Before HGTV. The DIY Channel or even Bob Vila's This Old House, there was Bill Baker's Furniture Pattern Series. Pattern#139 is for a classic Mid Century Provincial 50" Occasional Bench. As you can see in the photos. The original mailing envelope is worn and torn and the diagrams are showing some discoloration, as do the patterns themselves. These are from the estate of a handyman and, although I am not a wood worker, all the patterns and diagrams appear to be here. This is genuine mid-century design. Nice. Old, vintage piece in pretty good condition- inside storage area is clean. Outside is a bright mustard color, no splits or tears in vinyl on top. There are a few nicks and small slits in front and on one of the sides- see last four pictures. Legs have some scratches. Great decor item for your home. Unit is 15 x 15 inches and 19 inches in height. Legs will be removed to facilitate shipping, they simply screw on and off. Attractive piece in that nice, old, mustard color with brown trim. Custom finished Set of three benches VERY strong benches with thick wood. High load capacity Set of three all matched. Client requested a distressed look and the benches were sanded down. Stained, glazed and then finished with shellac and top sealer.
