Antique Tin Advertising Tea Coffee Store Counter Dispenser Chicago 1800's-Rare!!
Offered for you consideration is this Rare& unusual General Store Country Display cabinet. This is a very old retail sales counter dispenser tin for various typeds of Tea blends such as Gunpowder. Imperial, Hyson, Japan and Oolong. Usually one would see a tin display like this in individual containers. This piece has 5 partisioned bins that held the Tea inventory all on one area of the counter for tea buyers. Hand Painted& screened decorations on the front are of various portraits and animals. Also on each side there is a company name& type of"Caddy name" of the maker. So far we have made out the one side to say F. Sturges, Chicago. The other side we can just read the word"Caddy" Each of the 5 dispenser doors has the tea name and a porcelain knob. Dimensions are 36 1/2" Wide x 26 1/2" Deep by 19" ... moretall. This tin is complete with very clean particians on the inside where the tea was stored in leaf form. The outside paint is worn and there are dents and scratches all around. But the tin still displays very nicely on a counter. And needs a restorers touch to enhance the beauty that is still there on this Victorian Treasure. Overall it is very clean and remarkably rust free. It has numerous age appropriate cosmetic flaws including small dents, paint flakes and scratches. Antique Weis 6 Drawer Wooden Flat File Cabinet Desk Counter Top Document
Circa 1910 Weis document file cabinet for a desk or countertop. Has it's original mahogany finish(though I think the wood is actually birch) By this time in our country's manufacturing age cabinet woods were starting to get pricey. Furniture manufacturers were starting to use veneers and stains to simulate more expensive solid wood. The start of the Industrial Age to 1910 saw the diminishment of our great forrest stands of timber. This cabinet boasts it's original label on the top as well as original file drawer pulls. The drawers fronts have light finish loss. Please use the magnify feature to see this. Luckily none of the previous owners used any type of permanent paper in the file slots inside the drawer pulls. The inside bottom of all of the drawers have a hole so that legal documents could be stored that took up all of the ... moredrawers interior volume. You would pull the drawer open and insert your finger underneath and up through the hole to lift the pile of documents so that you just slide off the amount that you needed without wrinkling the documents. This cabinet measures 10 1/2" tall. 9 13/16" wide and 15 7/8" deep including the drawer pulls. The drawers measure 1" deep, 8 5/8" wide and 14 1/4" deep. The drawer measurements are the usable interior dimensions. The drawers are for the most part are very clean with just one of them having a small amount of dry residue. The drawers do not have any odor. The exterior of the cabinet is of fingerjoint construction with the inerior drawers being nailed. The exterior joints are very solid. The cabinet has various light scratches and some pinpoint paint drips. The top has a very small area of finish loss. The sides near the front of the cabinet have some slight finish loss as well. Facing the cabinet, it's right side has some finish loss along the bottom edge. This same side has a tight crack about 1 1/2" long coming up from the bottom. it is not very noticeable. Vintage Antique Collectable Industrial Factory Fire Door Weight Counter Balance
Very rare and hard to find. Terrific shape. This is the real deal! Very heavy for its size. This will show well. When was the last time you seen one like this? This is what was used by the industrail factories in the early 1900's for fire control. This was attached to a large metal door. If there was a fire. Antique Hoosier Style Kitchen Cupboard Cabinet Copper Counter Slag Glass Doors
Vintage Hoosier Style Kitchen Cupboard Cabinet w/Copper& Slag Glass Doors This is a gorgeous old kitchen'Hoosier style' cupboard. It has the base. The hutch and a beautiful copper topped counter that does indeed pull out on the base. The top hutch has three doors on the top part with leaded Slag Glass in green and white milk-glass. These appear to have been added to the doors some time ago when this piece appears to have been refinished. The lower part of the upper hutch have two larger wooden doors. The outside of the right door appears to have sustained surface water damage to it some time ago. The bottom base part has one large latching door on the left side that reveals a metal lined storage bin with one wire rack making a shelf in it. The right side has three drawers where the twop two right side drawers are in wood and the ... morebottom right drawer is lined in tin/metal. The counter is simply beautiful. The counter was resurfaced in a solid sheet of copper sometime ago when the entire piece was lightly refinished. The copper counter has a nice protective coat of varnish or poly on it as does the entire piece. The sheen is in a nice soft gloss. Not a shreakingly heavy gloss that makes one put on sunglasses just to look at it. This piece is on metal casters with wood wheels and is easy to move if needed. The drawer pulls appear to be original to the piece. However some of the upper hardware appears to have either been moved during the restoration or have been replaced. All the hardware appears to be correct for the piece, I just can not swear it is all orginal to the piece. The family reports that they just remember this piece being as it has always been so the restoration work done on this piece was done at least more than 40-50 years ago. If I were to keep this for my very own. I would be proud to display it in my own kitchen and show it as my own. Take that for what it is worth. I will gladly entertain reasonable offers. Up for sale we have a lovely Antique Beveled Glass Store Display Mirror. This is a very well constructed item made to be used for checking out ones item before purchasing. The mirror is in excellant condition with all its parts and decoration in very fine shape. The mirror has a beveled glass edge within the frame. That is 1/2" wide all the way around. The mirror in its stand measures 23" wide by 17 1/2" tall by 6" in dia at the rounded bases. The mirror in its frame only measures 15 3/4" wide by 11 3/4" tall. The mirror by itself is in good shape. With no chips or cracks. However it does need some re-silvering. Due to its being an Antique it would be fine to use as it is, showing its true age. However we mention for accuracy in listing. Antique Hotel/Mercantile Counter Top Bell W/Abalone Shell Base! Circa 1920
