They measure 24 1/2 inches long by 17 3/4 inches wide with a seat height of 20 inches and overall height that is about 24 or 26 inches high. The vintage fabric had some heavy plastic stapled to it to protect it if for years. The vinyl has been removed. There is some fading to the gilt work. PAIR OF AMERICAN BLUE PAINTED BENCHES WITH BOOTJACK ENDS Probably late 19th or early 20th Century Item# 1407JCU25P This is a delightful example of rural production. The pair probably crafted to suit the family of the craftsman, possibly of repurposed wood during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Crafted of yellow pine, they feature a thin slat crest rail rested in a key in the stile and affixed with a single screw(some added nails) from the back, the single plank seat nailed on either side and supported on a pair of triangular blocks underneath and a horizontal apron set in a key. The stiles are single planks from the crest through the bootjack ends. The paint is early, probably at least partially original with much of the surface heavily distressed and flaking in a most attractive way. A positively charming pair of benches for anyone ... morepassionate about rustic interiors and Americana- these were acquired from the same estate as our scrubbed top American Harvest Table and would accompany it quite nicely. Measurements: 59 1/8" W x 15 3/4" D x 34 3/4" H; seat is 18 7/8" H Condition Report: Painted surface is early and worn. But we cannot be certain of it's originality or even vintage. Pair of Vintage Cast Iron Tree Benches Grape Vine Design RARE (PRICE DROP)
Two vintage cast iron tree benches. They are the grapevine design. One of the benches is in good condition. One of the benches is broken but it can be fixed if you know how to weld or braze cast iron. When they got broken a long time ago. I welded and/or brazed where the parts were broken, but I never finished it. Most of the welds just need to be cleaned up and smoothed out. It looks like one of them has re cracked over the years. Most of the spots where the one bench has been broken are where the legs attach to the bottom of the bench. All the legs themselves are still good(not broken) There is a little piece that is missing on the seat where it would meet up with the back. I'm not sure what happened to that piece, but using the rest of the bench as an example, a replacement piece could be fabricated.
