Vintage Solid Oak Hand Made Kidney Shaped Milking, Youth, Stool, 8" X 12 1/2"
A really lovely little milking or children's handmade oak stool. The stool employs sliding. Half-blind, dovetail joints to hold the round, tapered legs at a flared angle. The solid wood planks of the seat are beautifully jointed together, although one of the joints is separating and will need a little repair) This is a post 1900 piece made with real care. Vintage Wooden 3 Leg Milking Stool Footstool Furniture
Welcome! The seat of this stool is about 10" in diameter. Its stands just under 12" high. It is in good sturdy condition. On the top you will see what I first thought was a crack, but upon closer examination, I see that the stool was made with a couple of pieces of wood and that is where it was put together. There is some residue from when somebody must have put glue on it, although it is not needed as it is sturdy as is. On the bottom is a maker's mark, but through the years it has become too faint for me to read. There is a hole in the handle for a cord if you should wish to hang it.

This old pine lumber was part of a pile of wood that was left in an old barn.you can see the natural knots and dings in the wood. I painted this one barn red. Then distressed it to give it that old farm look and feel. You can see the square nails that I used to put it together. This one measures 24 long and about 18 inches tall by about 10 inches wide. The wood shows LOTS of use and the patina includes some barn red fingerprints and initials on the underside. By the original condition and construction. VERY OLD OAK ? MILKING STOOL 3 LEGS CHARMING RUSTIC SHABBY CHIC VICTORIAN ?
This is for a very old small milking stool. It has a lovely rustic charm and you can tell it has been well used. I think. But cant guarantee its made of oak. I am not a wood expert: I would think its probably Victorian though may be a bit later or even earlier? The legs were probably once very old chair legs. One is worn down a bit more on very bottom so it has a slight lean. All part of its patina from a well used old hand made stool. You may want to polish it up, I will leave this to the buyer. It is approx 8.25" across and 5" high. A great old item in a period setting.

BARN FIND This is an old spring loaded milking stool with a very comfy seat. It must have belonged to a rich farmer who wanted his milk maids to be comfortable. It is a strap on so she wouldn't have to worry about picking it up and lugging it from cow to cow. she would just get up from Maisy and swing and wiggle over to Bessy and so on. All she had to do was grab her bucket of milk and move on. Can't you just picture it? This is obviously something that would not be used in todays industrialized age. This is the epitome of the old Yankee Adage"USE IT UP. WEAR IT OUT MAKE IT DO. OR DO WITHOUT" This started out life on a coastal Connecticut farm as a very respectable and stylish Windsor Fanback armchair. At some point in the 1800's it moved from the parlor to the barn where with a few purposeful amputations it became the most comfortable seat amongst the stanchions. Ironically. It bear full testimony to the notion of Yankee frugality carried to the extremes, it is remarkably comfortable in its current form and would be a great attention grabber on the beach, by the pool, on your hearth, or tucked in a corner ready for a favorite grand child to visit. The seat measures 12 1.2 inches from the floor. With a total height of 33 1.2 inches, 19 inches wide, by 18 inches deep. The chair is structurally sound but missing its lower ... morestretchers, sections of legs, and arms. Antique Piano Stool Style Milking Stool. Upholstered
I am totally not sure on the age of this. It is a family piece that I have had for years and I am at the point that I can't remember WHY I had to have all this stuff. SO. This is a really neat little milking stool. Winds up and down in the manner of a piano stool. Kind of feels like straw under the fabric. Measures 12 inches across. Twirls up probably 8 inches safely. Measures 12 inches tall as pictured. This is from a family farm and I am not sure how many times it was passed down but pretty sure it is pre 1900.Items shipped within 3 business days.
