antique corner cabinet very old but needs work or use as is. No door latch
This was used for a very long time by my mother as an entertainment center with the components inside and a flat screen on top. The doors were always opened and they don't stay shut by themselves anyway. I used a piece of tape to hold them shut for the photo. What is obvious now is that the two inserts in one door have been removed and installed back with the bevels out when they were supposed to be inside and flat side out. So the right side door looking at it from the front has the bevels out. The right door is gapped at the bottom and looks like an old repair where a stiffener was screwed to it at one time. I would guess the frame was taken apart& reglued with the panels installed inside out at that time and the glue artist didn't notice. There is a shelf missing and the one board on the back was sawn at the shelf line and ... moreleft to swivel at the top to get the wiring accessed to the DVD players& whatnot. It is a neat piece with potential or ignore the backwards panels and use it like it is. Starting it at less than a Wally World pressboard piece and it will last your lifetime and mine as well. I am offering without reserve a very nice. Antique custom made, solid hardwood corner china cabinet/cupboard. This corner piece was taken from an old home in Eastland, Texas. The cabinet retains the original white paint on the exterior and blue paint on the interior. The upper portion of the cabinet has a single glazed door that swings to the right. The framework for the glass is arched and divided into 18 old wavy glass panes. The lower part of the cabinet has two blind doors. The wood pulls and brass hinges are original to the cupboard and all are in excellent condition. The top section and the lower section are fitted with stationery shelves. This cabinet was built in the old home and there is a notch about 6" from the bottom on each side that allowed the wide baseboard to join the cabinet. I was told it was made for a Bohemian wedding present for the bride and groom and it was a old world custom. The applied flowers. Grapes and leaves are made out of pressed leather and tacked on with iron square tacks. The cabinet is marked on the door with a note that I can not make out, but is dated 1849. This is a wonderful piece. I Purchased it 15 years ago from a Downtown Charleston Home renovation. Solid oak. Stands approximately 28.25" tall. Depth is almost 12" Which is the minimal amount of corner clearing you need. Door swings by two hinges and will open all the way to a wall. The door is 19" x 13" It can be hanged either way where door opens to the left or to the right. The interior shelves are approximately 10.25" deep from back corner to the inside of closed door. Three stacked shelves are 6.75" 6" and 5.75" Interior paint is chipping and has some discoloration. The oak exterior is in good condition. The keyhole and knob look like they could be copper due to the patina. There are two places missing the wood beading. Very nice shabby corner medicine cabinet. The cabinet has been painted and used over the years- I have not washed away or altered the patina. The last coat of paint is black- it looks like a taupe like or off-white color underneath where it's scratched. The hardware is really neat and works. For your consideration. A gorgeous antique corner cupboard. With raised panel door, and antique brass hardware. A beautiful antique. In as-found condition, ready for you to put in your home! I believe this cupboard to be made of pine. It is 28.5” high. 14.5” deep, and 28.25” wide at the widest point(the top corners) The back of the cupboard is open. So your gorgeous wall color will show through. The two interior shelves are painted white. The outside of the cupboard is natural with protective coat on it. The patina on this is just lovely. There is some wear to the bottom left corner. And the back piece is a bit separated from the main piece(see pictures) Some extra nails/screws and general tightening up will address these issues. This is a late 19th to early 20th C hanging corner cabinet. Handmade from black walnut. Now with old dry white paint. Convex curved board and baton style door. The cabinet measures 20.25" high, 17.25" wide, 10" depth at door center, and each side projects 12.25" There is one shelf. I inset five brass screws to strengthen the cabinet(3 in back, 1 under the bottom, and 1 under the top) and the cabinet functions well. The key is missing and the door is held by an old turn button. There are losses to the top and bottom trim. Additionally, the cabinet had been used in a stable for a very long time and there is appropriate wear to to the wood and surfaces. A fabulous find is this antique solid quartersawn and straight sawn oak cabinet with handsome designs of inlay on the door and around the drawers. Two of the three doors are false. However, the drawer area encompasses the entire area under the main cabinet and the bottom. The door has a fantastic inlaid shell design. The classic canted corners help display how beautiful the patina is on this old cabinet. The door to the inside is paneled and is chamfered on the inside. There are several shelves. Height to the top = 42" Width across the front = 24 3/4" Depth is 19" in the middle and 20 1/2" on each rear side. Canted corners are 4" each. Area under front of cabinet is 1 3/4" This corner cabinet as always beena corner cabinet and built as such versus being a hanging corner cabinet made from the top of a standing ... morecabinet. It is in very good and ready to hang condition. There have been a repairs on this cabinet.some older than others.the very top left piece of molding has been replaced as well as the molding on the base on the left. The middle knob is not original and the shell has had a few additions due to a very small amount of inlay loss. Quality and time tested craftsmanship helps make this cabinet sweet. Wonderful antique Pennsylvania Country Federal corner cabinet or cupboard. This cabinet is in two pieces with an upper cabinet crowned by a molded cornice and a door with twelve glazed panes. The interior of the upper cabinet has been painted a lovely soft turquoise blue and has four shelves. Each with ridges to allow for upright display of plates, bowls and platters. The lower section of the cabinet features a single drawer with wooden knobs and a diamond-shaped brass key surround. Below that are two paneled wooden doors with brass knobs, enclosing a two-shelf storage area. The apron has been fret carved in a decorative scalloped design. The entire cabinet is made from poplar wood and has a beautiful finish that shows signs of age but is probably not original to the piece. This cupboard likely dates from the early 1800's. Overall this ... morepiece is in good antique condition. However there is a small missing piece of molding near the top. Please examine the pictures provided.
