Flowers are shades of reds and pinks and whites, with green foliage. Needlepoint is attached to board(see photos) and is removable. The body of the footstool wooden with a dark stain. The needlepoint is in wonderful condition with no tears or holes or pulls, and looks to have been attached onto a new board. Wooden stool is also very sturdy and in great condition with normal wear in the form of scrapes and scratches. Found at an estate sale, I do not have any other information about this item, when it was made, where it is from, or how old it is. This pretty footstool would compliment any Victorian lover's decor, but would also fit well into the English/French Country decorated home. This charming footstool was made in the United States by German-born Martin Ulsamer in 1875. He had emigrated from Germany and settled in Chicago. Martin made this footstool especially for his Swedish wife. Anna Louisa. He carved a pretty design into the frame of the footstool as well as onto the turned spindle legs. The footstool is oval-shaped and is in sturdy condition with all 4 legs intact and secure. The finish is in very good condition for its age. The cushion is in very good condition. This auction is for a beautiful antique English footstool from the early to mid-Victorian era. I believe it is walnut and has beautiful needlework on top with glass beading that was so popular in the 1800's. By the style. I think this is from probably 1840's to 1870's. It measures about 12 1/4 inches across and appr. 4 inches tall. The needlework top has colors of beige and gold with white and clear glass beads. There are a few areas of missing beads- please see photos as part of the description. The wood is a beautiful color and I think has the original finish. There is one small crack on the backside(see pic) which has caused a very slight separation in the wood seam. see last picture) I consider this to be very minor, but mentioned to be accurate. Rare Antique Vintage Victorian Curved Iron Leg Footstool w/Tapestry Cover Measures approx. 11.25" diameter(wood) x 7" tall. It has very unusual curved iron legs and wood ball detailing. The top is the original(I believe) woven tapestry fabric which is very worn. There appear to be some added/replaced tacks used on the fabric. Though these are vintage and not recently done. One decorative wooden ball is missing. See photos for details. A very nice Victorian piece with great original patina!

Handsome antique upholstered footstool or ottoman with thick curved wooden moldings and cabriole legs. Dark wood not sure maybe Walnut or Mahogany? Measures 16" high x 23" length x 15" width Has pretty blue and olive green floral with light beige background tapestry upholstery(has some wear and several pulls and small holes. See photos) Wooden trim is rich and thick. It does have numerous small nicks/dents in the wood. And the finish is very worn on the feet. There is one small nail/hole? on one corner of the trim. see photo) There is black cambric fabric on the underside of the piece. All in all. Considering the age, this is a very nice ottoman. Really just needs a touch up and a new cover.
