Well used stool weighs 7 lbs. and measures 13" Tall x 16" wide at it's widest point of the legs x 13" in depth. The seat measures 14 3/4" wide x 13" deep. The seat is constructed out of pine and the frame and legs are a hardwood that we can't determine what type of wood it is. The stool is still sturdy but one of the legs is shorter than the others causing it to wobble, you can trim off the bottom of the legs if you want to level it back up. It has the original green paint that is reminiscent of the 1950's and 60's green paint underneath a coat of antique white paint. We didn't clean the stool at all because we didn't want to change the original condition that we found it in. It would need a good and careful cleaning(if you want to) As it is a little dirty from all the years it was used and from being in the barn. Retail Value Estimate- $75.00-$95.00 We are not 100% sure of the age but is most likely to be from th e early 1950's based on the original paint and style of construction. For Auction: Vintage 4 Leg Red Metal Milking Farm Stool. Looks to be from the 1960- 1970 era. Stool measures 10" high and has a 10 1/2" x 8 1/2" rectangular shaped seat with a black slip resistant top. Stool has a great used worn look& base is strong as new. BARN FIND This is an old spring loaded milking stool with a very comfy seat. It must have belonged to a rich farmer who wanted his milk maids to be comfortable. It is a strap on so she wouldn't have to worry about picking it up and lugging it from cow to cow. she would just get up from Maisy and swing and wiggle over to Bessy and so on. All she had to do was grab her bucket of milk and move on. Can't you just picture it? This is obviously something that would not be used in todays industrialized age. Old Rustic Wooden Stool Padded seat 8" tall Milk Foot Stool Rural Farm Decor
For sale is an old rustic(smaller) wooden stool with padded vinyl type cover. This stool is about 8" tall and 10" across the top. The wood legs show the most age with some worm holes. Chipping, cracking, and wear. The leg seem somewhat fragile but are still secured nicely. The bottom of the feet(see picture) are the most worn. No doubt this chair has seen use. Probably more of a decor piece than anything. Buyer may want to apply a clear coat of finish to preserve for the next years. The wood seat(underside view) looks to be intact and solid. Dark with age and wear but not cracked. The greenish padding may have been replaced over the years. Has a few'dents' and scratches, but no tears. Vintage Heavy Duty Low Milk Stool or Cricket ~ Great Original Paint
Description: Here is a great little milk stool that is solid. Solid, solid and because of its size and form can be used for many things. The thick legs are fully mortised through the seat top. The seat is 12” in diameter with a nicely indented surface and is over 2” thick. The stool sits at about 8” tall and each of the three legs is about 1 3/4” x 1 3/4" wide. The original black paint is in great condition. It covers the wood so thoroughly that I cannot be sure of the wood but judging by the weight it is a hardwood and probably white oak. It is heavy. Solid and sturdy which are the three characteristics you need on any of these stools but it is also quite comfortable to sit upon because of the scooped top. This has been in my family from before the 60s. We were never allowed to play with or mess with it so it's still in the original condition. The top is 9" across with a 3-1/2" long Handel and stands 11" tall. I was alway told it came from the farm of the Walton's side of the family. Who's kids sold off the land and was developed into a housing communities. They all gone away and aren't interested. Vintage Nevco Fold n' Carry wood stool. The seat measures approx. 12 1/2" x 8" It approx. 9 1/2" tall. It does not have a place of manufacture on the bottom but I think it's from Yugoslavia. Part of the makers stamp on the bottom is gone/faded. See closeup picture. I don't know the exact year this was made but possibly in the 1950's or 1960's. Pre-owned. In used vintage condition. It does show a lot of wear from being used. On the top the finish is mostly gone. Dings/scratches on top, underneath and on legs. The fold up legs work great and are not loose. It's being sold as is. 2 areas on the edge of the seat back rest where the metal has been bent slightly. See photographs. The seat is 20 1/2 inches from the floor. The top of the back is about 30 inches from the floor. The round seat with the unusual(almost heart-shaped or tooth shape back) is about 11 inches in diameter. Primitive US Midwest Wood Three Legged Milk Stool
Primitive Three Legged Wood Milking Stool. The stool is thick and heavy. The seat being one solid piece of 1 1/8" thick, 7 3/4" wide, and 15" long, possibly ash wood. The wood is a dark rich tan, and has a very tight grain. The rear leg is thicker than the front two, with a 4 1/2" diameter. The two front peg legs have an approx. 3 1/4 diameter. All three legs are 6" long from the base of the stool. The tool marks used to plane the stool are still visible on the under side. There are also several worm holes on the top and under side. I think there are wood pegs securing the legs to the plank, but they are so old, I cannot be sure if they are wood pegs or very old hand made nails. The seat plank has a large sliver of wood missing on the edge; this is visible in the pics. One of the legs has been beveled, while two have ... morenot been. This leads me to believe one or two of the legs may have been replaced at one time. Although the patina of all the legs and the seat are perfectly matched, and every leg is very old. The stool has no wobble at all, but does slant slightly to the left. It also has faint remnants in small places of gray paint, and appears to have a thin layer of protective coating. It is hard to imagine someone actually used this at least twice a day. Morning and night, 7 days a week, Christmas and all holidays, rain or shine! Yet, after all that, here it still is! Anyone out there need to milk a cow? Please note. If I can get a shipping discount, at the time of sale, I will pass that savings onto the buyer.
