We are offering this amazing country cabinet with original grain paint that was done in imitation of flame grain mahogany. Wealthy people bought furniture made of fancy woods and country folk bought painted furniture made to look like fine woods but were made of poplar and pine. American furniture with original painted surfaces are coveted by collectors. This is one of the finest examples of Americana I have ever seen. The cabinet is original with no repairs or replacements. The classic canted corners help display how beautiful the patina is on this old cabinet. The door to the inside is paneled and is chamfered on the inside. There are several shelves. Height to the top = 42" Width across the front = 24 3/4" Depth is 19" in the middle and 20 1/2" on each rear side. Canted corners are 4" each. Area under front of cabinet is 1 3/4" This corner cabinet as always beena corner cabinet and built as such versus being a hanging corner cabinet made from the top of a standing cabinet. It is in very good and ready to hang condition. There have been a repairs on this cabinet.some older than others.the very top left piece of molding has been replaced as well as the molding on the base on the left. The bottom doors have punched tins panels ... morefor a unique look. I have owned this one for a long time and we did change a couple things. The crown molding at the top is a replacement. My son used the big cupboard as an entertainment center and removed the center shelf in the top. The interior is painted white and the middle drawer is original and functions well. Made with square nails and is a really great old piece that you just can not find anymore. Measures 82" tall by 47" wide by 33.5" deep and when you measure it from the corner of your room out to either side it is 36.5" at the crown and 34.5" at the case area. We have to ship this item through a freight company so the shipping below is an estimate. It might run $130- $275 to ship from middle IL to you. Primitive antique vintage 1870s pine farmhouse kitchen corner cabinet cupboard
A grand. Large and old primitive kitchen corner cabinet. Made from pine, with some decorative(burl? wood insets. My guess is that it dates to about 1860 to 1870. Hard to tell too much about it since it has been painted, rather recently, in white latex. I have started to peel this off, which is why it looks so weird in the photos! It is heavy, and solid. There are 3 sections: a bottom section, with solid doors, a middle section with glass doors, and a top section, also with glass doors. There is also a deep drawer at the bottom. At the moment it is in the back of my garage. And I cannot get close to it to take better pics, but I will haul it out soon and post more pics. ANTIQUE GERMAN PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH PINE CORNER CUPBOARD CABINET
Here is another terrific find from one of my newest consignor's- a delightful family piece inherited from his great-grandmother on the Tulp side of the family originally and his mother most recently. an early to mid-nineteenth century pine corner cabinet from the Pennsylvania Dutch country area of Pennsylvania where his ancestors settled and lived from the early 1800's through the 1930's. This is a solid. Well constructed five board back antique corner cabinet with pegged construction and old nails, and I've included a number of photographs in addition to my detailed description of condition above in an attempt to accurately represent the age, construction, condition, design, quality and overall beauty of this terrific old cabinet. This wonderful corner cabinet stands 73 inches tall and measures 46 inches across at it's ... morewidest point. Outside edge to outside edge.It measured 21 inches deep from the center front straight back into the corner and 27 inches on each side, as in the length along the wall on each side. The interior of the top cabinet measures 39 inches across at it's widest point and has one of two fixed shelves still in place running the width of the cabinet with 15 1/2 inches clearance above the shelf and 16 inches depth back into the corner from the front of that shelf. The space below has a height of 23 inches clearance, also 16 inches deep straight back into the corner and an opening of 28 1/2 inches with the top cupboard door open. Again, as noted by my consignor- he removed the other shelf as the lower of these two spaces is now"perfect" to house a 32 inch flat screen TV as he did. The lower cabinet, also 39 inches across at it's widest point has one fixed shelf 16 inches deep front to back and dividing the 26 1/2 inches in height in two with 12 inches clearance above the shelf and 13 1/2 inches clearance above the base of the cabinet below the shelf. Not sure of age either but definitely old, could possibly be 19th century. Very nicely constructed and has three hooks on back and can be hung in a corner low enough for a child to use. THIS IS NOT FREE STANDING ~ must be hung in a corner to stay upright. The glass in the door is wavy and seems very old. It has a patch of scratches in the center that possibly could be buffed out; it seems like someone was too rough cleaning it with something abrasive, not terrible but mentioned for accuracy. The knob is some sort of white bone attached with a screw. This is heavily crazed but still good. Hinges ... moreon door work fine. Vintage antique victorian hutch sideboard kitchen corner cabinet cupboard 1850s?
A grand. Large and old Victorian kitchen corner cabinet. I don't know what the wood is, it could be, as an eBayer noted, cherry. At first I just assumed it was pine, but I think it is too heavy for that. There are some decorative(walnut burl? wood insets. My guess is that it dates to about 1850 to 1875. Hard to tell too much about it since it has been painted, rather recently, in white latex. I have started to peel this off, which is why it looks so weird in the photos! It is heavy, and solid. There are 4 sections: a bottom section with a deep drawer, a section with solid doors, a middle section with glass doors, and a top section, also with glass doors. The dimensions are 94" H x 48" W x 30" across the sides. Which makes it about 2" deep. The top 2 sets of doors are 24" H, and the lower one is 19" The photos ... moreform part of the description. Up for consideration is an Antique Louis XV Country French Corner Whatnot. It measures 61 1/2 inches tall by 17 inches deep and 19 1/2 inches is the length from the corner to the outer edge. The piece is hand carved and looks to be a light fruitwood. It has a drawer and 3 shelves. The back shelving just slots into the corner table. It dates from about 1850. Shipping will be FedEx. We have owned this old Cupboard for over thirty years. And have enjoyed having it every day. No matter what corner you hang it in, the whole room will come alive(not difficult to hang) We moved it twice- first time, from our Victorian Home, and second time to a newer home. Both times, Cupboard(triangular shape) fit perfectly in the corner of the room(should fit all standard rooms) We purchased at an Estate Sale in Sewickley, PA decades ago, and I can still remember the owner(quite old) not wanting to part with it. She had fallen in love with the delicate hues of the Milk Paint, which is a pinkish-gray on the front and a different color(bluish-gray) inside the cabinet. I feel the same today. It is very hard to describe these shades of pink-blue-gray, and the photos have not quite captured it. But that is the mystery of old Milk Paint, which ... morewas also made by hand. This beautiful cabinet was hand crafted in England of solid mahogany with delicate inlaid satinwood stringing or banding. The door panel is a single wide plank of figured mahogany.
