It shows some signs of age and use. There are some paint spots underneath the seat and some other stains and build up. There is a small crack in the bottom of the seat(see pics) There the legs have some small spots where paint was dripped on it. It measures approx. 18” tall when the seat is all the way down. The seat measures approx. 14 ¼” in diameter. The feet are beautiful cast iron eagle claws with glass balls at the bottom. This is just an overall great piece and a wonderful find! I was instructed that this is a vintage spinet piano.Not an upright. I was also instructed that a spinet piano has a better tone than an upright piano. If this corresponds with your thought process,then you should purchase this instead of at a piano store unless you are willing to give up your first born. There are many subjects that I possess limited knowledge and pianos are one of those subjects. I purchased this because I thought one of my ADULT children was going to take my antique Story& Clark piano in my living room. As happens now and then children change their mind. Now I have two pianos that I cannot play. Therefore. Please don't try to sell me a piano. Anyway, I believe there are a few keys out of tune,so if one is planning on giving a recital as soon as they receive this piano-it won't happen. EXTREMELY RARE. A TRULY UNIQUE and SELDOM SEEN!This is too Cool for words! Not only is this a swivel style stool, but the legs have the most amazing detail on them! The bottom part is a cast iron bronze base with a face sitting on a clear ball. The clear ball part seems to be a heavy duty plastic, but looks like its glass. The underneath of the seat is mounted on black cast iron as well. This guy has the best looking legs if seen in a long time. This is why we buy Vintage! You won't see anything like this today. Although I've seen a few other piano stool similar to this. I've yet to see one with this kind of feet. I've seen the"claw' foot before, but I've not seen one with a"face" foot. Standing up it measures approximately 17 inches high. It is made of solid wood and metal. I am told that the wood is mahogany. But am not completely sure of this. If you know how to determine this, just contact me to clarify. The structure of the stool is in good shape. It does seem to be very sturdy. And structurally secure. The 4 feet are metal and resemble a bird or dragon's foot holding a crystal or glass ball. They are all in good shape and would clean up nicely. Some light surface scratches on top areas visible in harsh direct light but not really noticeable under naturals or accent lighting; may polish out with some tlc. Still looks great over all; contemporary color ahead of the 90s when it came out! Sound quality and levels still decent. Has upper midrange speakers and a woofer speaker bar for the lows. Vintage Chas Parker Claws Glass Ball Adjustable Wooden Piano Stool
ITEM: Vintage Chas Parker adjustable wooden piano stool. Approx. Measurements: Height: 19" 23" adjustable height. Diameter: 14" CONDITION: The seat portion appear to be assembled with multiple pieces of glued wood. 3 pieces of wood have became unglued& re-glued back into place. You can see small gaps on the side of the seat part. Where it had came unglued& re-glued. Another pieces of wood on base had came unglued& re-glued. The veneers on top& underneath the stool seat are cracked. Dried out& falling off easily. The seat portion wiggles throughout seat adjustment& even when it is screwed in all the way. The claws are not that firmly attached to the stool feet. It has a little wiggle to it. Small nicks& chips on bottom of glass balls. But that is probably to be expected. Item also show signs of age& ... morewear including: rusts. Stains, scratches, discolorations& split\crack\falling pieces of woods. Please see photos for details. Vintage Mahogany Glass Ball& Cast Iron Claw Piano Stool- H. Holtzman& Sons Holtzman& Sons- Columbus. Ohio Glass Ball& Claw Piano Stool ca. 1900 This auction is for a vintage piano stool. The stool Is well constructed(weighs over 15 lbs) and stands 18-1/2" tall in the down position. It raises to over 23" The seat diameter is about 14-1/2" The condition is very very good. There is a split in the top where the seat material was originally fused together as made(not unusual) But it is very solid and still very attractive. The legs and lower supports are spindled with nice wood turnings. The glass balls are held in mildly ornate cast iron claw holders. Overall an excellently built and very nicely finished piece. The top has a few light scratch marks. But is still near excellent in condition. Please supersize the ... moremany photos I'm providing to see how nice this stool is. The seat cast iron support is marked"Charles Holtzman& Sons. Columbus, O" I'm pretty certain that the top is mahogany.I'm not sure about the lower support structural pieces. VINTAGE 1900'S CLAW FOOT PIANO STOOL GLASS BALLFOOT
This is a vintage lower half of a piano stool that has the metal claw feet with a clear glass ball& is 15" tall. Thes is some looseness in 2 of the legs. Nail heads around the bottom of the seat which probably there to hold the cushion top. Someone-plugged the center as in the picture& the top is a 3 piece laminated top. As in the pictures most of the original finish is gone but is still solid& good for restoration if not the 4 claw feet.
