UHL Stool This vintage UHL stool dates from 1940-1950. The stool adjusts up and down and adjustment works perfectly(height of seat from 16 1/2" to 24" When the seat is set in it's lowest position the top of the backrest is 30" high. The original seat and back have been refinished to a rich dark walnut with a satin lacquer clear coat. The seat measures 16" wide and 14" deep. The backrest measures 13 1/2" wide and 6" high. Both are 3/8" thick. The seat swivels freely. The foot rest ring is 20 1/4" in diameter which is more desirable than the standard 16" The chair was completely dismantled and sandblasted by a professional. Primitive antique foot stool wooden bench 2 layers of vintage textile cover
Cutest little footstool! All wood with chippy paint and a cloth-covered top with two layers of textiles that appear to be original. The seat pad is detached. See the pictures for the best description of the fabric- its a dusty rose color with a woven floral pattern, feels like a cotton texture and there are no rips but it shows its age. There is another layer of fabric underneath this covering but I did not remove the top cover to investigate. Both textiles are held in place with small tacks and are intact enough to clean up or add your own layer of history- perhaps a needlepoint. No weird/bad smell. Dimensions are 14" long by 10" wide by 7" tall at the frame plus about 3/4" for the pad. The joints and nails are in good condition but I would not plan to use this as a step stool(unless by a child) I did not find any splits ... moreor cracks in the wood frame and all of the nail heads look alike(a little rusty) so no signs of modern repairs. Just an adorable little ole thing! Very charming and functional; picture this holding your stack of books next to a favorite reading chair. Great primitive decorator piece! This stool is approx. 16" long by approx. 12" wide by approx. 7" tall the legs are cast iron and the fabric is very very old and the padding used for stuffing the stool is sawdust. On both legs it is marked AS680 Art Specialty Co. I believe this co. is an old name from the 1900's into the 1950's I'm not sure how old this stool is but if you date it from the fabric that is on it it is very old your guess is as good as mine.

The stool is very solid and adjust in height from 19 1/2" 25" and has a 14 1/2" diameter seat. The glass balls on the feet are free of anh cracks and chips. The stool has had the seat reglued and overall refinished at some point in its past and surfaces have a smooth sealed finish. There is a color variation on the base of the stool. Almost looks like shadowing in the finish, not sure what it is but it does look nice. I took lots of pictures of different sides so you can see. Vintage Primitive Solid Oak Old Farm House Stool Here is a Wonderful Old Solid Oak stool straight out of an Old Farmhouse estate here in NC. The stool is in excellent Vintage pre-owned condition with all the normal signs of use/wear you would expect for it's age ie: has a wonderful old age patina. Some moisture staining on the seat, small amount of light speckles of paint, minor wood chips, dings, small cut, etc. mostly what I call nice old age character) see pics) The stool was used regularly in the kitchen. While she sat snapping peas and beans, reaching for high on the shelf items etc. Here are some measures app 17.5" in height by app 13 and 3/8" wide a the base(legs) And app 13" across the seat. The seat swivels and has a lock if you should want to lock it. The seat and back are made from bent maple, just like the original Toledo chairs. We can also put casters on these and paint them, chrome, copper or brass plate the steel, and do various stains on the wood. So they can be customized like most of our designs.
