ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 19TH CENTURY BEADWORK STAR SHAPE FOOT STOOL Measurements: 11 inches diameter x 4 inches deep A most unusual Victorian star shaped stool with a beautiful bead work top. It has a wooden frame which is covered in pleated silk with bead drops in each indent of the star. The striking beadwork top is worked with glass beads and woolwork embroidery- this is in extremely good condition with just a few of the black beads missing. The silk around the edge of the stool is very damaged and fragile as can be seen in the photos below. Each star indent has bunches of bead drops- some of these have some beads missing. There are age related scratches and nicks As to be expected from a use antique piece. Decorated with reed lined undulating legs with acorn buttons and acorn finial on the base. The seat has the same reed lines and acorn buttons with the addition of a scalloped apron on each side with carved curly cues. The seat brace-metal base has been reattached ... moresome time ago. It is now loose. Not sloppy but needs to be retightened or re drilled for a tight fit. This does not affect the balance or seat itself when used. When in use the stool is sturdy and solid. I have for auction a Lovely Victorian Slipper Stool. The stool is wood. Possibly walnut and is covered with a green& cream needlepoint floral design. It is attached with attractive, square, brass escutcheon tacks. The handles of the stool are spindles. One of the spindles has damage on the center in the form of chipping, see photo 9. The stool is 18" long, 8 inches wide and is just shy of 10 inches tall. There is normal vintage wear and the needlepoint is in good condition with some light soiling and spots. Early Beaded Upohlstered Covered Victorian Foot Stool
This is a really old beaded Victorian foot stool. I have no idea who could have/ would have made it. But there is just a ton of work in it. Unfortunately due to age and use, there is plenty of wear as pics show. But yet still beautiful in its own way. I have had many old foot stools in the past but never one I can remember with the beads. Stool has its original black painted finish and original upholstered mohair cushion. Probably had velvet ribbon covering the tacks around the edge of stool. But that is missing. VICTORIAN LADIES UPHOLSTERED FOOT STOOL- WOOD WITH CAST IRON BRACKET FEET CIRCA LATE 1800'S EARLY 1900'S UNKNOWN MAKER MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 10 INCHES ACROSS BY 6& 3/4 INCHES TALL UNPACKAGED WEIGHT = APPROX. 3 LBS GOOD CONDITION- SEE DETAILS I purchased this stool nearly 25 years ago at an antique shop in Mansfield. OH. I was told the stool was known as a"House Crier. and were typically given as a bonus when a furniture was purchased and the"house crier" part was due to the tripping hazard they presented. Whether this is true or not, I don't know but I thought it interesting so I thought I'd pass that on with the sale of the item. This little stool is still in good shape even though it has a crack in the wood that goes from side to side on the back side that shows evidence of being glued. I looks like this ... moreis where two pieces of wood were joined when it was made but I don't know that for sure and mention it for accuracy. I bought it in this condition and have had no problems with it so I don't feel that stool's sturdiness appears compromised in anyway considering its' use is simply to raise one's feet while seated. I did notice that one leg has a different mounting bracket than the other 3 but is a perfect match otherwise to the other 3(see photo) One of the wooden ball finials is missing. Lastly I reupholstered the stool 25 years ago with a period appropriate fabric design to match a chair I had as shown in the last photo. This lovely antique piano or organ stool has a octagon shaped seat that is 15" diameter. It is covered with a burgundy needle point floral design. It has a heavy wooden base and is very sturdy. There is a small amount of veneer lost here and there on the base of show in the photos. The stool is 18 1/2 inches high at it's lowest and can go a lot higher. This is an antique victorian piano stool/chair with claw and glass ball feet is well over 100 years old. The chair back is a little wobbly. Could use a little TLC and restoration. Has been anted blue. But could be restored to it's beautiful wooden finish. The stool is in good shape for age. Ther is a bit of rust under the seat(see picture) and one of the 4 arms of the bracket is cracked. You are bidding on a beautiful piece of vintage furniture from my Aunt's collection. I remember this piece being in her home for the last 40 years. I am not certain where it came from originally, but this is a very nice solid oak piano stool, with adjustable seat, lovely glass ball and claw feet, and very nice design. It has very minor wear from age as we were not allowed to sit or play on it. I searched for a name or maker and only could find an incised number in the bottom of the top of the stool. Victorian piano stool, original tapestry seat, wood and cast iron foot stool
This is a wood and cast iron Victorian piano stool but could also be used as a foot stool. This is a Victorian original probably made sometime in the late 1800's. The base is made of solid wood with a dark stain and the seat is upholstered with either the ORIGINAL tapestry or a replacement from very near the same time period. The tapestry is that of an urn with flowers in it. And both the tapestry and the fringe are in great, usable shape. Such an old historic fabric in such good shape, is rarer than the stool itself. There is a small part of the cast iron base plate that is missing but it does not affect the stability or function of the stool. The seat is stable and spins freely. As it should. The Seat/Cushion and board has been replaced. But still very old. It has been painted from original gold. The velvet material is old and the black fringe is new. Not perfect, velvet has a small tear that has been repaired which I tried to show in the photo. The fringe is not perfect. Some scratches on paint. Antique - Victorian "Tonk" Piano Stool covered in a Beautiful Needlepoint
This is a wonderful Victorian TONK Piano Stool. Covered in what appears to be a wool hand stitched needlepoint. The needlepoint is in excellent condition. With a beautiful Burgundy colored background surrounding a floral design.The edges are held with hand hammered tacks, also in excellent condition. The legs are tooled wood finished with a metal foot holding a glass ball. Most likely the metal is cast iron.The legs are painted beige in color and do have several chips and dings in the paint. The glass balls also show some chips and wear but are in great condition, considering the age. This appears to be made in the late 1800's. Under the seat stamped in the metal frame are names of two(2) locations: New York, Chicago, and the manufacturer- Tonk. The complete swivel mechanism is not included, the inside threaded casing seems to be missing ... morefrom the stool. The seat part does have the threaded rod. However, you can sit on it. Please see photographs. It stands 20" high& about 15" wide as is. This piece has been in my family since the 1970's. Carved Antique Eastlake Victorian Walnut Sewing Stool w/ Hinged Lid
This is a very nice antique Eastlake Victorian walnut lift top stool. It measures 21 1/2" wide x 19" high x 9" deep with the seat being 10" x 20" It has been refinished/ restored at some point. There are new brackets at the corners inside the top. There is some glue residue at the joints of the dowels on the bottom which you can see in the last two pictures we posted. Otherwise it is in good condition. It is available for pickup or can be delivered by Fed Ex ground for 16.80 to the lower 48 states.
