These are very heavy duty.carrying an eight foot work top when found. They have a notch built in to hold a stretcher/ reinforcing board. The top piece has a built in 1.5" step up from front to back. As well as a brace for a backsplash. There are no maker's or foundry marks that I found. The rust is very light and much of it is'flash' rust caused by all the rain and moisture in the last weeks. No cracks were found. One small chip on one foot can be seen in photo 11. There is some reddish paint on the front of one leg. The height from the floor to the lower brace is 9" To the top of the front section is 30.5" to the top of the rear section is 31" to the top of ... morethe backsplash brace is 37" On the top, the front/lower section is 13.5" deep, and the rear/upper section is 15.5" deep. Up for auction is this ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE SOLID OAK PIANO ADJUSTABLE STOOL! It is in very good condition for its age. It is from the 1800's after all. It is adjustable height. It has the unpolished brass claw feet. The glass balls have NO cracks and r in very good condition with bubbles. On the bottom of the glass feet are pads so they didn't get scratched or cracked. I will leave it up to the buyer to keep them on or remove them. On the underside it says TONK NEW YORK CHICAGO. There is what looks like a scratch on the main middle leg but is the way it came from the factory which is a flaw in the wood. Please look at the photos I've showed it in one of the pictures. This is in the form of a stool or small bench as shown. It is made of heavy thick wood. This measures 24 inches long. It is a little over 12 inches tall and is 14 inches wide. It has a great design. It is one of those designs that can go with a wide range of decor like arts and crafts, primitive, country, Shaker or early American. Many designs done at Berea were inspired by Wallace Nutting. Berea College of Kentucky has been known since the early 1900's for making well crafted and quality pieces of furniture. Their furniture was made from native Kentucky woods. There are some small minor scuffs and use marks but nothing is a major distraction from this well done piece. There are some very light surface wear marks on the edges of the legs and top. Antique woodworking bench tons of character + unique vintage hardware
Really beautiful turn of the century workbench. It's got hardware with patent dates from the 1890's! Bench is 10' long. 32" wide, 32" high. The bench top shows tons of wear and character, and the board that makes up the rear of the bench is a full 21" wide. Unlike most other repurposed workbenches. This piece doesn't have big vises sticking out, nor does it have the recessed tool tray that makes decorating difficult-it's just one big flat surface. The handwheel that turns the bench dog screw is fully functional-turn the wheel and the bench dog travels back and forth. It's really neat. This piece will make a gorgeous table. Original Vintage Solid Hard Wood Gossip/Telephone Bench
Original vintage solid hard wood gossip/telephone bench circa 1940s. This bench was in my husband's family home since he can remember so we figure it was there in the 40s when he was old enough to notice it. I am not sure of the wood. But it is a beautiful grain and a deep rich color. The chair is in excellent condition without any loose or wobbly parts, no nicks or dents in the wood except two scratches on the back on one leg(pictures) There are two small spots on the seat that look slightly faded-you have to look really closely at photos to see them. All original without any restorations.
