Nice antique-turn of the century-curio cabinet Etagere-I believe the wood is walnut-beautiful warm tone patina-all original finish. Great dolphin design on the top center. The four original beveled glass mirrors are 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" Cabinet itself is 35" x 13" x 66 1/2" tall to the very back top. Very nice details. Missing the door that would have been on the front center(note hinge still attached) and one shelf that would have been in that inside area. A beautiful vintage diplay piece for your treasures. Antique Victorian clock case/curio cabinet
Offered for auction is this super nice old clock case that has been adapted for use as a curio cabinet. Small slats of wood have been nail into the interior sides and glass shelves installed that sit on the wood slats. Six glass shelves are included. also. The interior has been fitted with contact paper to better show up what you are displaying oh the glass shelves. Can be removed easily. The top piece of glass is missing. Bottom glass pieces are beveled. Nice pediment with carved design and the case still has the brass plate on the bottom of the door to mark the pendulum swing. also, two screw adjustments on the bottom to level the case against the wall. Not sure of the wood species but is very light colored, little grain and appears to be poplar or gum wood. Probably has a nice soft stain on it and has a honey color. Heavy. Co. of Two Rivers Wisconsin. New Departure is the model name of this printers drawer. All of the preceeding information has been carefully embossed into the wood on the front of this tray. Original drawer pull has been cleaned and refurbished. Hangers added to the back side for your convenience. This tray arrives to you ready to hang. These trays were originally lined with paper beneath the dividers. The paper almost always turns black from the lead. Ink and graphite used in the printing process. The paper has been cut away and removed from each section prior to cleaning and disinfecting the tray. Each solid brass divider support has been hand buffed to expose the brilliant shine of the brass and tiny brass nails used at each juncture. It is being sold including the shelving and mirrors etc. but not the items displayed. They are in the pictures to give you a perspective of how large the cabinet is and how much it can hold. The cabinet is 13" deep and 14.5" deep with the doors added measurements on the outside. It is 42.5" wide. I painted the rest of the interior a French antique turquoise. The outside of the cabinet came Chinese Red. There are 2 lights in the very top of the cabinet(see picture) and one light under the next to bottom shelf. There are 4 shelves,the top 2 are glass and the lower 2 are wood. The top shelf has a height of 21" the second shelf down has a height of 15" the 3rd shelf down has a height of 16" and the bottom shelf height is 20" The cabinet is 83" tall.There are mounting holes in the sides so the top 2 shelves can be adjusted. The only reason I'm selling it is because we're moving soon. Definitely European made. Most likely either German, Dutch or Belgian from the style. I'd say it's from the late 1800's to the early 1900's and the carvings of roses and other flowers are just fantastic! Very heavy piece of furniture. But the bottom is separate from the glass case curio on top and all three marble pieces come off as well. Wonderful beveled corners. Great esthetic details. Also has mirrored ... morebacks to the center and top pieces. Overall condition is good for its age with some minor wear like scuffs and a small crack in one door(see picture) that needs to be clamped and glued. We can't open the door on the right.we have a key but it's stuck somehow and we're not handy. Inside the side door is an English style adjustment system for shelves(no shelves included) Large center cupboard. Small drawer with Victorian hardware. Paneled side panels, really sturdy construction. Pink veined marble seems original to the piece. But the previous owner broke the center one and glued it and them applied varnish- a bit crackled. It looks like over the years someone has altered the top: the top itself seems original. But the sliding glass doors and metal trim on the front, As well as the slightly less delicate beveled side trim seem to be later addition- perhaps from the 50's or so? Hand built with carved accents of dragons in multiple areas and a hinged carved Lotus flower header. 2 drawers which each have 2 Mother of Pearl inlay designs. There's a tray that extends from just above the drawers to display additional items. Exceptional detail in the top section of the cabinet which can be seen in image#7. I couldn't get a true translation of the Chinese script from the previ ous owner but he exp lained it to me an something like this. This lot is an outstanding piece from the Victorian era. It is an 1800s dark oak China/curio cabinet with claw feet and casters. This piece has ornate decorative columns and the back is emblazoned with the place of original purchase J. J. Davis Rugs And Carpets in Seaman. Ohio. All of this can be seen clearly in the photos. The piece is in very good condition with the only issues being the small bits of damage to the upper wood covering. These were present when I purchased the piece. Being on the top they are not particularly visible or detracting but they are there. I believe the photo shows them sufficiently for you to get an accurate depiction. Antique Oak Bow Front China Curio Display Cabinet 4 Shelves
Very nice antique bow front china cabinet. It is made of oak and has 4 shelves. It is in good condition with some imperfections-it has a small hole that was cut out of the back and patched with veneer-you can't see it from the front as the bottom shelf is right in front of it. There is a slight separation of the wood on the top as seen in picture. The side pieces are glass; however. The door has a piece of Lexan in it-this was placed because curved glass is very expensive. Lexan is a very tough polycarbonate that is barely distinguishable from glass-you really cannot tell the difference when you look at it. I was told it is easy to take care of but not to use paper towels or ammonia on it. Of course, you could always replace it with glass if you didn't like it. It has a key, but it doesn't lock. Overall, these imperfections are ... morenot that noticeable-I just like to be up front and point everything out. It is extremely STABLE and HEAVY DUTY weighing in at 5.7 pounds! It is 22" high(inc. the chimney) x 19" at the widest. The biggest flaw is that it appears to have white spray paint on the top.
