drawers are clean and open and close properly. The cabinet measures 60" tall, 30&3/4" wide, and 18&1/2 inches deep. Fixing this up is entirely optional-I love its worn. Industrial look and the hand-carved dentil molding and old-fashioned brass-plated label drawer pulls. This cabinet was used in the Ornithology Department. It is in excellent condition ready for your office or home. The cabinet has two paneled doors behind which are 24 drawers of three different sizes. All of the interior dimensions of the drawers are 18.75 wide and 22.5 deep. 12 of the drawers are 3.0 high. 8 of the drawers are 3.5 high. 4 of the drawers are 4.5 high. The overall size of the case is 51 wide, 65.25 high, and 28.0 deep. For your consideration is this beautiful antique oak quartersawn file cabinet. The person I bought this from told me that this was the condition he bought it in from a Savings and Loan bank that had gone out of business in southern Ohio. As you can see from the photos the file is in great condition. It has a nice golden oak finish that really shows off the tiger graining in the oak. The cabinets overall dimensions are 52" high X 27 1/4" deep X 14 3/4" wide. The inside of the drawers measure 12" wide X 10 1/4" high X 25" deep. The only thing I see wrong with it is one of the drawers has the bracket missing on the bottom which holds the adjustable wood slide vertical. It is ready for use in your home or office. This is a very nice Wies Cabinet Co. two drawer solid quarter sawn Oak Card Cabinet. It is in excellent condition. Has been refinished. The old finish was worn and it was removed and sprayed with a Lacquer finish. There are no water marks or stains. No scratches or broken pieces. The size is 15 1/2 by 15 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches high. The two drawers will fit a card 6 inches wide 4 1/2 inches high. The drawer is 13 inches long. Both card locking slides are present and good. I have had several of these over the years. 1917 Antique Metal File Cabinet Circa. 1917 Industrial Steampunk Awesome!
Inside of the drawers are Dated 1917. Offering this Industrial metal file cabinet with two extra sets of drawers(double) The bottom is all one piece. I took several photos of different times and different light because there has been no way I can capture this cabinet's true beauty in it's old mustard paint. I believe the cabinet to be in good condition with it's original finish showing it's crackles and wear only in my opinion adding to it's true age and character. The two top units each measure approx. 13 7/8" wide x 5 1/2" tall x 19" deep(measuring from front to back long wise) The larger part of the file cabinet measures approx. 32 7/8" wide x 17" tall x 19" deep. Antique Quarter Sawn Oak 4 Drawer Index Card File Cabinet Offered today for your review is a Great 4 drawer antique oak file cabinet. Made by the Library Bureau Sole Makers Company. This is crafted of quarter sawn Oak and is in good condition considering its age…beautiful wood grain patterns. And high quality dovetailed construction as seen in the photos. The drawers hold 3" by 5" index cards or photos. The file has original brass pulls, and the manufacturers emblem is brass as well that reads: Library Bureau Sole Makers. The Outer measurements are: 13 1/8” Wide x 17 3/8” Deep x 8 3/4” High. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. As the cabinet is very clean and ready to serve you for another 100+ years! This File Cabinet is deserving of a place in any fine home or office. Please ask questions. They are always welcomed and encouraged ... moreprior to bidding. This is a very old piece of furniture and it is not perfect. But it is an antique piece and I am sure has an amazing history. It does have a lot scratches and scuffs and there is a white mark on the left side of it. Then on top of the piece one side is darker. The back of the piece there is a pretty big deep scratch. The four drawers do not have the same color, I am not for sure if it is different wood or just a different finish, but they are not the same color. The joints might not be as tight as they once were, but once again this is a very old piece. I would consider this piece to be very clean. The bottom is not as smooth finished as the rest of the cabinet and it is full of scratches and dings. Some type of oil or finish has been applied to it and the inside of the box and the bottom of the drawers does not have the oil applied to it. I have made a video at the bottom of the page so you can see how the drawers open and close. Also two of the four drawers has a small hole on the front of them and they all have scratches and dings.

This auction features an antique dovetailed oak library index card file. This gem measures 16 x 14 x 10 ¼ inches and has 4 sliding drawers. Each drawer measures 14 ¾ inches in depth. 6 inches outside measurement, and the inside measurement for the file is 5 inches wide. This piece retains the original finish with just a few areas with light damage from use. Mostly a few small scratches on the top. This piece is unmarked as to the manufacturer, but similar to the Globe Wernicke or Macey models I have seen in the past. The bottom retains the original felt. The bag I found them in stated that they were off of an"antique" filing cabinet. These are rather chippy and primitive and do show lots of wear. They were nailed from the back onto the face of the drawer. They measure approx. 7- 7-1/4" in length and the top one is a hair shorter than the other two. Antique quarter sawn oak file cabinet. From(Mfg.by The Automatic File& Index Co. Green Bay Ws. 1914. Very nice original finish and in very good condition. This unusual file cabinet has a top file which is opened by lifting the lid which allows the front to automatically go forward for access. This compartment has the original paper holder and measures 12 wide, 20 deep, and 7.5 high. The middle is two file card holders. The bottom is a standard file cabinet drawer with paper holder and measures 12.0 wide, 19 deep and 10.5 high. Note the nice quarter sawn oak and the original brass pulls and label holders. Paneled sides and back and all finished. two drawers in middle has crack in each one. Left has repair. Bottom left front has veneer chip. But you can see it was restored if you look closely. Overall Very Good condition with normal signs of age and use. Most drawers have the original paper labels inside. The knobs turn and rotate metal rods that run down the inside of the drawers, and it appears to lock the cards in place or make them loose, depending on how it is turned-an interesting and unusual feature. The chest measures approximately 44 inches wide, 39 inches tall, and 32 1/2 inches deep. There are 6 drawers, each measuring approximately 41 1/2 inches wide, 5 inches tall, and 32 inches deep. I am not sure what wood was used to make this- the wood has what I would call a walnut or mahogany hue to it on the outside surfaces, which have been stained sometime in the past. I have no idea what these 4 drawers are used for. What I do know is that they are antique. Probably mahagony? fronted drawars with tapered backs with heavy brass hardware(some brass is missing, see pix) If you know what type of furniture these go to please let me know! maybe they were designed to go in a cabinet and then be hung vertically on a wall when filled with something? The drawers are numbered 164. 165, 166, and 168 and measure just under 4 5/8" wide, by just under 3/4" tall by 9 3/4" long. Purpose aside. These are very interesting drawers!

