Antique Walnut Taboret Bench Stool Needlepoint Cushion Rose Butterfly
This is a ornate antique bench with a needlepoint cushion. It measures approx. 20 3/4" tall. 21" long and 15 1/2" wide. The base is made of solid wood(I believe it is walnut) that has a dark finish that is worn/scratched. There are 2 small and 1 large knob on each end, they do turn and have dowels between them, the wood piece behind one of the small knobs and the small knob is broken off and missing. I do not know how this stool is meant to fold but others that I have seen listed do say they fold. The cushion is covered with a large piece of needlepoint that has an olive green background with pink roses, foliage and butterflies in the center. Needlepoint Foot Stool Designed by Maureen Reagan in Pink & Blue
This fuchsia pink and royal blue footstool was designed by Maureen Reagan. The needlepoint top has a white rose in the center and small blue flowers that form a circle around it. The needlepoint background is stitched in yarn(with tiny metallic highlights) that matches the fuchsia fabric on the sides of the stool. Around the base of the cushion there is ribbon trim that looks like small roses with leaves. The wooden legs of this stool have a few spots where the finish has come off.this is easy to remedy with matching dark brown stain commonly sold at hardware stores(see last photo) The stool is about 13" tall and the needlepoint top is about 10 1/2" in diameter(about 33" circumference) The fabric around the sides of the cushion looks like it is either linen or cotton or a blend of the two. The height of the wood is 7" This will need a little restoration, the corner mitres aren't all tight, there are scratches and some nicks. There is some flaking on the veneer around the legs. The pattern is floral in shades of pink and rose, and cream flowers on a sea-foam green background. The underside is a matching sea-foam green silk or silk-like fabric which is also in good condition(there is only a minor snag and normal age-related, faint discoloration along the edges which you would expect from a vintage item) The ties are leather-type and also in good condition. Vintage foot stool with a maroon cross stitch padded top. Maroon cover has pink roses with green leaves in the center. Base in very good condition. some of the tan background cloth does show thru the stitches in spots and there is a small flaw in the stitching underneath the roses next to a small green leaf to the right of it. Also one pulled thread in the far right which has been left as is. This is a very pretty foot stool with a classic antique look. See all photos. This stool was made pre-1940 in that the screws used in construction underneath are not Phillip's screws but the single slot screws. The tapistry background is dark blue with a beautiful hand stitched floral design. i am not an expert on furniture but I believe the legs are what is referred to as a Queen Ann style. It seems like it was recovered with this floral tapestry or needlepoint material some time in the 1970s and looks to me as if it was reglued at the legs. The Upholstry job apears to be a good one and the little tacks apear to be more modern and up to date so new when the Upholstry was done. Thats all I can put together. Solid. Has some little round felt bottoms to prevent scratching of the harwood floors in that house. The Needlepoint shows some age and wear but no loos ends or frays. Moth holes, odor or separation from the back tacked to the wood. Colors are light blue background edge with greens, burnt umber, wheat colors. Antique Needlepoint Foot Stool - Carved Legs - Black Flower Top - Footstool
What a lovely footstool! It measures 16 1/2 x 12 1/2 x 9 inches. The needlepoint top features a lovely floral scene on a black ground. There is some wear to the needlepoint- some small holes here and there- see photo 9. The stuffing in the top has compacted a bit so the top curves in a bit- it just needs a little extra stuffing to bring it back up again. The base has been glued in places- see the last two photos but overall and there is a chip or two to the wood but overall. This antique footstool has a beautiful look- it's a great old piece!

This sweet vintage footstool had a great needlepoint cover in greens. Browns and tans of a quail family. The base is dark stained pine. The edge of the needlepoint(underside of stool) has the marking"Smithsonian institution, by Mazal Tous" I don't know the age nor maker of this piece. It measures 11 1/4" x 9 1/2" x 8" This is as-found condition and the needlepoint could use re-stretching(good opportunity to add some batting) California buyers must add 7.5% sales tax. Antique victoroian walnut foot/gout stool. It is carved on both sides with a raised scroll ending in a bellflower. The four feet have raised ribbing. It measures 13" long. 11" across, and 8" high at the tallest point. The needlepoint is original. The binding around the needlepoint is all there, but in some part it is stiff to the touch from age. The underneath has a black baize fabric that has a tear. The foot/gout stool is sturdy and is all original. This carved wooden foot stool has floral carvings at its knees. Beveled cuts in the legs and the four panels have a meridian with adjacent shallow troughs. The stool is accented in gold paint and the cushion is secured with gold hammered nail heads. The foot stool frame is constructed of 7/8" thick wood with corner braces. The stool is structurally sound and the legs have metal glides on them. The needlepoint design is a rose motif on a green background. Antique Victorian Round Wooden Footstool with Beaded Needlepoint This is an antique footstool with beaded needlepoint on the cushion. It is in good usable condition. Some of the beads are missing in the needlepoint. And there are cracks in the veneer that vovers the wood on the base. The footstool has an 11" diameter and is about 6" high. It is designed with a wooden screw in the middle of the cushion that is secured from the underside of the wooden base. It is very easy to remove the cushion from the base.