Offering this unique hotel/mercantile counter bell with a nice nickel plated iron bell. The base is a large solid piece of hand carved abalone shell. This has a neat gear driven"spinner" type ringing mechanism. You turn the knob on the top and the bell rings loud and clear. I disassembled the bell and oiled the gears and this bell works good. There is light surface rust but the gears turn smoothly. The former owner is 90 years old and told me this came out of a hotel in Hawaii during WW2.was brought back with a relative and given to him as a present. He has collected bells all of his life and this was one of his favorites. The base is about 4" wide and the bell stands about 3" tall. Moderate wear to the nickel plating on the bell itself. Eight inches in diameter. There is a black and gold Trifari sign with the crown that is attached to the base of the stands. The signs are plastic. The metal is a nice goldtone with a little vintage wear. The taller display measures 9 1/2 inches tall from the highest wheel and 6 inches tall from the bottom wheel. Antique Dark Oak Counter Display Case
This is a very nice oak counter display case with glass on all three sides with a wood bottom. The wood is in great shape for its age. Dimensions: 36" long by 25" wide by 16.5" tall- lots of room! It has two sliding glass and wooden framed doors with brass inserts for pulls. Doors move back and forth easily. Slick as butter. The top glass was severely scratched so it has been replaced(professionally) with tempered glass. I am selling the case for $650- OBO. VINTAGE ANTIQUE SYRUP BARREL, KEG, DRUGSTORE COUNTER DISPLAY
For sale is an Antique Syrup Barrel used by a Drugstore for a counter dispencer for dispencing syrup probably root beer. It is 10 1/4" high and 7" dia. at the largest portion of the barrel. It is in very good condition and has a rubber seal at the opening to hold a dispencer. It is clean inside. I will attempt to tell you what the bottom says trying to read the fancy letters. 2 Antique Rowntrees Gums~Art Nouveau Glass Candy Store Counter Jars & Lids!
I could have sold these early 1900's Candy Store Counter display jars seperate. But the have been together for so long I'am listing them in one sale with no reserve! Each hand blown glass jar measures 5 1/2" base dia x 12" total ht including the lid. The tin lids are embossed with a great looking Art Nouveau/ Art Deco design and the sides are punched with the name"Rowntrees Gums" on the front& back side. Since the display jars are hand blown one jar weighs 2.1 lbs and the other one is over a pound heavier weighing 3.3 lbs. Both are still in ex condition however one jar has two nicks on the inside edge of the top rim( see last two pics) Both nicks are well concealed when the lid is firmly in place.

This was used as the postal counter. There is a one large and sturdy drawer with the original pulls. It once held two drawers. The smaller one has been removed to allow for chair space. This is made mixed woods of oak. Maple, pine and poplar. The top is tongue and groove maple and the sides and back are beaded tongue and groove. The counter has been cut down fromits original size. It was removed from a Hanover County Virginia estate. It measures 26-3/4" tall x 14-1/8" wide x 6" deep. Made in the early 20th century. It features a darkened and worn dovetailed case, a single door with a reverse beveled panel, the original brass hinges and knob/latch on the door, a clean interior with four shelves that have from 3-3/4" 9" clearance between them, and a back with two holes for easy hanging. This is a primitive cupboard. But aside from general wear remains in very good condition. The lock is missing, thus the hole just below the latch. Antique Biscuit Bin Cracker & Cookies Box With Hinged Glass Lid Counter Display
This cardboard box held peanut butter sandwich cookies made by the Independent Baking Company. It comes with a metal and glass lid labeled with embossed lettering"Protection Brand Biscuits. I believe these were used by retailers to display their product on the store's counter. The lid is hinged for easy access. The patent date on the lid is April 16. 1924 and marked Tindeco underneath. Both box and lid are in good condition with no breaks or cracks to the lid and just minor damage to one corner of the box. On the bottom of the box there is a stamp that reads For Victory Buy United States War Bonds And Stamps with the image of a soldier. It is pretty amazing to me that these have held up so well over the years, especially the box. It measures 10 1/4" x 10 1/4" x 8" high with the lid on. Up for bid is the vintage/antique CAST IRON COUNTER PLATFORM"UNION SCALE" with Single NICKEL PLATED BRASS BEAM. Tin Pan(damaged, see pics) and(3) WEIGHTS(plus weight holder/hook-pendulum) as seen in the pictures/ as described in the title. From my research, I believe this scale was made by either Fairbanks Co. or Gurneys and could date back as far as the late 1800's.but my best guess would be right around the late 1920's or early 1930's. I searched high and low, from above and under.I see no visible maker's marks. I do see some VERY faint evidence of handpainted text/designs at the sides of the platform BUT they are completely illegible.
