I am selling this really rare Victorian dentists stool. Manufactured by Smith, PGH. O f P hiladelphia in the United States. The metal is cast iron and the seat is covered with velvet. The stool can be adjusted f or height and measures a maximum of 32 1/2 inches tall and has a minimum hei ght of 24 inches. The diameter o f th e seat is 9 1/8 inches. The stool weighs about 11 kilos. The condition is very good; the velvet cushion has a bit of wear and the metal some scratches and marks. But overall it is in really fine fettle for the age for a used item. It has been very well carved and it still retains it's original finish.It has at some point been re-covered which is to be expected on a piece of this age but it has been done very well and is totally in keeping with the period. Is is a rise and fall piano stool however the piece of metal that houses the thread has worn so it will need replacing. Wonderful wear to the top wood from years of loving use, though it looks like it has been reshelacked by an amateur, as you see some swirls in the stains. Scarce Antique 1870's Victorian Adjustable Mechanical Piano Stool Organ Bench EX
For sale 1870's Piano Bench that raises and lowers by the Knobs on the ends of the stool by way of the metal mechanics under the seat. This was very avant-garde for the period. Adjustable piano bench were round and turned on the wood corkscrew dowel attached to the seat. The wood which I believe to be walnut is in. EXCELLENT dark stained condition and has never been painted. The seat was recovered but I believe was just put over the original seat as I can still see the strapping underneath. This is a very old R W Archer& Bros piano stool. I obtained this from an estate sale in Ohio. This stool is solid and has a nice weight(over 15lbs) I believe the wood is Mahogany but I am not 100% sure. The stool works as it should and swivels up and down. I bought it to restore but it has been sitting for about a year and it has become apparent that is not going to happen. The seat needs replaced and recovered and there are some nicks and wear(please see pictures) This stool is as I found it and I have done nothing to it. It is marked may 6 1978. This is an antique Victorian organ or piano stool with cast iron claw and glass ball feet and is made of solid mahogany. The seat measures aprox. 14 1/2" in diameter and adjusts in height from 19" to 23" There is some wear to the finish as you can see in the pictures. The joints and legs are nice and tight, two of the glass ball feet have chips on the bottom which you can view in the pictures. This Victorian beadwork foot stool I think dates to around 1870. The stool has I think a mahogany base with lovely beadwork designs of flowers on the top that has nice colour and a great effect, the stool has nice patina with age and measures 12 x 9 inches, there are a couple of areas of damage to the beadwork as seen in the photos and a few beads missing here and there with age and use, the piping on the edge also needs fixing in places as also seen in the photos, a little tlc will bring the stool back to its best
