Primitive antique foot stool wooden bench 2 layers of vintage textile cover
Cutest little footstool! All wood with chippy paint and a cloth-covered top with two layers of textiles that appear to be original. The seat pad is detached. See the pictures for the best description of the fabric- its a dusty rose color with a woven floral pattern, feels like a cotton texture and there are no rips but it shows its age. There is another layer of fabric underneath this covering but I did not remove the top cover to investigate. Both textiles are held in place with small tacks and are intact enough to clean up or add your own layer of history- perhaps a needlepoint. No weird/bad smell. Dimensions are 14" long by 10" wide by 7" tall at the frame plus about 3/4" for the pad. The joints and nails are in good condition but I would not plan to use this as a step stool(unless by a child) I did not find any splits ... moreor cracks in the wood frame and all of the nail heads look alike(a little rusty) so no signs of modern repairs. Just an adorable little ole thing! Very charming and functional; picture this holding your stack of books next to a favorite reading chair. Great primitive decorator piece! Up for sale is a great old wood camel saddle or seat with original leather c ushion. I've used this for a long time as a foot stool in my living room and it never fails to get comp liments. The wood is in good condition with some average wear and a missin g decorative tack. Has both brass caps as you can see in the photos. All of the binding is original and in good shape. The seat shows a lot of wear. The design is worn and the coloring is most ly faded/worn off. There are a lot of scuffs and some small tears all of which can be seen in the photos. As far as I'm concerned. This adds a great look to the piece, especial ly if you plan to use it for a decorative piece or a foot stool. But you could easily reupholster the seat to your liking. But we do know that its very old. We don't have the exact measurements but if we had to guess this wonderful bench is about 4 feet across. 2 1/2 feet deep, and about 4 feet tall from the back test. Very detailed with all sorts of dragons on it. Even on the legs! This wonderful throne is in Howell Michigan with us waiting for somebody to take this wonderful piece of furniture home. A Victorian-Primitive. That's what we'll call it. The stool appears to be made from a plank with 4 boards nailed to it to add thickness. It's about 1 3/8" thick and has little or no padding under the fabric. Measures 9.75" X 14" and 8.5" tall. Iron legs have no breaks or damage. Fabric is dusty and could use cleaning. ANTIQUE UPHOLSTERED CUSHIONED SMALL WOOD FOOT STOOL OTTOMAN BENCH VINTAGE
For sale we have a very pretty antique foot stool that measures 15 1/2 inches wide. 11 1/2 inches deep and is 9 1/2 inches high. The stool is cushioned and has a reddish burgandy slightly shiny fabric on it. This was recovered at some point. I do not know the exact age of this. To me it seems like the 1940's but I don't really know. The structure is great, no problems, as well as the fabric. The one leg is about 1/8 inch to short so I'm including some cork floor protectors so if you want to use them you can. You can double up on the one leg so the stool sits flat on the floor. You can cut them to size. The wood has a few scratches but nothing major. You can see on the bottom a staple that held a tag, a tiny piece of the tag is still there.
