It is on nylon fishing line and has a non-traditional Indian clasp and no cones and the nylon is hand tied and knotted to the jump rings. ❀The beads are hand soldered"Hogans" or bench beads that measure 10mm in diameter. ❀The turquoise nugget beads are of a fine American mine. The stones are a tal blue color and some have a white veil mottled through the stones. I found black matrix and white quartz inclusions as well. The largest center stone measures 7/8" long. Offering up a very nice Rock Island#571 vise date stamped 11-43 this vise has been well cared for and other than a few small superficial bumps as you can see is in close to mint condition with no breaks. Cracks or repairs, ever. Vise jaws are 3" and open to 5-1/2" jaw pads are virtually unused with clean cross hatching as this vise has always had soft jaws over them for protection, and are also included. But don't appear to be original to the lathe and have no brand on them. As can be seen in the photos, they have rolled over edges so are strong and smooth. There are a number of factory holes to allow for attachment, both across the table top, and a shelf below. The industrial grey paint is missing in a few places, but overall condition is good. The legs stand 29 1/2" high. Are 22 3/4" wide across the top and the top bars are 3 1/4" wide. The feet are 6" wide with holes for securing to the floor. There are two cross braces that are 30" long but could be shorten to any length. My scale only goes to 50 pounds and is incapable of weighing it but it is quite heavy. it is very old and shows the standard wear and tear of an old well used tool. Vintage Wilton Mechanics Swivel Bench Vise #1750 5" Jaw width Heavy Duty USA
This is a nice Wilton 1750 vise with a 5" jaw width and swivel. When I got it the jaws were in bad shape. At some point. The bolts holding the jaws on had loosened, but the user continued to use the vise which caused the bolts to break off inside the holes. I have removed all of the old, broken bolts. A new set of replacement jaws and perhaps some new paint is all that would be required to restore this to new condition. The replacement jaws and bolts are available for around $25 online. I will include aftermarket aluminum jaws. These were originally held to the vise with magnets, which have now been crushed, so they just rest on the jaw faces. The pipe jaws on this vise are slightly different than I have seen on other versions of this vise. But perhaps this is an earlier design. Vintage Kindel Grand Rapids Foot Stool/Bench
Up for auction is a Kindel foot stool/ foot rest. The Kindel furniture company is a highly respected manufacturer from Grand Rapids. Michigan. This stool is constructed of a hard wood and has a leather rest. The rest moves and the unit has rockers for added mobility. It stands approximately 15" high and 12" wide. The leather is in very good condition with no tears or cracks. It is still very supple. One of the wood sides that attaches to a rocker has 2 cracks. See photo) They are hairline and don't effect the sturdiness of the unit. One crack goes through the wood, the other crack does not. They are not easily seen because of the grain of the wood. I have wiped the piece down, but I have not thoroughly cleaned or polished the wood or conditioned the leather. It is a great decorator piece, but still is very functional. The jaws are replaceable but don't look like they have ever been used, if so then hardly at all. It had some ultra light surface from sitting in a basement for so long. That is not a crack in the side towards the back. It is from the casting process where the sand mold was not smoothed there before casting. This vise was made by the Grinnell Co. of Providence, RI. They were a huge maker and installer of industrial fire sprinkler systems from the early days. They also made and installed piping for power plants. There are a lot of questions and answers about these Grinnell vises on the" practical machinist" web site. DESCRIPTION: Vintage low Asian-style bench manufactured by Leonard of California. Inc. original tag attached underneath) It has a black painted wood base, thick tufted green cushion with 4 gold tassels attached at the corners, reminiscent of James Mont style. It also has 6 big round buttons underneath the base(in the same fabric) It measures 40L x 20W x 14" tall(from the floor to the top of the cushion, approximately) Good original vintage condition. There are some nicks, scrapes, indentations to the wood base, and white colored marks to the lower part of the feet. Most of these could either be filled in a little or touched up a bit with some black paint. The white marks could probably be removed with a little bit of cleaning. A few light spots to the cushion, which are hardly noticeable, and possibly some light fading, but it's ... morea little difficult to tell for sure since the bottom half of the cushion looks the same color as the top half. There is a 1-1/2" area of fabric fraying or separation underneath the seam on one side.we didn't notice this until we turned the bench upside down, but it still seems to be holding together okay. It could always be re-upholstered, if desired, or left as is since the fabric looks in pretty decent shape.