For sale is a hard to find antique Library Bureau Sole Makers 4 drawer oak fling cabinet in superb functioning condition. Circa 1900. The front and four panel sides and back are nearly flawless. All drawers work perfectly and each has the. Often lost, file pushers. In addition, each drawer has the original brass pull and file card holder. The cabinet is made from solid quarter sawn oak. The piece is"signed" with the original Library Bureau Sole Makers nameplate which appears on the front of the cabinet underneath the bottom of the first drawer. Also, a sticker indicating all of the patents held by Library Bureau applicable to cabinet is still clearly visible on one of the file pushers. Antique 1896 Amberg 3 Drawer Oak Cabinet Letter File +Interesting Finds Inside
Antique Rare Amberg Quarter Sawn Oak 3 Drawer Index Letter File Cabinet 1896 Offered today for your review is a Hard to Find Amberg 3 drawer antique oak letter file cabinet. Based on the information inside this was crafted around 1896 by Amberg File Index Co. which had Companies in NY. Chicago and London. It has many patent dates marked on all 3 drawers. Which are noted from Sept 1878 with the last one being Aug 1896. This particular cabinet model is labeled as: Amberg’s Imperial Letter File” This is crafted of quarter sawn Oak and is in extraordinary condition considering its age…beautiful"tiger oak" wood grain patterns. And high quality dovetailed construction on the drawers as seen in the photos. Please note: Photo#6 shows the tiger oak wood grain and is Not a blemish to the left side. The cabinet measurements are: 14-1/2” Long ... morex 12-1/4” Wide x 13” High. The 3 Drawers hold standard letter size documents with an inside measurement of: 12-3/8” Long x 10-5/8” Deep. Each drawer has a small slits cut into the top center to slide in a drawer identification label. There are 4 holes shown at the back panel where this was hung on a wall at some point but was designed primarily as a desktop/ countertop cabinet. Also at the rear of the cabinet there is a split in the wood at the top. This is hardly noticeable and had been repaired years ago. But is very strong, does not take away from the piece and it holds all it’s integrity. There are a few minor scuffs and smudges commensurate with age but it doesn’t take away from the cabinet and I needed to mention for accuracy. Interestingly. In the bottom drawer I found an index file folder(A-Z, Jan-Dec) and in one of the folders I found a E.R.B News Letter(Emergency Relief Bureau) out of NY City dated March 1935, Vol 1 No 1, a Amberg re-order index card and a US Postal Registered Mail Receipt Dated May of 1912! Set of 6 Vintage Steel File Cabinet Label Holders, 5 in,Green paint, old antique
This is a set of 6 old file label holders from a file cabinet. These antique label holders are green painted steel. Each label holder is 5 1/8 inches x 2 1/4 inches and holds a 4 1/2 in x 1 7/8 in label. Some of the paint has worn away. One has more paint missing than the rest. There is some rust where the paint is missing. They are not completely flat. Though they should be fine when tacked onto a piece of wood.

The Cabinet measures approx. 30 1/2 inch tall. 28 inches long, and about 15 inches wide. The drawers slide easily. The exterior wood has normal age nicks. Scrapes and scratches, but nothing terrible. The top has several marks from putting things on it over the years. You can see some shading on the color of the wood finish on the backside. Looks to me like it might have been from the sun light hitting part of it. I don't know the type of wood but it looks clear. It's a very good looking piece of old office furniture. ANTIQUE/ VINTAGE TWO DRAWER WITH A DOOR INDEX/ FILE CABINET- TIGER OAK* Up for sale is this nice two door/ one door index card file cabinet. This is a nice quality wooden cabinet and it's made from tiger oak with brass handles. It's a deep rich red stain color and parts of it have faded or something and they are a greenish color. The cabinet is in good shape for it's age and has a few nicks. Dings or scrapes on it as you can see in the pictures. There is a noticeable color difference in the wood on the left drawers and the door on the right side. The drawers are dovetail mortised along the sides as you can see in the pictures. The drawers have metal card slides in them. It has worn spots. Edge wear, scratches and nicks as you'd expect from and item of this age. It's old but we're not sure how old. The cabinet measures ... more19" W x 16" W x 14" H. The door on the right side measures 4.5" W x 11.5" H x 17.5" D. The inside of the drawers will hold a 5" x 8" card horizontally.
