The broken-arch pediment is striking and unusual. The thin arms lifting from the molded top in a cresting wave, curling into fine inlaid pinwheel rosettes; these opposing waves of the pediment flank a fine inlaid pointed urn finial raised on a plinth base of conforming inlay. The arched door is crafted with through-tenon joinery, the fragile corners supported with butterfly dovetails on the inside(possibly later) it features twelve glazed panels framed in scratched-bead walnut astragals, opening on original hinges to reveal a shelved interior. Each shelf is channeled to display plates and platters, the front edge of each shelf molded, one shelf crafted to hold utensils in the front edge. The case has outstanding proportions. Antique Hanging Corner Cupboard Cabinet Blue Paint Mirror Primitive SE PA to start a new paragraph use- This is a charming old"make do" fancy piece out of Southeastern Pennsylvania. It's a heavy piece and the frame looks to be constructed out of second hand hard wood crating boards; the boards are 3/4" thick. There is old paint on it. Looks to be several coats of paint on the front from over the years, none of them new. There is plaster molding trim framing the outside edges of the front and framing the door opening. That's what makes it a"fancy" make do piece) This piece is solid and sturdy. There is light chipping of the paint on the front exposing some of the plaster in the molding. And overall age to the painted surface, the door closes easily but there is a slight gap at the top, there are also some gaps ... morein the boards. The mirror is old and has some losses on the back, but all are small and it's perfect with this piece. The mirrored glass is beveled on one side only opposite the door handle and was probably taken from an old mirror. I'd never replace it. Fancy metal pull that was also painted over at some point. These type pieces are getting very hard to find and this came up in a small shop here in PA. It's a one of a kind. This is not a typical offering from us, but I just couldn't resist it. And it's been confirmed as fabulous from all the"ooooh and ahhhh" comments since I brought it home, even from members of my household who arent' into antiques so much. The unboxed weight is about 22lbs(shipping weight about 27lbs) Measures Approximately 27 inches tall, the front is 16 inches across, the two back side boards are 12 inches across forming a"V" in the back, the cabinet is 10 inches deep at the widest point from the center of the"v" to the front, with one small shelf inside. The bottom is flush, and this will stand on the floor as shown or could be displayed on top of a table or other piece you may have to complement it.

Up for bidding is an antique primitive pine corner cupboard. It is likely that it was built into a house and the back was put on later. The backing is 3 1/2 inch wide tongue and groove boards. They have been painted green on the back but are white on the inside of the cabinet with one corner free of paint. There original structure has been sanded to remove lots of the chippy pain t. It reveals the various paint colors that have accumulated over time with the most recent tan over white over light green over dark green. The two metal butterfly hinges and slide lock appear to be original and very secure. I suspect the longer hinge at the bottom of the door was added later. But I am not sure. Antique Painted European Corner Cabinet, 18th Century Europe, Bible Scene
Antique wooden corner cabinet dating to the late 1700's. The cabinet has two curved doors that have a scene painted on them. Probably biblical. There is a king with a crown, some Roman guards and other various people. I wish I could identify the scene but I am not a biblical scholar. The cabinet measures 36 inches high and each side is 13-3/4 inches deep. It measures 22 inches across the front. Condition is good for being over 200 years old. The cabinet is solid though there are some splits to the sides and one small part cut out, all over wear and flaking paint. It does not appear to ever have had the paint touched up. The hinges have some breaks and are held to the cabinet with all kinds of screws and nails through out the years. This piece is far from pristine, but absolutely fabulous. In response to the enthusiasm and desire for rare and period pieces of Chinese art. And a continued rise in the value and stability of the Chinese Art Market as confirmed by Bonham's most recent Asian Sale, we have been given the opportunity by a local private collector to offer this extraordinary piece of Chinese furniture: A Jichimu& Huamu Tapered Corner Cabinet. The cabinet is composed of expensive and rare hardwoods. And is the pinnacle of traditional Chinese furniture making during the Qing Dynasty period, with its STUNNING and large burl-wood front panels showing scholarly grain patterns from“volcanoes” and“sandstorms” to“ghost faces” and“hellfire” These are patterns only seen on these special wood types- ... moreand are what make them so highly desired and valuable. The cabinet beautifully tapers slightly from the base towards the top. Cabinets of this caliber. With the beautifully raised quatrefoil relief panels, are the product of expert craftsman and would’ve only been affordable to the wealthiest of households, with many ordered for Imperial use. This continues today with similar cabinets and ones of lower quality regularly selling in excess of $100.000. It’s important to note that the cabinet is entirely constructed with the use of interlocking wood joints– no nails– and is made from all solid. Hardwood– no veneers. The cabinet is in good condition measuring 63.5 inches tall by 34 inches wide by 18.75 inches deep(161.29 cm by 86.36 cm by 47.62 cm) Please see the attached image of a very similar Ming Dynasty Period Cabinet- no doubt worth in excess of $100.000. This is a mahogany double door curved glass Duncan Phyfe style corner closet that dates from the 1940s era. It’s probably a Drexel. But ... moreI couldn’t find it marked anywhere. We’ve had quite a few of these over the years. This one has solid mahogany grillwork doors on the two curved glass tops, wooden shelves with plate rails inside, and below that is a large dovetail drawer, and there are two wooden paneled drawers in the base. The cabinet comes with a key, has a cutout bracket foot base, a strong grain on the panels on the doors, and on the top is the curved glass with heavy mahogany grill. You can see some repairs on the grillwork, where it had to be professionally fixed. It also has its original Hepplewhite hardware. The overall size is 38 inches wide, 24 inches deep, and 70 inches tall. It takes up 20 inches of wall space. The overall condition is great, with only normal nicks and dings. Antique Corner Cabinet, c. late 18th Century
This is a wonderful antique corner cabinet that dates from the late 18th Century. This is a carved solid wood piece. Not veneered. The top portion has a single door with 12 panes of glass. There are four interior shelves in this section and the fronts of the shelves are scalloped and have slots to hang silverware. This top section has a crown molding and reeded panels above the door and on either side. The bottom section has a set of double doors hiding two selves. This piece provides a huge amount of storage, as you can see from the pictures. This piece was hand made of walnut and measures approximately 83 1/2" tall, 42" wide and fits a 25 1/2" deep corner. This is a great diminutive hanging corner cabinet with kind of a folk art look. It is solid pine with nice old thick and decorative mahogany veneer. There are several shelves inside which will make for excellent corner storage. There is a geometric design to the paneled door as well as an inlaid wood escutcheon. The drawer is hand dovetailed and chamfered. Although there is only one drawer. It appears to have three due to the three original wooden pulls or knobs. the top is pine as are the rear boards. One of the rear pine boards is very wide at 17" There are new hanging brackets on the back at the top. At some point a block was added so that this cabinet could also be a freestanding unit. It does retain the original lockset and key. Up for auction. I have this great antique oak corner wall cabinet. I purchased this item at a local estate sale. The cabinet measures 22" tall and 12" from the back corner to each edge. It is triangular and made to hang in the corner by 2 loop hooks. It is constructed from oak wood and has two shelves plus the bottom. The original mirror is bevelled. Unmarked, back is a painted off white color. Everything appears original. Was built in to a dining room corner so the base has nail holes from the applied floor trim.
